The bolt clasps on all three chains I bought had all broken within 2 and a half years. Poor quality.

Strange company. I ordered a £200 chain yesterday. They invoiced me and I immediately paid via Paypal.They contacted me later to say they couldn't access the payment - it had left my account. Then I discover they were billing me for £3 more than the invoice - because the chain was heavier than listed. I cancelled the order and went back in. The chain is still listed at £200 - not £203. So it just appears they are gouging customers after ordering.

Which for £3 seems a particularly stupid business practice and it just pisses people off.

Absolutely reliable, very quick delivery and great packing. I do recommend this website if you would love to save money. Thanks Cooksongold!

Edit: after using them more I have found them to be reliable.

I have made four or five orders from cookson Gold.
They always deliver promptly and everything has been fine.
I did order an item that was not in stock. I contacted customer service after a couple of weeks to ask. They sorted it out and I got the item at the price I ordered it for which was sale price.
Great range of tools, metals, gems etc
Note Cookson Gold did not take money for that delayed item until they dispatched it, so I'm not sure re the content of some of the negative complaints.
Also re another negative review of course silver needs cleaned! There are a number of products available to protect the silver on sale with Cookson Gold. :) I have bought one of them and am quite happy with it.

I have a mixed opinion about this store. If you order an item that is listed 'In stock' then you shouldn't have a problem. I have order from this store a few time and the items that were listed 'In stock' are great and arrive within the week. However, I have ordered a few items that were listed as 'Expected'. 2 months on and they still haven't arrived. I have checked my order receipt and it is still listed as 'Awaiting preparation'. I have contacted the company via email a couple of time asking when I should expect these items to arrive; with no response. I really don't understand why the 'Expected' option exists. Its misleading to us, your customers and I believe you would have a much better customer experience without it. Being a new, small business, I have already lost valued customers as they have given up waiting. There's nothing more frustrating than receiving a bad review about something you can not control. I will still use you as a supplier, only buying items listed as 'In Stock'. However, I would like to be refunded for the items that have not arrived. I have found an alternation supplier for those items and no longer need them from you.

Quick delivery, good products!

I have been waiting over 5 months for them to deliver an outstanding item. Response from Cooksongold is that it is not in stock. Why then is the item is still available on their website to sell to other unsuspecting customers?

Ich bin schon lange Kunde und war immer sehr zufrieden allerdings seit 2021 ist der Service so schlecht, dass ich mich gezwungen sehe eine Bewertung zu schreiben. Gerne würde ich es direkt auf der Seite aber ich finde den Zugang nicht zu feefo und über meine gekauften aber nicht erhaltenen Artikel geht es auch nicht. Ich habe vor zwei Wochen eine Bestellung aufgegeben und gezahlt aber keine weitere Information erhalten, also wird es bearbeitet, ist es verschickt, wo ist die Trackingnummer. Ich habe auch den Kundenservice kontaktiert zuerst wegen der neuen Zollbestimmungen:
1. Ist auf Halbfabrikate (Silber Draht und Silber Blech) Einfuhrzoll zu
zahlen oder nur Einfuhr MWST. ?

2. Welche Zolltariff Nummer ist auf Silber Halbfabrikate?
Die Antwort war ich soll selber nachschauen mit einen geschickten Link oder beim Zoll anrufen. Super...haben sie schon mal beim Zoll angerufen, wenn nein es ist mühsam...

Dann habe ich bestellt um es einfach herauszufinden, aber wie oben beschrieben weiß ich nicht mal ob es unterwegs ist.
Ich habe mittlerweile die Firma 4 bis 5 mal kontaktiert aber keine Antwort.
Morgen eröffne ich einen Fall auf Paypal, da gezahlt ist meine Einkauf schon.
Ich habe Verständnis für die neue Situation aber nicht für einen so schlechten oder gar keinen Kundenservice.

I have placed several orders with Cookson Gold over the last 6 months. Generally they have been ok - however, a handful of sterling silver chains I purchased have gone yellow - after 3 months of purchase, which means I can no longer use them. I contacted their dire customer service to ask if I could send them back from them to look at for replacements - because obviously you expect a silver chain to last longer than a few months before discolouring... Cookson Gold however seem to think this is totally acceptable - So far I have been told to buy a container of silver dip ( this is more expensive than buying new chains ) I have then been told discolouration is normal (really?? after 3 months?!) and that how I have stored it could have caused it - they have been stored inside the bags that Cookson Gold sent them in, then kept in a closed draw, inside a room in my house - not near a window, not in direct sunlight, not in a humid atmosphere.

Upon questioning how long they would expect silver to last before discolouring, I've just been sent a cut and paste 'lesson' they got from Google...

Totally unacceptable customer service... If I had sold these chains onto my customers I would have to give them a refund for tarnished/cheap quality items. If you buy an item of jewellery, you expect it to last longer than a few months - even wearing it every single day you would expect it to last longer.

It's a shame their service is so appalling, they have just lost a customer.

Saw many bad reviews which is understandable if people have had a bad experience, but I thought I’d take the risk as I needed a large amount of fimo clay and Cookson gold had the best deals. Bought via eBay and the delivery was efficient, I saved a lot of money and everything arrived correctly. I’m sorry to anyone who had a poor experience but for me it was 👌🏼

I ordered over a holiday weekend and rang 8.35am on the Tuesday to check they had received. Was impressed with their customer care which is impeccable. I was told my order would arrive either the next day or Thursday and I would receive an email of the delivery slot.The following day received an email confirmation and within the designated time slot received my package. My item was packaged with care. Exceedingly impressed with this company ..flawless and seamless ordering process...very quick delivery...carefully packaged...prompt, reliable and efficient. I will without doubt order from them again ...they remain top of my list as a business supplier!

Bought a set of files, about 50 quids' worth. The only place in the UK that had them. Delivery took two or three days pre-Xmas. A smooth experience from start to finish - will shop with them again.

Slow, not sure if I will get the order, ordered on 5th of December and as of the 23rd nothing, been told 20 working days for international, this seems a bit ridiculous.

Quality isn’t always perfect but customer service do their best to put it right.

I do love their eco packaging when they ship goods and I regularly reuse it for storing plates of silver or over flat materials.

Do not recommend at all - i’ve had terrible experiences after they messed up my order and sent me somebody else’s (which i informed them of and sent back to them at my own inconvenience). I was promised a discount off my next order by way of apology for the mix up and placed a £250 order in good faith that i would get the 10% discount credited back to me. I have now been informed that “i was misinformed and we will make sure this doesn’t happen again” - basically i won’t be getting the gesture of good will because i am already entitled to a student discount. This is completely irrelevant in my opinion and it is shocking customer service to back-track on a promise.

I’m sorry this company has had £600 out of me in the last month alone. I’m angry that i had to find and print out a form, take time to fill it in, package up valuable items that were incorrectly sent to me and then have an otherwise unnecessary trip to the post office in the middle of a pandemic - i put myself at risk to be honest and considerate and haven’t even had a thank you.

I also wonder if somebody else received my order with my personal details on as i did with the other persons - is this in breach of GDPR laws?

I didn’t want to write this review but after receiving a very short and abrupt answer to my email of complaint and being unsatisfied with said answer, i felt i had no choice. I’ve also had no joy calling them and get fobbed off that somebody else will call me back - they never do. I’ve also been told if i place yet another order i can have the discount which is just baffling!

“Customer service” team are inadequate and my experience with this company has sent me to an alternative supplier.

My experience with Cooksongold has been excellent so far. My orders have been accurate and on time. I did however put an order in today. Got as far as putting in my credit card details and the site crashed. I'm hoping the orders havnt gone through as I did it more than once thinking I made a mistake. I'm a bit concerned as to the negative reviews from people who contact customer service. I will check when it's back online to see if payments have gone through. In the mean time I remain hopeful my good experience of this company doesnt turn bad.
