Deep Blue Fish and Chips Avaliações 

Today we were in the area of Woburn Sands again and visited the Deep Blue restaurant. Last time was a happy experience due to the service of Keely and luckily she was on duty today again. She really is a good promotion for the restaurant. She adviced us our lunch and it tasted great again. Service with a smile! Thanks Keely, hope next time your make our visit again. Always delicious food!

not very good and overpriced, far better fish and chip shops in Leeds.

Take out
2large cod & chip ,awful running in grease straight out of fryer,straight in your box ,,
no time to rest fish to drain oil off
just felt like you have ordered paid no out of the doors,
even I know using quality oil there should never be a awful aftertaste,
who ever cooked this fish need to get another job.
The priced they charge they should have the best chef in Norwich cooking for them ,

Reading near J11 M4. The cod was fine, the chips pretty awful. £60 paid, 20 min wait during which I was trapped, having already paid and fish cooking. 'Entertainment' provided by two returning customers demanding refunds, poor girl on the counter was 2 weeks into the job, running around and in an impossible position [no doubt she'll leave soon]. Main front counter chap had a dismissive, arrogant approach, criminal level of interest. Worst customer service I have seen in action for a decade. He refused to put any salt & vinegar on my 6 portions of 'chips' which I found unbelievable [he offered S&V when I ordered/paid!] but he claimed they were too busy to waste time on that. The guy cooking at the back joined in when I questioned how on earth I could be denied salt & vinegar but contributed zero to proceedings. The young woman obliged in the end (thank you), while the chap then blanked me. No one smiled in 20 mins (3 staff or ANY customers) and I will never visit again, even if offered food for free. Order here at your peril. Avoid the chips. Honestly, Aldi own brand Home Fries are so much better, for <40p per equivalent portion (against £2.99 here) and you don't get sneered at, argued with, and frankly insulted. I think if you have read all this, you'll have got the message. I'll allow the (compulsory) 1-Star for the fish. Chips were dire, and service atrocious.

Update after reply on 26th, which ignores the info I gave on store location, and wants me to resubmit via a website! Really? And Screenshot my review for them. No further action from me on this.

Very disappointing visit, overpriced fish & chips that took ages to arrive and when they did the order was wrong. Went back to get what had been ordered and wish we hadn't as the chips were very dry with no flavour and in contrast the fish was very oily and batter was too thick. Would recommend any other chip shop in Newmarket before Deep Blue!

I have used Deep Blue fish and chips in Horsham West Sussex,using take away and restaurant for many years.I have normally been served by Angela and Joanne, both women always so very helpful, and friendly.
However on this occasion 27/07/20222 I ordered Large Haddock and chips and a Diet Coke cost £18.48 which I found expensive for a fish and chip lunch. At these increased prices I may have to curtail my future visits.
The restaurant is always clean,and there are always condiments on the tables.

I ordered 1 x haddock and chips and 1 x fishcake and chips with curry sauce. £20!!!!
Would have been cheaper to eat out.
I was expecting decent sized portions at least, but one of the chips looked like a childs portion.
Were they worth the cost?- no way!

Mother Kelly's in Portchester now owned by Deep Blue used to have an excellent reputation. In my view the standard has considerably plummeted. I had decided not to go there again after some pretty less than average chips in previous visits. However, I went today and for a change ordered jumbo sausage in batter. I have never had such a bad sausage. Absolutely tasteless, consistency awful, colour white. I can only assume the contents were pork fat and breadcrumbs. Ugh. The chips were also not a lot better probably being yesterday's offering reheated. And what is it with chip shops generally? They seem to have this obsession with quantity over quality. It's OK to taste awful as long as there's plenty of it!

Have bought the standard fish snd chips from Deep Blue in Wetwang for many years. Today decided to try their order online, to avoid the long queues on a sunny afternoon. My order was all packed upon my arrival, but I decided to add salt and vinegar. Sadly found that the fish I ordered was half the usual size. I asked why and they said it was down to weight. Thought I might tuck into a thick piece of fish … sadly this was not the case. I think I will stick to ordering at the counter in future … where I can see the portion of fish I am getting instead of being fobbed off with something half the size hidden and wrapped up in an online order.

We ordered from the southsea pier takeaway on Wednesday 29th December 2021.Firstly was very over priced fish and chips and sausage and chips cost over £20.The fish was regular but was tiny over cooked and chips were no better.Then by that night my husband and I had upset stomach.Definitely would not eat from there again Avoid!

The newmarket suffolk branch . Had a sit in fish and chips and was dreadful , unpalatable . I told the man behind the counter who had a really do not care attitude or show any kind of concern . Once bitten for sure never again and that must be why the place is always empty . rubbish

Deep Blue used to be really good for fish and chips, but now the opposite is true. The cod and chips and plaice and chips that we had tonight were soggy and very greasy. I couldn't taste the plaice, just grease.
Also their website is rubbish. Tonight it said that there wasn't any haddock, yet when I got to the shop they did have haddock. I told them about the cockup with their website and asked them to replace the cod with haddock but they refused, point blank. This is the second time this has happened. I guess my only option is to use my feet and start getting my weekly fish and chips from another, more deserving and better quality frier!!
PS I now have indigestion and feel slightly sick. SHAME

Visited Deep Blue Fish and Chips on Southsea Pier. Quite a nice environment but terrible quality food. Sausage was small and tasteless. Small portion of so-so chips. Battered cod was tiny probably not cod at all. Exorbitant price given what's on the plate. The 'ketchup' was bizarre - a tiny translucent globule of something far removed from Heinz. Overall felt ripped off. There is no excuse - there are countless better fish and chip restaurants and takeaways offering great food at reasonable prices. Deep Blue are at the other end of the scale Will never go again. Avoid!!!!

Got large cod and chips for my dad. Completely inedible. Apparently they cook to order but this had obviously been cooked twice as had 2 layers of batter he could not even pull the 2nd layer of batter off the dried piece of fish.
Will never return, and have never been so disappointed

Awful from ordering to tasting
We went to the restaurant at the end of Southsea pier
The restaurant lacks any effort on its interior other then it’s lighting. It really needs a large amount of plants added and screens to break up the dull environment.
Lady taking our order was so quiet we had to ask her to repeat herself so many times and it was a struggle.
Then the wrong orders arrived so part of our party had to wait for their food whilst others ate
Then when it did arrive the so called burger was actually served in sliced bread
And to top it off a hair inside which then put us all off completely

We ordered a family meal for a change from their Letchworth shop, this was a huge mistake, we should have used our tried a trusted Dominoes Pizza.

The fish and jumbo sausage both had soggy batter and the fish seemed tasteless, my portion of scampi was murdered and overdone.

The worse thing was the chips, all 3 portion there must have been literally five chips that actually looked like chips, but we’re inedible, all dry and hard, the rest looked like the dregs from the bottom of the fryer at the end of a Friday night, all burned shrivelled and crunchy, if I wanted crisps I would have sprinkled a bag of walkers over my plate, I’m surprised my fillings didn’t fall out!

When they started out in town they were known as the best and we’re, only because they took over our trusty chippy which had been in town for decades who was one of those old school chippies handed down through his family.

Deep Blue obviously use cheep inferior products to get a quick profit. Not impressed in the slightest with them and seeing the other many complaints they seriously need to think again. Will never use again.
