Initially, I was advised that a specialist would contact me to discuss my requirements and provide expert product advice. Unfortunately, I found that I had greater product knowledge than the "specialist" I spoke with, whose guidance appeared to consist solely of reading information directly from the website.

When I eventually placed my order, I later discovered that the "specialist" had ordered the incorrect SloRoller accessory for the Classic series rather than the Big Joe series grill I had purchased. I requested that this item be cancelled and replaced with the rotisserie attachment instead.

I was then informed that the rotisserie would arrive with the grill; however, this did not happen. To make matters worse, the grill itself — a purchase worth approximately £2,000 — was left unattended in the road by the courier without any phone call being made to me, despite my clearly stating in the delivery instructions that I was working from my home office and required a call as I may not hear the door.

When I raised this issue, I felt as though my concerns were dismissed and that I was effectively being accused of being dishonest regarding the lack of contact from the courier. I find it completely unacceptable that such an expensive item was not even placed on my garden path, but instead left discarded in the road.

Following this, I was promised that the rotisserie would arrive no later than Tuesday. When it failed to arrive, I contacted them again on Wednesday and was then guaranteed delivery on Thursday. That didn't happen either. The item arrived a week late with no offer of compensation, but instead a barrage of frankly poor excuses and pushing the blame to various members of staff and couriers.
I would thoroughly recommend avoiding this company.

Thank you for your feedback.

We are sorry for any inconvenience or frustration relating to this order.

We can see from notes on the order that you spoke to a trainee member of staff on calling to make a purchase. The issue with the incorrect SloRoller accessory was caught prior to dispatch of the goods and our sales team made arrangements to correct this while apologising for this instance of human error.

Regarding the delivery, and as per our website information and the dispatch email sent priory to the delivery date:

"The haulage company delivering your goods operate a one-man delivery with a Tail Lift vehicle and Pallet truck. This is a kerb-side delivery as the driver is not insured to enter the premises but can wheel the delivery wherever he can access with the Pallet truck. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any delays that the pallet courier experience. In the rare event any of your items arrive damaged or missing, please notify our customer service department within 48 hours of receiving the delivery",

The third-party courier will have been provided with your contact information and we can only apologise for any inconvenience relating to the delivery location. As we're sure you can appreciate, the driver would be expected to use their own discretion in determining whether they have access closer to the property, and if they identify a problem in wheeling the pallet truck closer then they can only leave the palletised items curbside.

We do completely appreciate your disappointment regarding the rotisserie, and can only apologise for the delay in receipt of this. As you will know, our dispatch team had arranged this with DPD so that this would be with you as soon as possible after being missed off the original consignment. Again, we can only apologise for any delay in the courier's system as this will ultimately have been due to factors outside of our control.

Excellent all round.

Excellent! The stove arrived on the arranged day,delivered by a reliable local courier who was very helpful. Direct Stoves kept me informed of likely delivery time, as the stove was coming from the factory in Italy. It arrived just over 10 days from ordering, which was really swift. The stove was really well packed on a half pallet with a wooden crate built around it, so there was not a scratch on it! I would highly recommend Direct Stoves.

Love the Morsø

Very good. Although it arrived a day before. So I was not at home. It was left on the doorstep. Which is fine by me. I had planned the delivery date! So had to change a few things around as it was between 8.00am - 6.00pm !. Love the Morsø.

We are sorry for any inconvenience regarding the delivery. Shipping is generally via a third-party courier and while any requested dates are adhered to as closely as possible, they are not 100% guaranteed. It is thankfully rare that this happens, but it is not unheard of for items to go out ahead of schedule if a local depot is trying to clear a backlog or even due to basic human error.

As per the delivery information on our website, "for deliveries to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and all other Offshore Islands, a delivery charge may apply. We will contact you to confirm the delivery charge for these locations". This does include Scottish islands and we can only apologise if you feel that this was not clear prior to purchase.

Advertised something in stock they didn't have in stock!

Advertised (and even continued to do so, after I spoke to them) a pizza oven that actually was not even in stock! Even on the day of my refund, it was STILL advertised as in stock and 3-5 day delivery. That is unforgiveable.

The only reason why they DON'T have 1 star rating is twofold - a) they replied to my questions in a timely manner and b) the refund was quick.

Great until things go wrong !

Ordered 13/3/26 with requested installation 10 April which seemed fine when ordering but few days later told they needed few more days but as I was going on holiday we agreed 20 April. Installers all confirmed.

On 20 April installers arrived at your warehouse to find on,y half of the order there - just the fire and flue but no slips or hearth, Surely you have someone who checks and expedites orders in advance of collection.

Missing parts delivered few days later and given an installation date …ten days later ! I spoke to the installer direct (who was lovely and agreed to ‘fit me in’). However he had other issues and we eventually agreed an installation date of one week later.

And so it continues, installer arrived only to find the legs of the fireplace did not match the dimensions for the ‘slips’ and once again could not be installed…..the legs were taken away and had to wait a further 12 days.

Today…2 months later …..hallelujah….its installed. Thank goodness for the installation Team.

With regard to Direct Stoves, I had to pay every penny upfront …. Verbal apology from the showroom but nothing more…. no refund discount, no offer of free extras as way of apology …. not even an email apology so clearly once they have your money the rest is just a shoulder shrug and hey ho !

I ran a large business and it is what you do to fix things and appease customer is how you are measured.

Customers who have had a bad experience will tell, on average 18 people whereas people with a positive experience may tell 4/5 people.

FURTHER INCORRECT INFO BELOW:
I was away from 12-18 April hence installation date 20/21 April. I was NOT away until 10th May. When the slips were incorrect size, the warehouse obviously would not know and I did not suggest this but clearly another ‘human error’ in ordering from your mfg.
we were told this would take a further week making it the 8th May and I was away Friday 8th with work hence the final installation date being the 11th.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience relating to this order. It is always our intention to offer the best customer service that we can, and we do understand and appreciate your disappointment in this instance.

To offer some context, this particular order as confirmed with our showroom team includes goods from four different manufacturers. The bespoke tiled slips and hearth from one of these appear to have been delayed without the supplier notifying our warehouse team.

While goods are checked into the warehouse and outstanding items chased as a matter of course, because we had already received a fireplace chamber as a stock (non-bespoke) item from the same manufacturer, the warehouse team appear to have marked this order down as fully received. This will have been down to human error and we can see that our team apologised at the time for the honest mistake.

The issue reported with the surround legs and slips was not something that will have been evident to the warehouse team upon receipt. Your surround was driven directly to the manufacturer on the same day that this was reported and at our cost, to ensure that we could get it altered as a matter of urgency. We can only apologise for the further delay to fitting.

It is also worth our mentioning that you informed the sales team that you were going away until the 10th, and a member of the team rearranged other jobs to ensure that the 11th was free as the earliest possible installation date. We do feel that this illustrates the effort made by our team to expedite a satisfactory resolution.
