Thank you for your email.
I am sorry that you arrived tonight and hadn't received our email that was sent out to all 32 attendees. That is very frustrating and upsetting for you.
The event was moved yesterday as explained to you as our host was poorly. We rang the venue and the manageress then kindly moved the date from tonight to 12th August which was then changed on our website yesterday.
We emailed all 32 people on our attendee list and texted them to let them know of this change.
We are so sorry that out of 32 people frustratingly you and another person unfortunately hadn't received their email -sometime gmail or hotmail accounts will occasionally block an unknown email - this may have happended as the email came from admin@ditchordate.com but all of the other attendees did receive their notification as they knew not to attend tonight therefore no other attendees were there. If no email had been sent out as you suggested then there would have been lots of attendees waiting for the event. We are sorry that you and another attendee arrived tonight
We did as requested by you send a copy of the email sent out to all attendees. As explained we send the main email to admin@ditchordate.com then BCC all the email addresses of attendees in that field so no one sees each other's email addresses. This is so we can send out one email quickly to all attendees quickly.
We also follow this up at the same time with a text but as explained to you when you booked you filled out the phone contact field with your email address - please see a screen shot of this below ( your full email is not shown for security reasons - this is not 'gaslighting' but showing to you that we tried to contact you by email and phone but couldn't contact you by phone/ text as you did not register your phone number.

It is also important to add that you had requested that the previous event you were booked on be moved as you couldn't attend as you'd wanted to watch the England game which we were happy to do.

At no point in any email correspondance tonight did you ask for any refund or reply to our last email to state you could or could not attend the 12th August which has been listed on our website since yesterday 28th - this would have given us the chance to offer you a refund if this is what you wanted. Unfortunately we cannot cover your train and taxi costs.
No one is attempting ( neither Ditch or Date or Trustpilot ) to get you to remove your review as all reviews are valued and respected by us and Trustpilot whether factually correct or not plus you have listed your full name linked to the review too.

We try so hard to make everyone feel welcome and relaxed at our events and we are so lucky to have a lovely host in Newcastle who takes pride in this. We respect and value everyone of our attendees and it makes us feel happy that we are hopefully providing a good service bringing single people together.

The venue was changed on the Monday before the event due to the bar Tipsy Bird closing due to a march. We immediately informed everyone via email and text and also changed it on our website as soon as we were contacted by Tipsy Bird. This was unfortunately out of our control.
We're disappointed to read your comments, particularly as they have been posted anonymously, which makes it impossible for us to verify who attended or investigate the concerns you've raised directly. Our event was Thursday 9th July In Belfast - but unsure why you did not contact us before then but leave anonymous comments instead and aimed at our host is hurtful for her especially after the trauma of her housemate being rushed to hospital.

We would also like to address the comments regarding our host. The host in question has received consistently excellent feedback from attendees and takes great pride in ensuring everyone has a welcoming and enjoyable experience. She worked hard on Thursday and reading two reviews by people who attended our Belfast event on Thursday highlighting her lovely manner speaks volumes. We therefore take unsubstantiated comments about our team very seriously as it is unkind but also upsetting for our host too who is a young girl just wanting attendees to have a lovely night.

You mentioned the request for photographs of match sheets. On this occasion, our host had a close friend unexpectedly admitted to hospital on Friday afternoon with stomach pains she rang us worried that she was with her friend and may not be fully contactable as she was in A&E - again showing how conscientious and loyal she is - to question this in a public review is just so unkind and unnecessary.

It's also worth noting that every attendee has the option to enter their choices online after the event instead of using their paper sheet. Our records show that neither you nor the friends who attended with you used this online option, despite it being available and an email sent out directly after the event explaining how to do this online. We sent out an email to the 8 people who had not entered their choices online by Friday evening as we did not want you to miss out on the possibility of any matches. We take the time to ensure everyone's choices are entered so if you cannot enter them online we make sure we do this for you - hence the email sent to you Friday night and hosts taking photos of sheets as backup. This is to simply to allow us to process matches as quickly as possible and provide the best possible service despite unforeseen circumstances.

Speed dating is a social event, and while we work hard to create a friendly, relaxed environment, we cannot guarantee that every attendee will find someone they'd like to match with. We are sorry that you did not get matched with anyone you chose but this is out of our control. Almost everyone attending received at least 3 matches which again is shown in other reviews from the event. I undertstand you not receiving any match is frustrating and disappointing. However, we are always keen to receive genuine, constructive feedback and would have welcomed the opportunity to discuss any true concerns directly had you contacted us.

We remain proud of the thousands of people who have enjoyed our events over the past two decades and of the many relationships that have started through Ditch or Date. We wish you every success in your future dating journey.

We are so sorry Valentine that we had to cancel the event. We had no earlier knowledge ourselves - our host had been poorly for a few weeks but really wanted to host the event has hadn't been well enough to host our last two due to long term illness. We wanted to support her in this and also had someone from our team who was set to host alongside as support but they had fallen ill with a viral infection that morning. On arrivel to set up she felt very sick and did try to continue. The venue were short staffed last night also due to illness so there was noone we could have even had from there to stand in - we did try to ensure the event could run as planned. It was a very difficult night and we felt awful having to cancel - everyone has already received their refund and accepted a free speed dating event from us next month but we fully understand why you were annoyed and chose not to attend another event with us - we are so sorry about this.
There are events happening in Coventry with other companies - if you need any help locating these we would be happy to help .
Sorry again for any inconvenience or stress caused last night.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry you were annoyed that your refund took longer than anticipated. Our team had had confirmation from Barclaycard that your full £20 refund was made.
Our team did explain to you that we don't process refunds - it is done via Barclaycard - the secure payment gateway that we use for all card bookings on our website. Yours was requested the day after we had to postpone our event. On messaging one of our team via text she did then follow up with Barclaycard to ensue your refund was made albeit later than we thought as we were initially unaware that you hadn't received it within the usual 3-5 working days. Barclaycard are usually very quick on all transactions but on occasions unintentional delays can happen. We are pleased you have received it now.
