Excellent experience fairly priced always stop for a coffee and cake staff always there to help

The product I needed was TopRose Rose and Shrub food 3kg box which has always been available not so.the only product I could find was small bags of Westland Rose and Shrub, very costly and 2 bags only enough for one dose for.the plants in my garden. No explanation from the staff if it was unavailable or just sold out with more expected on the next delivery. Feel that the staff should be able to look up information of this kind to assist customers rather than we haven't any if it's not out as I could have waited for another week or so.

Whilst I have no problem with the staff who are always helpful, this is the third time we have visited the restaurant to find there are no main meals available. The food we had was fine but not the choice we would have preferred

Visit was mainly OK but the cashier didn’t understand your offer of free plant for every £10 spent. So had to go back and explain. Fair do though they did apologise and allowed me to get the correct number. Having spent £60 I was told I was only allowed one plant per transaction. I showed the details of your offer and it was put right.

Had a very nice outing, came for lunch in the restaurant. Some dishes weren't available but when two meals came, they were very good. Unfortunately our friend who came with us was left without a meal and had to query it with staff. What she'd chosen was no longer available, so she settled for another dish. They were very apologetic in the restaurant and offered us free drinks to compensate.

Used my Dobbies vouchers towards the cost of two meals and drinks, also got £1 off my purchase of 12.55kg of bird seed. Only gave a 4 star rating because of the confusion over lunch.

Take my grandchildren every Monday to play in soft play area. I have a drink from restaurant. Always good service. Only criticism because restaurant is built with conservatory type roof and is too hot. Need some air conditioning or fans. Handy having Sainsbury’s in store. Have bought clothing too from Cotton Traders which is good quality. Good selection of other goods too.

Ive given three stars because the staff did try to help me out but still confused about the fog zone sitting out system they’ve started .

Toddy l stopped in to Dobbies in findern derby ,with my small dog , for late lunch
I indicated to the staff member behind the restaurant till that I’d be sitting outside in an area with parasols and shade , with my dog? however I was then told I had to sit in the outside area that was next to the indoor dog area , no reason was given other than it’s next to the interior dog zone.
I couldn’t see the logic as both are outside
I asked who made rules like that and I was told it came from “ head office “
I sat out in the heat in the area I was apparently now only allowed to sit with no shade . Because I’m disabled I’m quite intolerant to heat and bright sunshine , which was why I had wanted to sit under the parasols at the other end in the outdoor seating area where I’d always sat in the past for many years .
When the staff member brought my tea out I asked for the contact email for this head office to let them know it’s rather unthought ful and quite discriminatory to only allow you to sit in one area outside simply because you have a dog .
I explained to this to the staff member and he asked his manager to come speak to me -
I big burly man with hands on his hips came out to talk to me .
I explained about my disability and my desire to sit outside with my dog , but in the shaded area ,and that I was not that demanding to want this and why had they stopped allowing dogs in the parasol shady area anyway ?
He said they’d ordered parasols for the area by the dog zone but they had been sent the wrong ones so now there simply weren’t any.
He also said that dog owners had to sit outside only by the interior dog zone because otherwise they would be walking with their dogs, all the way down the restaurant to get outside to the parasolled area.
I pointed out that there was a path that led down the side of the building to the parasol area that dog owners could use to reach it instead of going through the restaurant.
He decided to then allow me to sit in the parasol shady area and carried my tray for me up the path and I followed .
I hope that you can somehow sort this situation out please ?
It seems that if they get parasols for the outside area /dog zone it will be a lot better for everyone including the dogs , but no one seemed to know when that would be .
This means I would avoid going there now if I want to sit outdoors which is basically the summer and autumn months , my dog is an emotional support dog and tends to go everywhere with me.

I also preferred it when they had table service , they seem to have now reverted to the old queue system which means one is often standing waiting a long time due to it being busy at times .

Lots of choice and variety but high prices

Good selection of items at reasonable prices.

Good selection of plants. We got what we went for, loved the 20% off

I was short changed £2 & couldn't use a club card money token 🙁
