We’re Dogsnug — an independent dog brand based in Stoke Newington, London. We design and make carriers, harnesses, and jumpers in our workshop, creating thoughtful, good-looking gear that works beautifully for dogs and their people. Trusted by thousands of dog owners, Dogsnug creates comfortable, stylish, and long-lasting gear for dogs. Dogsnug began over 10 years ago, when we struggled to find kit that truly worked for our own whippet dog Kai. Too often, the choice was either practical but unattractive, or stylish but not built to last. So we set out to make products that do both — combining comfort, durability, and a modern look you’ll feel good about using. Since then, we’ve worked with thousands of customers, both online and in our Stoke Newington shop, to refine and perfect our designs. Every product is informed by real dogs, from dachshunds needing back support to whippets who hate the cold. We obsess over details like adjustable straps, water-repellent fabrics, and breed-specific fits, so daily walks, train rides, and adventures are easier and more enjoyable for everyone. We’re proud to stay independent and keep all our design and production in East London. At Dogsnug, our mission is simple: to keep your dog comfortable, safe, and stylish on every outing — while giving you gear you can trust to last.

Great dog carrier
The Dogsnug carrier is really nice and well made. Our dachdhund took to ot immediately. Certainly recommended this carrier.
Perfect 👌
I contacted dogsnug as I wasn't sure about sizing for their dog carrier. They replied really quickly, so I ordered one. This was shipped really quickly. Its perfect for my cavalier king charles as she has grade 3 heart murmur and gets really tired easily. Its made so well , and my dog is comfortable and happy being in the carrier. For me this is so comfortable on my back and neck , its perfect.

I have a lively Dachshund puppy and it's nice and roomy to have a blanket in the winter and very comfy to wear on your shoulder.
I love this bag
I love this bag. I bought the extra large bag and it’s big enough to carry my 13kg cavalier.
Lovely product
Lovely product. Appreciate that it is specially targeted for the back problems dachshunds suffer. Looking forward to using it.
Looks lovely and fits my dog very well.

The customer service here is genuinely awful.
The customer service here is genuinely awful. We paid £17.50 for next-day delivery. It arrived three days after the order. When we asked for that £17.50 back, Dogsnug refused, and gave us two flatly contradictory explanations to justify keeping it.
There was no version of this where they were entitled to keep the money. If their story was true and they handed the parcel over on time, then Royal Mail missed a guaranteed service, and Special Delivery postage is refundable to the sender when that happens. Dogsnug could have claimed it back and refunded us at no cost to themselves. If instead they dispatched late, they broke their own published policy and owed us the refund directly. Either way we were owed £17.50. They simply kept it.
First they told us their Royal Mail collection manifest proved the parcel was handed over on time, and that Royal Mail's public tracking was unreliable. When we asked to see that manifest, they refused to produce it, and then said the opposite: that the Royal Mail tracking was the official proof of dispatch. Both cannot be true. They then declared the matter closed.
We raised a chargeback with American Express, submitted the order confirmation, tracking, policy page and full email chain, and were refunded.
THE DETAILS, SO THERE'S NO DISPUTE
Order #13654. £149 carrier plus a separate £17.50 for next-day delivery, sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, tracking AJ195840734GB.
Dogsnug's own delivery page states that for next-day delivery you must order before 1pm, and that orders received after this time will be shipped the following day. We ordered after 1pm on Wednesday 5 August, so dispatch was due Thursday 6 August and delivery due Friday 7 August.
Full timeline:
Wed 5 Aug, 17:05. Order placed
Thu 6 Aug, 13:00. Dogsnug email us to say the order is on its way
Thu 6 Aug, 16:48. Royal Mail records "Sender preparing item". Label created, parcel still at Dogsnug
Fri 7 Aug, 08:20. We email to ask whether it has actually been dispatched, as there are no scans
Fri 7 Aug, 11:07. Dogsnug reply that it was dispatched the previous day and should arrive today
Fri 7 Aug, 16:55. First Royal Mail possession scan, London Central Mail Centre. A full day after dispatch was due
Fri 7 Aug, 21:05. Despatched to Bristol Mail Centre
Sat 8 Aug, 06:47. Arrived at Clifton delivery office
Sat 8 Aug, 10:36. Delivered and signed for
Royal Mail took possession late on Friday the 7th and delivered by 10:36 the next morning, well inside their guarantee. The lost day happened before the parcel ever reached the carrier.
The carrier itself is good. We were planning to buy several more in other colours. We won't now.
Dogsnug need to do better. No support agent invents a story about collection manifests and then reverses it on their own initiative. This is a policy of refusing refunds and hoping customers give up, and that comes from above.
Disgusting Customer Service
We purchased the perfect rope harness on the 9th August and to date still have not received it! We received a "fee to pay" from the Royal Mail on Saturday 15th August to say the sender didn't pay enough postage and we had to pay £3.50 to have the item delivered this was after paying the carriage charge of £3.95! We paid this and then tried getting hold of the business via email and social media to find our when we will receive the item and ask for a refund of the underpaid carriage charge and the Royal Mail extra charge to be met by an argumentative and aggressive lady on the phone who said they would only refund the £3.50 payment that we had to pay in order to have the item delivered. This customer service is horrendous and we will never purchase anything from them again and my advice would be that no one else does either! 18/08/2026 Update - Finally the harness has arrived and the sender put £2.85 postage on NOT the £3.95 as advertised on their website!!!! We are disgusted with the service we have received and do not recommend this company to anyone plus in actual fact if your looking for dog harnesses look elsewhere there are MUCH better ones at a MUCH cheaper price with respectful business owners. Clearly Dog Snug don't understand that if you put enough postage on when sending an item out the customer who already paid the carriage charge will not incur any additional charges! This is not a Royal Mail fault this is a Dog Snug fault!

Scam company, will not refund you when you return
The bag I ordered for £139 was completely different to what was shown in photographs when it arrived, horrible quality, completely different material that did not look the quality of something over £100. I contacted them to return it which they said I could do and that was weeks ago and still have not received any response or refund despite seeing that my return was received by them weeks ago (as I paid for tracked and signed postage also out of my own pocket) They are not responding to any of my emails or messages about my return and refund now either. Would not recommend this company, I feel completely scammed out of £139!

prompt delivery. Dog is very happy in the bag, I/they feel safe and supported in it and going out with her having choices makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable.

Deeply disappointed!
Everything went wrong.
First of all in had to pay a substantial amount of money due to additional taxes upon delivery in the EU. No warning whatsoever on the website.
When I unpacked I had another unpleasant surprise. Although I carefully measured my dog with the help of the measurements on the website and ordered the appropriate size, the harness proved too small and clearly was a different model than portrayed on the website.
In short, I paid - in total - double the value of the harness and it turns out to be totally useless.

Lovely practical harness
The only harness that I can get on my miniature dachshund puppy.
It’s pricey but should last a lifetime.
It’s a little tricky to get on properly, especially when you’ve got a wriggly dog, and I’m hoping it fits better as she grows.
Not massive keen on the lead, but the harness is very helpful.
Good quality and nice colour.
Once it’s on, the puppy seems comfortable in it and it’s less restrictive than a traditional harness.
Will also fit over jumpers and warm coats when the weather gets wetter/chillier.

Great bag
The delivery was so fast and the customer service was great. The base of the bag is sterdier than i imagined and it gives me my hands back while keeping my furbaby safe.

Well-made, premium carrier, but not suitable for dogs with known orthopaedic issues
The Bottom Line: The DogSnug carrier is an expensive, premium product. While it is incredibly well-made, it is not the right tool for post-operative orthopaedic recovery or for dogs with known hind limb issues. For these dogs, a pushchair would be a more appropriate investment.
Information For Context
• Dog Weight: 3.6 kg
• Health Status: 1 month post-op from knee surgery
• Product Size purchased: Puppy Size
• Maximum Comfort Window: Around 15 minutes for both human and dog
✅ The Good: Safety and Base Comfort
• The build quality of the DogSnug carrier is excellent.
• Premium Craftsmanship: It is undeniably a well-made, high-quality item.
• Secure Base: The bottom does not sag, ensuring your dog feels stable and safe.
• Pressure-relieving Design: The carrier base has an egg-carton style design to distribute weight evenly.
• Human Comfort: The straps and weight distribution feel comfortable to wear for about 15 minutes.
• Design Quality: It outperforms standard canvas or fabric sling carriers in ergonomics.
❌ Limitations
• Not appropriate for dogs with known hind end orthopaedic issues.
• High Price Tag: It is a significant financial investment.
• Forced Seating: The design forces your dog into a prolonged sitting position. While technically, they could lie down, most wont want to.
• Dog Tolerance: Based on her behaviour, my dog hits her limit around the 15-minute mark.
• Discomfort Signals: At 15 minutes, she visibly shifts her weight and she becomes slightly tense.
• Muscle Fatigue: Static sitting places continuous tension on a dog's rear joints.
• Pain Risks: For a dog recovering from surgery or who is injured or living with arthritis, this position quickly causes stiffness and pain.
🤔 Marketing vs. Reality
DogSnug does not explicitly claim in their promotional content that this product suits dogs with arthritis, injuries, or those who are post-op. Instead, they heavily market their specialised long-base carriers to protect the spines of Dachshunds. However, there’s a bit of an oversight here: a huge percentage of Dachshunds live with IVDD, arthritis and hind hind-limb issues. While the stiff base prevents spine curvature, the carrier still forces the dog into a sustained sit that will cause fatigue and pain for any pet with compromised joints.
Orthopaedic issues can cause discomfort for months or years before they become apparent. I therefore encourage all loving pet guardians to use carriers thoughtfully and on a limited basis.
Final Verdict
Buy this carrier if you have a healthy puppy or a small dog that needs a safe, comfortable lift during short outings, and you do not mind paying a premium for quality. Skip it if you are managing hind-limb rehabilitation or if your dog has known orthopaedic issues. Dog's with orthopaedic conditions need the option to lie flat, stretch out, and shift positions. A dog pushchair allows them this freedom of movement. The DogSnug carrier does not.
Response to the manufacturer: Thank you for your well-wishes. However, I followed the official sizing guide on your website. The responsibility for it's accuracy rests entirely with your company. As outlined in my review, the issue is that most dogs will not chose to lie down in an enclosed bag. They are forced to sit or crouch in order to keep their head out of the carrier and this leads to discomfort. Vet endorsements don't change that.
