Appalling no door and no refund forthcoming as previous comments absolutely impossible to communicate with them everything is ignored

It’s long but please read to the end, it’s important!

Lets begin by telling you our experience with the Wooden Door Company (Anesh and Sanjay) has been APPALLING.

Lets start with some of the excuses that will be used to undermine our review:
- we don’t recognise your name
- the email address isn’t recognised
- Corona virus effected our buisness (although we commissioned the doors well into this period and they confirmed they had all the wood ordered and delivered)
- We don’t provided a door measuring service

I’ll keep it brief but please refer to the attached photos for proof regarding quality and the facts.

We first came across the WDC (Wooden Door Company) in March in passing, we chose to pop in and met Anesh who seemed very welcoming, after a short conversation we then contacted Anesh via What’s App and email.

He provided a competitive quote and we commissioned the doors in May (into the Covid -19 period). We paid the deposit within hours of the request from Anesh and were promised the doors within 2 weeks.

We then confirmed receipt of the deposit a few days later and were also told the all the wood had been ordered
and delivered ready for manufacture.

Anesh’s father Sanjay turned up to the house to take some measurements and my wife was unable confirm some details. Sanjay agreed to come the day after to meet myself but never he turned up.
I then eventually got Sanjay to attend with one of his joiners and confirmed all the measurements and details of the doors ( this was after sending measurements and photos to confirm design and sizes to Anesh).

After a ridiculous number of calls, messages and emails, which were mostly ignored, we only got some action when we turned up at the door step of WDC. I cannot stress how POOR the WDC is at communicating.

Multiple lies and promises were made by Sanjay, Anesh and Sanjay’s wife, which were never kept.

We eventually got the final parts to our doors on the 13/08/2020 - not the 2 weeks promised.

We had agreed on the 11/08/2020 for Sanjay to deliver these items on the 12/08/2020 and i would pay him in full at this point once the items had been checked (clearly i was reluctant to pay him until the items had arrived/checked and he had agreed to this). At 1pm on the 12th, after trying to call him several times he responded to a text with a phone call saying he would deliver them on the 13th. I made him aware that i would be at work and wouldn’t be able to meet him, but once the pieces were delivered and checked I would pay him in full.

I am a key worker for the NHS and as such cannot have my phone on me during working hours. Sanjay delivered the items on the 13/08/2020 at 8.30am and messaged me to say that they had been delivered and that he was awaiting payment, as i started work at 8am i did not see these messages until i finished work.

At 15.23 I immediately made payment to Anesh after finishing work and apologised for not getting back to him sooner, and messaged him to say thanks for the delivery that morning.

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL CHANGED!!

I then returned home and told my wife that I had made payment, however she was in Tears as all the trims brought that morning had been taken from within the house.

On further investigation after speaking to the workers on site and checking CCTV, SANJAY HAD ILLEGALLY ENTERED OUR HOME AND STOLEN THESE ITEMS (see photos and time/date stamps)

I called/messaged Anesh and Sanjay and surprise surprise no answer.

I got in the car and headed towards the WDC, half way there i got a call from my wife to say that Sanjay had returned and left all the items outside without letting us know.

After waiting several months for our items, Sanjay had the audacity to enter our home Illegally and steal from us, because i was unable to pay him immediately due to the nature of my work (as a key worker for the NHS).

He was fully aware i was at work and, he was made aware by my wife, that i will not have my phone on me until i finished work. If he had come the day before as agreed, i would have been there to pay him immediately, but HE didn’t turn up.

Additional:
- The finishing was poor
- Measurements were wrong both width and height (after confirming the measurements with Anesh and Sanjay coming to measure)
- Frame sizes were wrong

Our joiner had to compensate for these errors and it has cost us more money and i have had to settle for a compromised result.

All in All Sanjay and Anesh are a tremendous disappointment. And Sanjay in particular has invaded our privacy by illegally entering our home and has stolen from us.

Please be weary!!

Very slow delivery, no updates, having to constantly chase (when I could get hold of them!) and when the doors arrived at the glazers they had been sent with the incorrect beading for fire doors but they wouldn't send replacements. I was also told several times that the couriers were collecting "today" but it still took weeks from that point. Nearly delayed our whole project.

The quality of the doors seems good but not worth it for the wait, stress and cost to fix the beading error (for which they tried to blame the glazers).

Awful. Truly awful. Avoid.
Door and frame came in the end - Long wait.
Door didn't fit frame.
Has taken 6 months to get a refund

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I wanted to use a local company but my experience has been frustrating and very disappointing. I made a simple order for 2 external wooden doors. However, what I received was not what I ordered and the service was hap-hazard.
1. The main door was made too short by 5cm.
2. The second door design was changed without consulting me.
3. The joiner they recommended was a disappointment and all but useless so I had to find one of my own to fit the doors.
4. The long delay in delivery (3.5 months to make 2 doors!).
5. The lack of proactive communication from your company – I had to constantly call in by phone or in person to chase progress and amend their mistakes.
6. The extra expense I had to incur (to compensate for the incorrect end product and extra fitting and work required).
7. The external surface of each door is starting to crack so the material appears to be sub-standard.
I gave the company chance to reply to my points above but they declined to respond or apologise. Why deal with such a company?

Great team. Provided with house full or pre finished oak doors. The finishing is very smooth and easy to clean. Discussed our options in their showroom which is also great to actually see the doors rather than view online. Delivered and now fitted by my joiner who also said very good quality. Best service in Bradford area. Workshop on site so all made to measure doors made on site which was good to see. Great service, great doors. Really happy with them. Thanks

Brilliant service. I had a repair done to a bespoke door I had made by the wooden door company, not only we’re they helpful in make the door. When I damaged it. They went out of there way to help getting in fixed. A special thank you to the office for good communication and reliability.

They do make bespoke doors quicker than as anyone else but the service is dreadful. It feels like they are a small company that can't keep up with their promises. I had to chase all the time, often you can't get through on the phone, you can't leave a message, no reply to emails.
They had a break in and all my doors were damaged and had to be remade. Completely get this but they didn't keep in touch, couldn't confirm delivery, I had a builder waiting to fit them, costing me money. When they came, the quality was only just ok, inconsistent. The glazed door was cracked, took 2 weeks to get this replaced. I was promised a refund of my delivery charge but that hasn't arrived either.

I cannot begin to describe how horrendous my experience has been with this company. From the moment I engaged with them I’ve been let down and misled. I originally had to chase times just to get a price for some bespoke doors, and only pursued the order as they advertise a much quicker turnaround (completely misleading) over their competitors. After getting no where I tried the online chat and ended up speaking to the MD who at first was very responsive, that was until they had my money (several thousand pounds). I was advised delivery would be within 5 weeks so called the week before to check on progress and arrange a delivery day for the following week. I was told all on schedule and they confirmed the delivery day. As such, I arrange to keep the day clear and for joiners to be on site to hang the doors the following day. The day arrived and no contact, no doors, so I called at 4pm and after several attempts was again unable to get through to anyone and had to resort back to the webchat which was again manned by the MD. He told me that not only would the doors not be delivered that day (or even that week!) but that they weren’t even made!

I had to pay my Joiner’s even though the doors weren’t there as they had taken a full day out of their schedule and it wasn’t their fault. I told the company this and said I expect to be compensated.

Thereafter I get a call from the MD’s father (the Founder) who informed me that the business was in such a mess that he had to “come back in the game” to sort it out. Again, at first he seemed helpful, came out to remeasure the doors (confirming that they still hadn’t even been made) to ensure the right fitting and then offered to send his own joiner free of charge. I accepted this gesture feeling it was fair.

Here we are a full month after these doors should have been fitted and yesterday the joiner didn’t turn up as scheduled and agreed and again I have to chase to find out what’s happening only to be told “the joiner is busy today” followed by “sorry mate, you’ll now have to sort your own joiner” (all of this exchange both online and text I have on record).

I have never received service as bad as this. Do not waste your time or money with these amateurs. Go to a professional .
