So I don’t know if all DriveTime…

So I don’t know if all DriveTime locations are like the one down in South Houston but if you’re selling someone a car. You should make sure that the car you are selling is safe (I.e wipers in good condition.) and if there are safety recalls on the vehicle, go the extra mile and get them checked out yourself before your showing your customers that you’re just lazy. Oh they told me that they probably could change the wipers but that it would take a while to do so, garbage.

Davante was so unbelievably helpful

Davante was so unbelievably helpful, I came in thinking I’d just get a few options and have to wait a bit longer to make a deal but he was able to negotiate with the bank and get me a really good deal on my new car. I’m so so so happy. Thank you!

Everything was great at first

Everything was great at first. The vehicle they sold us worked for a good week before the check engine light came on. We took it to Firestone under the warranty. Firestone couldn't get the light off and suggested we take it to a certified Hyundai dealership.

As of today's date (4/14/25) the car has been in the shop 4 times. We got the vehicle in January. I should mention that the dealership stated that someone tried cover up some engine issues prior to us getting the vehicle. Obviously, that was drive time.

We missed the 30 day return because the vehicle was in the shop. We got the vehicle back a few days later and then the very same night the check engine light came back on.

We asked about exchanging the vehicle but we couldn't because the 30 day exchange was up. We explained that the vehicle was in the shop but they wouldn't help us.

It has been like that since. Do not buy from Drive time. They will sell you a lemon. It's not worth the time and heart ache.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

I was initially pleased with the vehicle, but they sold me a LEMON! When I first got the vehicle, the clock was not working, and the gas door would not close properly. I called and spoke with the salesperson at DriveTime, who told me to have the vehicle placed on a diagnostic machine. We were only talking about the gas door and the clock at this point. Shortly after, I noticed something hanging from my truck. I took it to two different places, where I was told it was the water guard. They advised me to call the dealership to have it replaced, which I did. However, I was told I didn’t need the part. They informed me that they didn’t have the part but recommended I take it to a nearby shop to fix it cheaply. This all happened within my 30-day warranty period. The claim that I was asked for pictures is false was never asked for anything. Instead, I was brushed off and directed to a no-name shop because DriveTime did not want to fix the issue!
Additionally, the wrong tires were installed on my truck. I was told the tires were brand new, yet I ended up with three flat tires that blew out on the freeway, putting my life in danger. I had no choice but to pay for new tires myself. They would rather I would have driven on the rims or died. I was not offered any reimbursement. Instead, I was told that an investigation would be conducted with no guarantee of approval. The bottom line is that the tires provided were too small for the truck, which jeopardized my safety. DriveTime responded that they cannot offer reimbursement which I told them was unacceptable. If I had died on the freeway because of your negligence, then what? I told them that i8 thought this was a reputable company to purchase a car from. The advertisements seemed honest and legitimate, but in reality, they sell people lemons, misrepresent vehicle conditions, and fail to consider the inconvenience caused to buyers. I demanded a reimbursement for the issues caused by their negligence and dishonesty. The way I am being treated is utterly ridiculous, and I want to make others aware of my experience.

I recently had a frustrating experience…

I recently had a frustrating experience with Drive Time South Houston. After being approved for a zero-down car and confirming this with a phone call the day before my appointment, I was excited to finally get a new car. However, when I arrived, I was informed that the car I was interested in suddenly required a $1,400 down payment. When I asked about other cars available for zero down, I was told that there were none on the lot.

This was incredibly disappointing and felt like a bait-and-switch situation. I wasted my time and energy on what was clearly false advertising. Drive Time South Houston, please be upfront and honest with your customers about your car options and requirements. I expected better transparency and customer service from a reputable dealer.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I'm not satisfied with the car I got in April 2024. I've been having to pay for repairs since I drove it off the lot. Currently the check engine light is on and I have to pay $1300 because I need new struts as well. I understand it's a used car but I already have to pay a $500 car note like I'm driving a 2024 and on top of that I'm needing repairs every time I turn around. You all fix these cars up to where they're good enough to drive off the lot after that you're on your own. And don't get me started about silver rock insurance. They always wanna keep your car. I believe that's a tactic designed to deter people from filing a claim. Y'all know people can't afford to be without their car for days at a time. It defeats the purpose of having transportation in the first place.
