Tried to open an online ISA. Waited 4 days to get an email saying the application had been accepted, followed by single text with login details. No information about how to pay funds into the account anywhere. Gave up searching through their FAQs for answers & opened & funded an ISA with a different provider within 48 hours! Wouldn’t recommend Dudley BS to anyone & after reading the comments on here I’m really glad I ditched them. In a word, awful.

Dudley Building Society are amazing and really go out of their way to help. I am a mortgage broker and finding quality lenders that can offer great solutions for those who need them is hard. Dudley achieved this with a touch of class the staff, underwriters and customer services professionals all very customer orientated and approachable. excellent to work with highly recommended.

The person who described the process as jumping through hoops until the hoops get too small and you can't jump through them anymore summaries what a frustrating unproductive waste of time dealings with this organisation are.

Similarly to everybody else on this thread, I submitted a mortgage application 3.5 months ago and after submitted endless documents I still have no mortgage offer.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - GO TO A DIFFERENT LENDER

Do they only work 2days a week , old cronies picking on everything possible and still get figures wrong , these reviews will probably fall on deaf ears

What a poor excuse for a building society we’ve been waiting 2 months for a mortgage offer they keep asking you for paperwork and take 12 days to review each one by the time they finally get round to reviewing the paperwork some of the bank statements are out of date and the process starts again it’s a joke avoid like the plague we have a perfect credit rating and no debt we’ve had to apply for a bridging loan with another company so we don’t loose the house we want it’s cost us wasted time and money for surveys etc not happy at all 😡

I opened, and funded, a 90-day Notice Account with Dudley BS around 11pm last night, without any problems whatsoever. I was so impressed!!

Trying to get a mortgage approved by these is a nightmare. Has already taken 6 months and we're still waiting. If you like jumping through hoops that get smaller and smaller and smaller, until you can't fit through them anymore, then this is the company for you. They should be closed down by the government for poor practices that ruin people's lives. Doesn't help they use an intermediary to vet applications, which adds to the paperwork and time. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I requested an ISA transfer, but Dudley BS has refused to do so for nearly two months. This company looks like a scammer and fraudster - absolutely no stars should be given; avoid it at all costs. Do NOT use them.

If you value your mental health please do not use Dudley Building Society.

After paying an almost £500 fee for a mortgage application (which so many other mortgage lenders do not require) and being reassured by them (and stated on their website) that their lead time for application was 6 weeks, after weeks of chasing, bad communication, mistakes on their part, 16 weeks after my application was submitted, still no mortgage offer despite my broker providing everything required.

It was a week before I was due to exchange and still no offer so went with another lender who were excellent and turned an offer round in less than a week.

It took Dudley 8 weeks to instruct a valuation and 8 weeks later there was still no valid report due to errors on their and the surveyors part.

They do not respond to complaints simply 'reject' them.

I actually believe them taking a fee and not proving the service in the timescales stated in the original communication and on their website is not only in breach of the consumer act, but is also fraud.

Please do not use them, please do not hand over yiur money to them.

The constant chasing, the constant 'you will have it next week' is mentally draining and has caused me so much anxiety and stress (which they do not care about) I wouldn't want anyone else to do through that.

Mortgage applied for and paid for (£500 non refundable) on the 4th August. We are now 27th October and still being told our application is a week or so away from getting processed which will take the wait to 3 months!! Dealing with Dudley through a Broker who has spoken with BDM and Director to express the urgency in the matter as the whole purchase of the property is now being help up due to their poor turn around time. Judging by a lot of reviews , many people are in the same boat. I would advise avoiding!!

Not impressed. Opened a Young Saver account for my son then had to chase them to post the Passbook. Now the account has reached maturity I want to transfer the funds. Despite emailing the required pdf statement for the nominated account twice Dudley are maintaining they have not received it! Seem quite shambolic - would not bank with them again.

My wife opened a fixed 1yr savings account yesterday morning, managed to login successfully to check everything. An opening deposit was sent by bacs. Later on the day she tried to log in to check but got error message "2FA security failed..." and was unable to log in. Called them and they said there is no block on the account. She tried again this morning, same error.
All the details entered were correct. Tries to reset the password and same error !

I have now changed my review as Dudley said that there were too many people trying to log in, hence the error. Tried it in the evening and it was working

After applying for 2.5 months and with perfect credit score and no debt what so ever, dudley has managed to avoid me by holding onto my surveying money £755. After submitting all my information they wanted an impossible bank statement from the future. In order for me to get this mortgage I will need to travel forward in time 3 weeks and then print the bank statement then come back into the present and submit.

Tells you alot about the ethics of this company.
Please avoid and beware!

The worst lender ever. Their processes are really old fashioned, slow and poor. I would not recommend this lender to anyone. Complete waste of time and energy. Avoid at all costs if you care about your mental health !!
