Deeply disappointing tour
This was an important three generation family vacation. I made arrangements with Egyptra and agreed on an itinerary to visit Luxor with a group of 6. However, stressing the absolute importance that this tour goes perfectly, I requested more than three times that the guide is "very experienced, professional and friendly. I paid extra for a French guide. Each time I was promised we would get this and not to worry. What we got was a guide who dressed like a rapper, never removed his sunglasses, spent most of the day either on his mobile or talking to other guide friends, was unfriendly in the extreme to the point of being rude, whose French could not be understood but in any case walked ahead and spoke not to the group, and gave virtually no information about the sites. Most of the time he sat talking to other guides and just pointed where we should go. And to make an appalling service worse, the guide did not know the inclusions of our tour and told us we had to pay extra until I demanded he check with the Egyptra office. The 15 hour day that was a once on a lifetime event for the family was irretrievably ruined. The response time from Egyptra was very good in setting up the itinerary but failed in delivery . They initially offered only an apology, then 25 euro and then 43 euro refund when pushed. I gave up arguing as we were on the roadside and they wanted cash before we could leave. So around 7 euros per person compensation. Clearly they wanted to protect the profit margin from the day when they should not have sought profit at all since the key service was not offered. It was clear that no one spoke to the guide beforehand directing the importance of my multiple requests for a top French speaking guide and inclusions.

We fully understand your frustration, particularly after your clear requests for an experienced French-speaking guide, and we regret that we did not deliver accordingly. Your comments have been taken very seriously and will be shared with management to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to prevent such situations from happening again.
We also regret that the resolution offered did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is important and will help us improve both our service delivery and how we handle such situations.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
