We were scammed by these last year
We were scammed by these last year !
They fetched our truck and then tried to charge us over £8000 to fix it after they quoted us £1750 !
We asked for them to bring it back and they left half of the parts off when they returned it.
They are rude and totally unprofessional
Corrupt. Thieves. Fruad
Corrupt. Liars. Should be all arrested for fraud. Scum.
Have been scammed out of £7k.
They have had my Van for over over 6 months with constant contact being told my engine was being fixed. They asked for more money telling me different parts needed replacing. Finally I had enough of waiting and being lied to with timelines moving. Once I picked up my van not a single new thing was done on it and in a worst state than when they first got it. Absolutely thieving scum bags. I am left completely out of pocket and the engine is even in a worse state.
Please avoid these at all costs.
THIEVING LIARS AND FRAUDS
AVOID AT ALL COST.
This shocking company are being investigated by the policy and by trading standards! They continuously fold their company and open again under a new name- recently they’ve been using ‘engine care’ and ‘engines 4 trade’.
Untold amount of calls, emails and texts that have all added up to be a waste of time and constant lies
They have taken £7k from my Dad after taking his van 7 months ago to rebuild the engine with a parts bill of £6250 and it’s been pure hell and stress. He has tried continuously to contact them by phone and email and nobody picks up the phone
Harris, Zac and Zara are the main contacts and after finally getting hold of someone tank returned my dads van.
Please if you have also had issues with these cowboys then report them.
They keep creating company's and scamming and robbing people. They then simply fold the existing company and make a new one. They have robbed people out of tens of thousands of pounds.
Scum.
I have a before and after video of my van which speak for themselves
The van when it came back had the engine in pieces in the back and no new parts anywhere to be seen, yet I’ve paid them £7k for a new engine I’ve not received - which is clearly fraud
If you’ve had similar experiences you need to report to the police and trading standards so something can be done about these criminals.
A bunch of criminals
This company is a total fraud, being investigated by the policy and by trading standards! They continuously fold their company and open again under a new name- recently they’ve been using ‘engine care’ and ‘engines 4 trade’.
We have now taken legal action and reported them to the police

See you in Court Engine Restore and Director, Sudhir Singh Behal
Having written a previous review warning of how badly this Company operates, I am forced to leave yet another review before intended court claim. I wont go into the whole story again as you will understand how unprofessional this company is from all other reviews. But having collected my unrepaired engine and incurred 2 lots of courier charges (to deliver and collect), I was promised a refund of my deposit of £600. I spoke to Zara who then followed up with a text confirming this. Since then nothing. Complete radio silence. No call answering, no e mail replies and no response to letters. My next step is to put them in small claims court in my home town. I don't expect them to turn up and judgement will be awarded in my favour. After which I will have to apply for a warrant to send a sheriff to recover my money plus costs. The sheriff will be given the name of the Director Sudhir Singh Behal and they will be instructed to do whatever is necessary to recover my money. Please think twice before using this company.
DON'T GO NEAR THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE
Serious dissatisfaction with the service I received regarding a Kia Sportage engine rebuild in July.
At that stage I had looked at customer reviews and the majority were good.
At the outset, I was quoted what appeared to be a fair price. However, after work commenced, I was informed that an additional £3,900 would be required for further parts.
When the vehicle was returned, it initially seemed to perform satisfactorily. Within four weeks, however, the engine began producing a loud ticking and knocking noise, rendering the car unsafe to drive. Consequently, I returned the vehicle to Engine Restore on 8 October at a cost of £200. I was told there was an investigation scheduled on 9 October.
From that point, communication became extremely difficult. My calls were repeatedly ignored, and emails sent to the company bounced back. Eventually, I managed to speak with a staff member named Zara, who confirmed that the car was still under warranty but admitted that no inspection had been carried out, despite the vehicle having been with them for ten days. Her manner was rude, and when I requested a timeframe for action, she replied, “I don’t work for you.”
Only after I stated that I would consider legal action did I receive a report indicating that a faulty intake manifold required replacement. I was told that this issue would be referred to the warranty provider, but that I would be liable for the cost of the part and labour if it was not covered.
Given the lack of professionalism and transparency, I arranged for the vehicle to be collected and inspected by an independent garage. Their report showed that the true cause of the fault was an incorrectly fitted crankshaft, which had become partially detached. I was very fortunate not to have driven the vehicle further, as doing so could have resulted in catastrophic engine failure.
I suggested to Zara that it was fair that she re-imbursed £228 to cover the inspection and repair of the car and the £200 delivery charge of the undrivable car to them.
This suggestion has been ignored, DON'T GO NEAR THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE recent customer reviews have all been very bad and concur with me experience
Scam, report to the police immediately!
I strongly advise anyone to avoid this company. I paid £5,000 upfront for a replacement engine for my Ford Ranger, but things quickly went wrong. They began asking for more money before any proper work was done, which raised alarm bells.
After doing some research, I discovered that others have also reported stolen vehicles and large sums of money lost to this company. I am now in the process of pursuing legal action and have reported the matter to the police and my bank to recover the funds.
This experience has been incredibly stressful, leaving me and my daughter without a vehicle and thousands of pounds out of pocket. I urge anyone affected to contact their bank and the police immediately, the more people who report this, the better chance we have of getting this operation shut down for good.
I have now hired a lawyer and I will not stop until this is properly dealt with and these people are held accountable, shut down and arrested.
If you have also been a victim of this thrift crime please reach out to me so we can deal with this matter together
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
In March we sent our Ford Kuga for a full engine rebuild. The initial quote was £1,900 including delivery, which had to be paid upfront by bank transfer only, and we paid promptly. After a couple of weeks of silence, Harris informed us of additional major issues costing £3,400 plus 20% VAT (£4,080 total), also requiring upfront payment. Weeks passed with no updates, despite repeated messages. Harris promised calls and updates but rarely delivered.
He then claimed that, as company policy, all external engine components — ECU, injectors, wiring loom — needed testing. Weeks later, he said these were faulty and would require £1,600 upfront to replace. And if we didn’t want to pay, the engine would not be guaranteed. All these parts had shown no issues before being sent, yet we paid again.
Communication remained poor. Excuses included defective ECUs they were sourcing, but eventually Harris stopped responding. We were then contacted by a staff member, Steff, who was rude and aggressive from the start. She claimed to fear for our family’s safety and threatened to charge us for storage because she can, even though delays were their responsibility.
We decided to visit the garage ourselves. Although told they were closed on Saturdays, we went there on a Saturday in heavy rain and spoke to Zac, the manager. Our Ford Kuga was pushed against a fence with bonnet and boot wide open, gearbox and engine parts in the boot, and oil across the boot and bumper. Zac promised the car would be valeted — it wasn’t. He also promised priority work the following week and updates, none of which were kept.
When we asked why nothing had been done, Zac blamed a family emergency my wife said does no one cover you he said I wasn’t talking to you, then said for us to “F off”. He claimed the work would be done the following Wednesday but seemed unaware of ECU requirements or preexisting electrical issues. I had the sense to voice record my visits to the garage for evidence in case it went to court.
1 collected the car and immediately noticed juddering under acceleration. Zac said it needed “bedding in.” Over the following weeks, further problems appeared:
• Oil leaks from the rebuilt engine
• Turbocharger/ sensor problems
• Air-conditioning compressor non-functional (it worked perfectly before)
• Start/Stop system failure despite it being a new battery
• Missing locking wheel nut.
• Warning lights on the dash that wont clear.
They still refuse to provide an invoice for the £4,080 of parts fitted. They now blame the 15 weeks to “pre-existing electrical issues,” which they never once informed us of and refused to tell us what they were.
For comparison, my car, a Jaguar F-Pace, needed an engine rebuild just 5 weeks after purchase in June, after a turbo failure seized the engine. A different company repaired it under warranty in one week for £4,000, and it now runs perfectly. This makes our 15-week ordeal with the Ford Kuga and £7,580 paid look even worse. We strongly believe that if we had not visited the garage ourselves, the car would still be there, as they had our money upfront and no incentive to complete the work. The mechanic who rebuilt the F-Pace confirmed we were being ripped off.
We left a review online, not on their website as reviews are switched off, which speaks volumes. When we contacted them about the ongoing engine issues, 57 days into the 6-month warranty, they refused to do any warranty work unless we removed our review, stopped posting elsewhere, and apologised.
Our experience has been one of repeated delays, inconsistent information, poor workmanship, and rude, intimidating behaviour. We have paid £1,900 + £4,080 + £1,600 = £7,580 in total, and our Ford Kuga is still not right. We have taken legal advice and will be pursuing this matter through a small claims court.
Based on our experience, we strongly advise others to avoid this company entirely.
Engine restore has had my car since…
Engine restore has had my car since April the qouted me a price for the rebuild with a promise that it would take a few weeks but 3 days later the told my engine needed extra parts to the tune of £8787 which I paid with the assurance that I would get my car back asap my engine is still in pieces I was told that I could get my car back as it is but they wouldn’t be refunding of almost £9000 so it’s of to court I go I have tried and tried to contact Harris but without success I hope Romford trading standards step in
Engine Repair
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Harris for fixing my engine, I can honestly say that I had a good experience with this company, had to pay over what I was quoted as there was substantial damage to my engine, had all photos sent and they kept me updated. I can honestly recommend this company.
DO NOT USE!!!!!!
DO NOT USE - This is a rebrand of engineer engineers. They also go by many other names. They had our van since January. Initially very friendly and responsive, I paid for reconditioned engine parts. When they aren’t getting a payment they are impossible to contact. People I have dealt with are Del, Harris and Zara. I reported to trading standards and would encourage everyone to do the same. Keith Bush has been very helpful and did a site visit and confirmed our van was there. I was told the engine had been rebuilt but was over fuelling so needed new fuel injectors which I paid for, I was then told it needed a new cylinder head which they were waiting for. But heard nothing for 2 months despite trying frequently to contact by email, phone, text message. When trading standards visited the people on site phoned a lady (Zara) who spoke with Keith and told him that engine engineers lost their property and out sourced the work to them (engine 4 trade), but they also now couldn’t contact engine engineers and didn’t have my contact details. This is obviously all nonsense. Zara wouldn’t give her contact details to Keith, so he had to leave his number. At first we couldn’t find engine 4 trade online, I’ve now found a website with very similar branding to engine engineers. I have had my van collected and delivered to a local garage today. It is a complete mess. Engine in bits in the back, no idea how much of the engine is there. It looks like something off a scrap heap, oily marks over all the inside and outside. They are scamming people out of their money and ruining our vehicles. Please report to trading standards via citizens advice so they can get full picture of their operation - which has many different business names.
They are scammers!
I was duped by these people when they were engine engineers ltd.
They took my car and my money neither have I seen since including my blue badge walking stick and dogs bed!
Yes its Harris again, if anyone has paid money into the company file a complaint at companies house and block them from dissolving the company ( I did this with their last company) also reports them on action fraud uk.
As a business, they charge to take your car and then quote an extortionate rate to fix it in the hope that they have a free scrap car to sell on, it is not a business. all the google reviews are from people they know and have given 5 star reviews to their past company's to lure victims.
It is a constant change of premises and company name but the same people
SCAMMERS - SUDHIR SINGH BEHAL BEWARE!
Having paid nearly £600 in advance and couriered an engine to them for repair, they now no longer answer any of their e mails or phone calls. Further investigation strongly suggests they are scammers.
Names to mention are Harris who has gone silent, Zac the engineer who has gone silent and Sudhir Singh Behal who is Company Director. PLEASE DO NOT USE.
Help needed to get our car back after 3 months
Could anyone with a negative review try and contact me please. This company has had our car for 3 months. We are struggling to get any information from them. They do not answer our messages or phone to advise when we will finally get our car back. We are very concerned if we ever will as they discuss a 4 week turnaround. I would appreciate if anyone could contact me as to what measures you took to recover your car from them. We are currently working with a solicitor to go down the legal path as we have already paid over £9,000!!!! Many thanks.
Just had my BMW engine rebuilt and…
Just had my BMW engine rebuilt and honestly, I’m so impressed. The team were really helpful, kept me updated, and the car feels like a new smoother, more powerful, and way more reliable. Can’t fault the service at all. Would definitely recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Engine Rebuild – Excellent Service from Haris!
I had my engine rebuilt recently and honestly couldn’t be more impressed with the entire process. From the first phone call to the moment I picked up the car, Haris was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful.
He took the time to explain exactly what needed doing, gave me regular updates throughout, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to a high standard. The engine now runs like a dream. Smooth, quiet, and powerful. You can really tell the work was done with care and precision.
Haris clearly knows his stuff and takes pride in what he does. It’s rare to find someone this honest and reliable in the motor trade. If you’re in the UK and need an engine rebuild, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Haris and his team. Top notch service all the way through!
I had a terrible experience with Engine…
I had a terrible experience with Engine restore that I just have to share. I took my car to them to fix and they had it for over 3.5 months, and they charged me a whopping £8,000 even though quoted 5 weeks and £1,900! Not only did they return my car with damage to bodywork, but the sat nav screen wasnt working as it was before they had it, and numerous warning lights on the dashboard.
To make matters worse, when they stored the gearbox in the boot , they didnt bother to clean it. The inside and outside of my car was filthy despite their promise to valet it inside and out. Plus they left the boot open for months , soaking the interior and now it smells terrible.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are also on some sort of tax fiddle as they are running it with various different business names and all very suspicous. Beware of Harris zack and Steph they are deeply unpleasent unprofessional and rude individuals.
Oh and the car drives worse now than before the problem occurred so not even sure they fixed the engine properly either.
Really polite and knowledgeable
Really polite, understanding and knowledgeable team at Engine Restore👍
