I would avoid this place

I would avoid this place like the plague, I used this place for 4 Brand new tyre's which took 3 HOURS to fit then one of them kept going down, I went back to ask for help to sort it but they said they don't have time to fix there own work and to come back in the afternoon to see if they have time then. What type of service is that? I took it to another garage to get it fixed. Save your money people. They don't respect your custom or your vehicle. Oh this was at the Leek Road branch if you were wondering.

Great service

I had a disappointing visit to Halfords where I was told they couldn’t fit me a headlight bulb to my Hyundai i10, so I called F1 on Leek Road, Hanley, Tom came to me in reception and talked me through the repair and costs. I booked in for the following day. On the day Tom came to me and during the repair he told me I needed two bulbs and explained to me about how awkward they are to replace, but he did the job in good time and the cost was very reasonable. He wouldn’t accept a small tip and also didn’t take full credit, he said Taz had helped.
So thank you Tom, who by the way is very polite and friendly, and thank you Taz for helping.
Tom is a credit to your company.

Disappointing service when replacing a tyre

I went for tyre replacement after getting a flat from a pothole. The first thing to say is the tyre was a good price for the brand and product.

The mechanic said that despite them feeling the damage to the tyre was consistent with such an incident, they would only write something saying so on non-headed paper, without a name, date or signature on it.

They also refused to rotate the other tyres.

I complained to customer services about these issues, and they said that that is what they would expect their employee to have done.
They don't want their employees to pass an opinion on the nature of any damage and won't rotate tyres even on request.

Very disappointing overall.

Spoke with Tom on Saturday 10th Jan…

Spoke with Tom on Saturday 10th Jan regarding the price for four tyres.
He was happy to price match £569.89 or there about.
Called Wednesday and still not arrived advised they’d be in Thursday 14th - still waiting Friday 15th.
Shocking service from a leading garage.
Looking at some of the reviews I’m not the first unhappy customer.
£569. Is not a small amount.
Paid a bit more from a small independent garage having them fitted Monday.
Small independents may not be cheaper but more honest.

F1 Autocentre Hanley, not what it was

I’ve used F1 Autocentre in Hanley for years, for MOTs, basic servicing and even fitting aftermarket parts. I’ve always found them to be professional, helpful and honest, so preferred to go back to them even when I moved a little further away.
I’ve taken a bit of a break due to buying a car from a main dealer and largely using their services. Now that I no longer have that car I came straight back to F1 and I’m gutted by the drop in service levels.
I booked my car in for an MOT, A/C refresh and (free) wheel alignment check.
On collecting the car, I asked if the alignment check had been done, as I hadn’t been presented with a report.
“Oh, no, I missed that. We couldn’t have done it anyway, our equipment is knackered”.
“What about the air con refresh?”, I asked.
“No, I missed that as well. I can do that though”.
I then had to help him to operate the A/C, so he could crack open a can of spray and leave it in my cup holder for 5 minutes. Wish I’d just done that myself, to be honest but I guess they have to make money somehow.
He then said, “Give the Newcastle branch a ring, they’ll be able to do your wheel alignment. We need to get ours sorted, we’re losing a fu**ing fortune”

I’m sorry but calling me “Sir” at the end of every sentence doesn’t make up for not even bothering to check my order, having a half-arsed attitude to the whole process and only telling me at the end of my visit that I’d need to travel to another town and give up more of my time if I wanted to get the alignment check I’d ordered.
I didn’t. As there was an advisory for one of the tyres, I would normally have gone back to them but, instead I’ve paid to have them fitted at a different company, together with 2 wheel alignment.
What a shame, I guess it’s not what it used to be.

Booking time wrong, tyre not ordered, then fitted to the wrong axle

I booked through Asda Tyres on Thu 18 Sep at 11:05 (Order #ASD360P32HVW) for one Kormoran SUV 225/55R19 99 (£120.62), to be fitted at F1 AUTOCENTRES (Leek Road, Hanley, ST1 3NF) on Wed 24 Sep 2025 at 10:30.

I arrived at 10:25, showed my email confirmation for 10:30, but was told my slot was 10:00 and I had to wait. I waited over an hour in cold weather, only to be told the tyre wasn’t available—apparently it hadn’t been ordered by Asda.

After I complained to Asda, I received a call the next day that the tyre had arrived and to come back. I clearly explained I already had a Kormoran on the front, bought another to match on the same axle, and wanted it fitted front left.

After ~30 minutes I was told the new tyre had been fitted to the rear, where the tyre was fine. From the outcome it appears the team simply swapped complete wheels front↔rear instead of removing the old front tyre and properly refitting the new Kormoran to the front and the previous (good) rear tyre back to the rear. The result: I now have a new Kormoran on the front (as intended), but the worn old front tyre ended up on the rear, and the better rear tyre was disposed of—not what I asked for.

This experience cost me two visits, significant waiting time, and left me with an inferior setup vs. what was requested and paid for.

Don't trust this company anymore, try to add unnecessary repairs and can't balance wheels correctly.

Booked for MOT and 2 tyres.
Received a call stating that they had removed the wheels and they didn't think it would pass it's MOT as brakes needed doing. Quoted extra few hundred and offered me a payment option when I exclaimed HOW Much?
Told them to put it through it's MOT as is.
Car passed it's MOT.
Had to return a second time for wheel balancing as car shook terrible.
Wheels were supposedly rebalanced.
Month later I've had to take my car to a different repair centre and now my wheels are correctly balanced.

Edit: I definitely will not be using this branch again.

I had an awful experience with F1

I had an awful experience with F1. I had my car serviced and the wrong brake pads were fitted to my car. They were corsa electrical fitted to my manual corsa. Therefore they were rattling and not fit on correctly. This issue went on for 3/4 weeks after going back 4 times they could not identify the issue. After having gone back after the second time of going back they had fitted electrical tape to one side of my brake pads which is very dangerous to myself and other road users. This issue was identified through Halfords after F1 failing to resolve the issue. Having gone back to F1 with a quote from Halfords they then fixed it after having it for 2 days which shouldn’t have taken that long. I then spoke with the regional manager Richard Bromley about the ongoing issue and the way he spoke to me without not knowing had gone on was very very rude. He then come back offering me a refund which I was not happy with having what I went through. Please do not go to these for a service or MOT as I had a really bad experience and this was my first time there. There was so much to add to this but I think it’s clear it was awful.

Excellent Service

It's nice when you have a slow puncture and you can go to a reliable garage for help. Formula One Autocentres Great service and a good price, this was my experience with the Stoke on Trent, Hanley, Branch. All done in 30 minutes and then we were on our way. Keep up the good work Formula One Autocentres.

Very satisfied as this garage is close…

Very satisfied as this garage is close to home so if I need leave it there it’s just around the corner and they did such a good job the lads did with my car and also good how you can pay in instalments as you can’t at other garages very good job done. Very kind people will be going again when my service is due!

Went to garage for 1 wheel bearing and…

Went to garage for 1 wheel bearing and came back with £450 bill. Bit over price really.
3 hrs labour charge to change 1 wheel bearing.
Never again it's a rip off

This centre is getting worse.

This centre is getting worse.
Last year i turned up for my prebooked MOT to be told can't do it the guy hasn't turned in! Later in the year my daughter had her pre booked MOT & service cancelled as the man was on holiday so not able to rebook her in for the whole month had to ring another number to get a refuund.
Today my husband needed help getting a seized wheel nut off and two men standing around doing nothing - their helpful comment sorry we don't to that! Worst customer service ever AVOID THIS BRANCH

Booked an appointment online in December for January MOT.
Got to the garage and was told that there was no MOT tester…
3 staff stood around and no customers in the garage. I was sent packing with no apology!!
No offer to help with a refund and told to speak to customer services. The manager and 2 x staff had absolutely nothing to do at all as it was completely empty!!
Do your Staff know that they are representing the business?( think not!)
Simply not good enough, is this why the garage was empty…
Another customer lost through bad communication and poor customer relations.
Bye Bye F1 ####

Fantastic price for the tyres fitted. Would definitely use again!

I was looking around for the best deal I could find for 2 tyres for my car. All seemed to be roughly the same kind of price until I came Across Formula One. I had to double check I had entered the tyres size and brand etc as the difference was astonishing!

Granted they had an offer on the brand I wanted so that helped but in total I managed to get 2 Pirelli CInturato P7 tyres fitted at a cost that was around 40% less than the other tyre places in the area! Even without this discount code they were still way cheaper!

Very quick service when I arrived for my appointment and the staff were very polite and helpful. I think you may have a new returning customer going forward!

Poor customer care

I booked my daughters in for MOT today in November (and confirmed in Dec) she arrived today to be told they no longer have a tester and they left in December!
Luckily I booked a week in advance as this left her in a tiz for her test. No contact to tell her or me. Very poor attitude and customer service.
Will not book again!
