MOT failed due to a cut in a tyre. I was told I would have to pay full fee for a retest if I don't get the tyre replaced by ATS.

I had an old tyre in a good condition at home and asked if they could fit it. First they said charge would be £37.50 (more than three times what many people charge for a puncture, balancing, etc). I asked them to check again and they said they only fit new tyres.

I have subsequently read T&Cs on their website and basically the centre told outright lies about MOT retest fees. They even claimed DVSA force them to charge. I asked them how anyone can trust anything they say when they tell outright lies? They stuck to their statement.

I got a local tyre shop to put on my old tyre for £10 and told ATS I would go elsewhere for a new retest. They eventually did agree to retest for free, after calls and discussions, but told me they were doing me a favour.

Wheels and tyres are one of the many repairs listed on their website (I found out later) for a free retest no matter where repairs are carried out as long as you bring vehicle back within 7 days.

They tried everything to force me to get a new tyre from them. Needless to say I will not use ATS again.

They posted here that I should send them more details. I sent those within 30 minutes! But did they bother to look into it? No they did not. No response! Even complaint handling is poor!

First time using Formula One Autocentres and safe to say it won’t be the last! Booked for x4 brand new tyres using their website during Black Friday sales. Secured a fantastic deal with no trouble. Arrived at the centre and handed over the car to them with little to no fuss. Went off on a jolly round the nearby town centre and returned to find they had encountered a slight delay. Delay was explained and apologies were forthcoming which I appreciated, although I didn’t mind waiting around anyway. Tyres were all fitted and inflated to correct pressures which was a nice surprise. The staff I spoke with were all friendly and seemed like top blokes. 24 hours later and still very happy. Would definitely recommend!

Good MOT experience at Formula One Auto Centre Harrow...and has been for several years.
Easy booking online and at a good price via email offer. Conformation email received immediately after booking and payment. Reminder email received 1 day before the booking.
The guy at the reception desk was very polite and friendly.
Car taken in on time and very pleased with the service provided.

Car was booked for service and mot, on the day our booking was cancelled with a reason saying mot station had a failure and will be up and running in 5 days. so we re booked our service and mot. during the day the manager Mario called saying both front tyres need changing and we trusted them. when we went to pick the car I asked to see what was wrong with the tyres one of them was absolutely fine. one of the colleges also said there is nothing wrong with the tyre it has at least 6 to 8 months left in it. Be very careful with these places just to hit there targets they will try to upsell. always ask for proofs.

I call last minute on a Thursday for an urgent coil spring replacement. The guy I spoke with was polite friendly and professional. He went above and beyond to assist me and got me booked in the next day. My car was ready when they said it would. It was left clean and tidy. They replaced my coil spring at a super reasonable price. They even replaced 2 bulbs at no extra cost and also diagnosed an oil leak. I will definitely be using these guys again for any further problems. I.e the oil leak. I normally use halfords but will not be returning there. Its f1 for me from now on. Lovely staff super prices. Highly recommended them.

Fantastic customer service and professionalism at really competitive prices. What more can you ask for? I bought tyres online for my range rover and these guys were very friendly and accommodating at fitting these in short notice. The wheels had just been refurbished and they took care to fit tyre without any marks on the wheels and carried out the job very professionally. They charged almost half the price for fitting a tyre than what some other independents were charging. Would definitely use again and highly recommend!! TOP MARKS F1!!

We have an old car which developed a squeak. James and the team, took care of that and a few other niggles, having taken the time to do a detailed investigation and explain the results. The bill was the same as the quote, and they called to say when ready etc. We had really good experience

I ordered tyres online and booked an appointment for tyre replacement as well as wheel alignment at the Harrow Branch. A couple of hours before the appointment, i called them to confirm i will be coming as the workshop was half an hour away from my place, the manager on the line said the tyres are not delivered yet so the appointment is cancelled and he will have to book me in for next week.(good that i called otherwise there will be one more trip down the drain). Next week when i went there at 2:30 pm, the tyres were replaced but i was denied the wheel alignement saying they need to go, mind you at that time it was between 3:30 to 3:45 pm and they shut at 5pm on a Saturday. Since the guys were nice to me i told them i will come next week. I called them a day before to book an appointment but the manager didnt give me an appointment but asked me to come at 3:30 pm. I went there earlier around 2:30 pm, they again denied me the alignment as they wanted to close early. There was hardly one car on the ramp . I have never seen such a pathic and insensitive customer service ever.

Ultimately, I received a great service from F1 in Harrow when they fitted my Black Circles-supplied tyres. Indeed, the manager and sole tyre-fitter could not have been more helpful and flexible in dealing with a job that had not been booked-in. However, by contrast, the temporary manager (Richie) who had been in the branch the previous week when I had arrived a couple of minutes late for a booked appointment could not have been less helpful. Refusing to fit my tyres on the basis that it would have a knock-on effect to later appointments, referring to me a 'young man' (I am 56 years old...), and then failing to book the slot he identified for a whole week later to fit my badly-needed tyres, was simply the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced. If I were the F1 area manager who deploys Richie, I'd make sure that he received some additional training in customer service.

Currently in the middle of a horrible experience regarding this business. 12 hours after my car was serviced and MOT’d with formula one in harrow, my car completely broke down on the M6 motorway. a local reputable garage near to where we broke down a long way from home repaired the car and identified multiple issues with the service undertaken the day before as the cause. Formula one have refused to investigate the issue properly and I have been forced to go to the motor ombudsman. the regional manager for the harrow branch is particularly rude and unhelpful. This has caused a lot of unnecessary stress. I would not recommend.

Car was booked in for annual MOT inspection at the Harrow Branch.

Been visiting the Branch for a number of years and John always goes above and beyond with sound tips.

Worse centre to deal with and fit tyres. The manger of Harrow branch John is simply unhelpful. Appears unbothered with customer service. I booked my tyres for fitting in the morning. The tyres were available but he said I can’t promise I can fit them today. I offered to leave the car for the day. He said the same. He offered rebooking for a different day. What’s the point of making a booking? Just close the centre and do something else. Doesn’t even deserve a star. Poor
When there is so many available centres, just avoid.

Can't fault tyre price but troubled by leaving F1 autocentre after fitting two new Dunlop sport bluresponse tyres to front of my 16 plate Corsa 30.04.22
Front tyres had eco pressure (as per car door pillar info 40,39 psi) and existing rear tyres had comfort pressure 31 psi(as per car door pillar info and handbook)
RAC advised contacting vauxhall ...vauxhall advised not filling the tyres greater than 34 psi. ..this is contrary to written car spec .. !
Contacted Dunlop and although they assured me the tyres were safe , according to ETRTO to be driven safely up to 50.7 psi. I was just wanting the optimum safety psi for safety and longevity ..

I reduced the pressure in the front to 34 psi and will see how it goes !
F1 autocentre did offer to adjust the tyre pressure but it seems I cannot get a definitive answer to my enquiry !
