Would not recommend Fightback, when I was assessed from D.L.A to pip, despite spending literally hundreds of pounds for their assistance I went to zero points from having high mobility and middle care. I got no receipts for any money spent with them, later I went to the C.A.B for help and am now on enhanced for daily care and mobility, the C.A.B did not charge me anything at all. This was after taking a claim to tribunal.

Would not take our appeal saying that my because my partner is on a waiting list for adult autism assessment, it wasn't pertinent to when he originally applied for PIP. So feeling disheartened, we dropped the appeal and are receiving no help from anyone anywhere. Bleak times. Anyone with an invisible disability, good luck with getting any help from this organisation or any help from the government.

Fightback assisted with my Tribunal appeal. I paid for advice phone call which was around £60 and advertised that this would be a detailed call, this was 5 minutes. I then paid another fee for them to handle the appeal statement to the court. When I was sent this, they had gone against the descriptors I had appealed in my MR without prior warning. I then questioned this and got a very rude defensive call. As the appeal paperwork was due I had no choice for them to send it in. They asked if I wanted to withdraw and do it myself, which I declined because of the added stress and anxiety hoping to wouldn’t be an issue on the day.

I was then hassled to have someone with me on the call from fightback which would have been another fee. I declined many times.

My appeal won at tribunal and I paid a reasonable donation considering the service I had already paid for and service I’d received.

I’ve now been hassled on emails for weeks asking for a donation (when I’ve already paid weeks ago) and the final email was rather disgusting to be honest, stating ‘I agreed to the fees beforehand and I could have withdrawn my application if I didn’t want to pay it’

I will never use fightback again and either do it myself now I know the process or go to welfare rights who will help for free.

For a not for profit ‘charity’ who is meant to help disabled people to constantly ask for money is disgusting.

Wonderful company, completely dismiss what is said below, I have Aspergers and the team were wonderful with me and helped me gain an award of PIP really easily, and with minimum stress. They ask for a small donation but it is not compulsory and I was happy to pay it forward after I received my backpay, which was several thousand pounds so minute in comparrison. I had a lawyer on my call and the staff always dealt with me with courtesy and compassion. I would recommend them to everyone who has trouble with their welfare benefits.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above poster with the negative review. I’m very hesitant to post this in case they contact me directly as I’ve seen them respond to others, but I think I should speak out to hopefully help other people, so here goes.

I have autism and anxiety, and find phone calls extremely difficult. For people who claim to be understanding about disability, they were not understanding at all about this, and continued to call me repeatedly when I was not in a state to be able to answer (despite initially agreeing that things could in fact be done over email). Whenever I was able to answer, it was, as suspected, all stuff that could’ve been emailed to me. They seemed to forget every single time that I can’t usually do phone calls, and were not willing to make reasonable adjustments for the most part.

I was also harassed for a donation with numerous guilt tripping emails and phone calls, after already having given them an extortionate amount of money for their service. I understand that they are a charity and rely on donations to continue their work, but being repeatedly badgered to donate when you were not happy with the service, and additionally when you’re disabled and struggle to manage life with no help, is a bit much. You’d think they’d be a bit more understanding about simple things like a donation being difficult to do. It definitely seems like they need more education on mental health and learning disability.

They did help me get 2 or 4 points back (can’t remember exactly how many), and therefore I got my standard mobility back that was taken away from me at my reassessment, and I am extremely grateful to them for this, but the sheer amount of additional stress that the company placed upon me during this time was absolutely not worth it.

When you are a vulnerable person trying to get your benefits back, with nobody to help and support you, you use this service hoping that it will take some weight off your shoulders. For me, it only added to it. They were shockingly not understanding about my mental health and difficulty with phone calls, and even said that part of my submission was “silly.” I had said that I have significant problems communicating through speech, and they responded that it was silly of me to say this when I work in a customer facing role, despite the fact that 1) I work 15 hours a week (a very small portion of my life), and 2) I have been there for many years and so I have learned the script for that particular situation. Communicating effectively in everyday life when you have autism is COMPLETELY different to just saying the script you have learned over the course of 9 years. Additionally, by PIP’s own criteria, to be assessed as being able to do something means that you are able to do it repeatedly, reliably, and in a reasonable length of time. I therefore don’t think it’s silly to say that I have significant problems communicating, but this comment made me feel even worse about the whole situation, to the point where I had to get my friend to read all of their communication to me because I had become so increasingly anxious about the whole situation.

If somebody is supposed to be helping you, you should not be dreading any kind of communication from them. My friend who works in this sort of job area was also shocked by how they were acting and what they were saying.

I don’t doubt that they do a great job, and that they do help people get their benefits back, which is awesome. However, if you’re looking for someone who understands mental health and autism, this is not the charity for you, and I’m writing this to warn you that you may well feel much worse about the whole situation once you involve them as I did. Just be cautious.

I cannot fault FB4J. They dealt with my change over from DLA to PIP and now my review. Amy dealt with my paper work and supported me both times 👍 I'm happy to say I would recommend them 😀 Yes there is charges depending on which option suits you. Well worth the payment for all that they do. Each and every member of staff are kind, courteous and have a great deal of understanding of what you go through on a daily basis. A rather disappointing experience.
We were told we would be eligible for the enhanced rate on daily living and mobility for pip, but when our application came back with 0 points: so we went to fightback4justice to help with the appeal. The original quote they gave us to help seemed reasonable, with an optional donation at the end.
Sadly we felt they gave us bad advice, and the original fee quoted seemed to go up as time went on (we were told help with a tribuneral was an additional £60, however we were charged £120: 60 for prep, and 60 to be on the phone call where they said nothing at all).
We ended up only getting the lower rate on mobility, which is next to nothing compared to what we expected. A large part of this we put down to bad advice and prep from fightback.
After this disappointing 2 star experience, I have knocked another one star off as they are now harassing us for the 'donation', which is seems is not optional at all. They will harass vulnerable people with constant phone calls and verging on rude emails demanding another £400.
Rather unacceptable behaviour in my opinion.
