We bought a £1,500 Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer — and it has been a disaster.

Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher – Model DD60DH17, Serial Number RUG348386

On 9 September 2024, an engineer attended under appointment SA-0003431634 to investigate an issue where the dishwasher was tripping the electrical fuse. The cause was identified as a faulty dispenser, which was replaced at a total cost of £279.98.

Unfortunately, just 18 months later, the exact same fault has happened again: the dishwasher is once again tripping the main electrical fuse during operation.

What is particularly disappointing is that customer service has now advised us that the repair is no longer covered under warranty, despite the fact that the same major component appears to have failed again only 18 months after it was replaced.

When paying a premium price for a Fisher & Paykel appliance, you expect premium performance, quality and, above all, reliability and durability. Spending £1,500 on a dishwasher only to experience the same significant electrical fault again within two years falls well short of what a customer should reasonably expect from a high-end appliance.

The way this has been handled by customer service has made the situation even more frustrating.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend Fisher & Paykel and would seriously reconsider buying from this brand.

Exceptional service from Irod today. He diagnosed the issue with our Fisher & Paykel fridge-freezer immediately and solved it efficiently, with care and skill, explaining exactly what had happened (it was a blockage) and how to prevent in the future. It was easy to book the appointment and our slot time was updated on the day from a 5 hour to a 1 hour window. Brilliant.

When investing in Fisher & Paykel appliances, we expect high-end performance, quality materials, and long-term durability. Paying a premium price for equipment only to have the exact same major component fail again after two years falls well short of reasonable expectations for product resistance and reliability.

I would avoid that brand

We have had a Fisher & Paykel fridge for 4 years and we love it. Unfortunately the device developed a fault, door alarm beeping 15 times and high temp light flashing. I called the Customer Helpline on Thursday afternoon and I had an engineer in my house less then 24 hours later replacing a faulty fan, under warranty. Excellent service.

Dean was very reassuring that he could repair the fridge, very nice to meet John also, we have 3 appliances and wouldn’t hesitate to call the engineer if we have any problems.

We had a dishwasher that was still not draining after following all troubleshooting. Dean and John were fantastic - great service.

Adam Smith was punctual & communicative, he offered us an appointment sooner than the one we booked & arrived promptly. He appeared knowledgeable & seemed to fix the problem with our refrigerator. He also offered suggestions to prevent the problem from recurring.
