Not sure what the extra £10 I paid was for!
I used Gapyear.com on the recommendation of Pod Volunteer, with whom I had a booked to join a marine conservation project on Koh Tao, Thailand. I had found flights on Expedia.com for the trip but decided to use Gapyear for the reason stated above. Gapyear booked the exact same flights I had found on Expedia but charge a £10 commission on top. After making the booking and payment I had to chase them for confirmation of my booking and flight itinerary. Plus I was unable to choose my seats or book-in online, which I have always been able to do with Expedia. I regret I am unable to recommend them.

Thank you for taking the time provide feedback of your recent experience with Gapyear.com. It is important that we receive all manner of feedback as it allows us to review our policies and procedures.
I am sorry to read that on this occasion you have been left dissatisfied with your experience. Having spoken with your consultant I understand that the pricing discrepancy was explained at the time of booking. To reiterate, this was not commission, but our ticketing fee that incorporates addition securities that our competitors do not provide. I am sorry if these details were not explained more comprehensively.
Further, please accept my apologise that you were not able to check-in online. This is extraordinary as Malaysian Airlines do allow agency and non-agency bookings to access their online portal. I sincerely hope this did not impact too negatively on your trip.
I sincerely hope, despite the issues raised, you were able to have an enjoyable time in Koh Tao.
