Don't bother...
I subscribed to Gardeners’ World in January under a 6-month offer and unfortunately my experience has been consistently poor since then.
I’ve only received the year planner and one printed issue, which I had to chase. More importantly, I’ve never been able to link my subscriber number to my online account, meaning I cannot access subscriber-only content or benefits.
I’ve contacted customer services via email multiple times over several months and have repeatedly been told it is due to a “system migration” and is being worked on. However, this has been ongoing since at least March with no resolution.
Communication has also been inconsistent. At one point I was told I was trying to access via the app (I wasn’t), and when I called today I was told there was no known technical issue at all, which contradicts previous emails.
As a result, I also missed out on the 30% subscriber discount for Gardeners’ World Live, which was one of the key benefits I expected when subscribing.
Overall, the service feels disorganised and support responses are generic and repetitive rather than actually resolving the issue.
I really wanted this subscription to work, but at this point I’m disappointed with both the access problems and the customer service.
Subscribed jan, had 1 mag and billed for 12 months.
Subscribed in jan, '6 month special price £12', part of the subscription was £12.99 auto 6 month renewal..
First mag was due march.. never came. Has an email saying was delayed and would receieve soon, next mag came, fine, may no magazine.. received another email say magazines delayed would get it shortly.. then out comes another payment in june for the next lot of 6 months.. baring in mind ive had ONE magazine for the first 6 months.. and its not even been a full 6 months since i subscribed orginally (signed up 29th jan), so i called and requested refund for the 1st lot £12.00 (and the second lot for 12.99) as far as i am concerned they havent stuck to their part of their contract and provided me with 6 magazines, then had the cheek to charge me for the next lot (spoke on the phone to lady called 'mataleleng moektsi', based in south africa, could have told me anything lets be honest), she said I SHOULD have notified them within 2 weeks of not getting the magazine, yet i had already been emailed twice saying i wasnt/getting them or hadnt got them, so why would i email, as they are already aware, also from previous experience their magazines dont come on time so im just thinking 'it'll come' (also who has time these days to chase up magazines every 2 weeks). Seems like that part wasnt sinking in.. yet said they wont refund for the second payments as i signed up for the autorenewal on the trial price - although its not even been 6 months yet and theyve already taken my money.
NOTE: my friend brought me this so called subscription last year my birthday, had lots of missing mags then and she was told the postmen where stealing them(for free seeds).. obviously this wasnt the case.. she asked if i wanted it again this year and i said no, and did it myself as thought if there are any problems, i would be able to sort it myself without hassling her. Now they are using the fact i didnt contact them as an excuse to not refund me. Again why would i, when ive already been told BY THEM the magazine is delayed They obviously already know.
I will be contacting MY BANK for a refund, and contacting TRADING STANDARDS and WATCHDOG and suggest other people with same/similar issues do the same, I will also be reviewing the magazine subscription provider, 'Immediate Media Company Limited' with this same review - apparently based in london, but people in south africa have access to my person details. Poor.
'Mataeleng' told me, she sent an email with cancellation of the subscription but i havent received it, ao assume its not been cancelled. Also told i would get refund for the £12.00 and have an email for that- checked all emails and havent received either. Probably good idea to use a call recorder if you decide to ring them yourself.. but even better dont sign up to start with!
Appalling Customer Service!

It says I don't have account, then user name wrong, the link provided doesn't work.. the list goes on. The net result is we are paying for subscription we can't access!!! Not happy!
CONNED OUT OF £9.99!
I paid £9.99 for the May edition just for the offer of 24 free perennials collection which was announced on the sealed envelope the magazine came in. Inside the magazine it said "offer closes 15th June" When I tried to order them on 21st May they said "out of stock". They didn't say on the outside of the envelope that you might NOT get the offer. It's just a con trick.

Avoid a subscription to BBC Gardeners World Magazine. I paid on 12th March for 6 month subscription. As of today not received a magazine and after numerous frustrating phone calls to customer services who state magazine delayed, replacement will be sent, waited again and on 24th April told no replacement sent as aware that they’re missing the 2 for 1 garden vouchers. On 27th April got e-mail saying they’ll issue a full refund. No refund received either. You have been warned
Poor service
Up till recently the subscription had been ok,but since the beginning of 2026 slow deliveries and now the magazine is just not arriving and when I phone they say it’s been sent but they will send a replacement but that doesn’t arrive. Extremely poor service

Jeg har i flere år købt et gave-abonnement til jul som har fungeret upåklageligt, men da buysubscriptions går over til at hedde Immediate går det hele galt. De hæver pengene FIRE gange og på trods af adskillige mails og telefonopkald er der stadig ikke styr på det. Nu har fire måneder senere modtager jeg en mail om, at de vil refundere mig, men i stedet for at refundere, så hæver de flere penge! Ud af det blå! Undgå dette firma med alt hvad I har!
Still have not received a single copy
Purchased a gift subscription for my mother over two months ago, still not received a single issue. Contacted customers services when overdue, was told to wait, contacted again, said they would send out a replacement which could take up to two weeks. Two weeks gone so contacted again, they will send another replacement but have to wait another two weeks before they consider it lost! The next issue will already be out - terrible service.
Avoid
As mentioned by another reviewer, cancellation of a subscription seems to be impossible. After having previously received confirmation of cancellation from GW and a stop placed on the company by my bank, further payment has been taken as a result of Buysubscriptions changing its name to Immediatemedia. Avoid.
Never received the Magazines
Took the £12 for the subscription I signed up to (6 issues) Never received the magazines - rang them and he promised to send out the two missing mags never received then rang again and got a totally different answer. They tried to make me subscribe again but I said no - just refund the £12 - I have a feeling I will not receive this back. This was Multimedia I went through. AVOID
Awful customer service
Awful customer service! Missing 2x issues, then had 2x issues with no seeds (which they’re meant to have (February and March). They say they’ll sort it then they never do.
I will not be subscribing again. Customer service based in South Africa.

I've never received my subscription and every time I ring I'm told they'll escalate my enquiry and nothing happens.
I ordered it at the beginning of December 2025 and this last phone call was today 19 January 2026.

Cannot cancel subscription…
Cannot cancel subscription via the online account. Customer Service unhelpful/stopped responding to emails about the problem. I don't know if the subscription has been cancelled before renewal. I'd recommend anyone to reconsider a subscription to these people.
I thought Gardeners' World was a BBC brand, how come the BBC let these people drag the brand into a negative territory ?!
Customer service is dreadful
Customer service is dreadful. Website hasn't worked properly for at least 6 months. They keep saying they're working on it. Paid for subscription last year but couldn't access Premium Content. My husband renewed my subscription as Xmas present for 2026 but unable to find out my new subscription number.

I got one replacement as a gesture of "good will" Since than,nothing changed. Requests are not answered. Cancellation not possible. It is unbelievable how the treat their customers. This is simply fraud.
The Police should investigate these people
Trying to cancel a subscription is impossible. The phone is never answered and I cannot find an on-line way to cancel. If the BBC is involved in this magazine subscription or even if it is not, they also need to sort this out as it is clearly a scam that reflects on them.
Massive Scam - Avoid at all costs!
Once you subscribe you are unable to cancel - the phone line doesn't get answered and the web account has been disabled by them changing the login info.
This is a massive scam as once you are in you can't get out - like a cult!
We tried cancel a year ago but they kept taking payments, they ignore requests by letter and don't bother answering the phone.
The bank have tried to help with blocking the payment but they change their name so it doesn't get blocked. The only way out is seemingly to close the account they are taking money from and wait for them to contact you! This really is a rubbish scheme so please avoid at all costs! you have been warned.
I used to like watching this programme…
I used to like watching this programme but have noticed it's got too snobbish. It seems to focus on people who have enormous gardens somewhere in the countryside and enormous houses too!
What about the rest of us who live in more modest homes and have a small piece of garden? There are also people living in flats who may have a window box? I need to watch a more realistic type of gardening programme where I don't feel inadequate!
