Henri Studio Water Plume LED lights
I bought a Henri Studio Water Plume LED light kit online from this company on 4th April 2003. It lasted about 3 months when some of the lights stopped working. I contacted them and they sent out a replacement transformer free of charge. The lights partially worked so I supposed that was the best I could expect. Since then the lights stopped working altogether. I contacted them again. They said I would have to agree to there terms and conditions book. They now say that under clause 9.3 I would have to return them for testing and if they found no fault I would have to pay for the testing. This would mean dismantling my water feature, which would no longer work as the lights create a seal at the top. I wrote back saying that I would have accepted a partial refund. They contacted the manufactor on my behalf, who wanted photos of the lights not working. This I did and received a £25 refund. I have decided to not replace the lights in future as these were replacements of the original set and didn't last 3 months. This is the manufactor's fault not the Garden Site.

We are still working on your enquiry and had not concluded this matter at the time of this review, I am sorry you feel you have had to "give up". Your latest email has been received after your review was posted. We are a working garden centre and a specialist aquatic store, at times our email responses can take a little longer, we are also available 7 days a week on the phone should you need to get hold of us. We are certainly not just an online website. If a customer has purchased an item either instore or online as with the majority of physical retail stores it is reasonable to test an item and to further investigate any concern, especially for electrical items. We do NOT charge for testing, again I am sorry you have miss understood this. We do state;
9.3 Some products may need to be sent in for testing to determine whether they are faulty. If, after testing, we have found the product to be in good working order, you will be charged a fee to receive your product back.
I am sorry if we have not met your expectation on this occasion and I am more than happy to continue to discuss this matter further with you.

Water Feature problem fixed
Bought a Water Feature last year. This Summer it stopped working. Called Customer Services and Kayleigh confirmed that it was still under warranty and arranged a replacement transformer to be sent. This arrived in a couple of days and when installed the feature was up and running again. Judge a company not on how it looks when everything is running smoothly but how they deal with problems when they occur. As in this example no quibble just got on with fixing the problem quickly.

My Husband bought a jardinere for my special birthday, from the 1st moment of contact GardenSite were most professional and helpful with all our questions.
Their delivery driver made contact on time, and the delivery was made slightly earlier than scheduled.
Overall I would score 15 out of 10, I will definitely purchase from them again without hesitation.

Great products, value & customer service
Bought a water feature from GardenSite last year, which is lovely. GardenSite was about 1
£15 cheaper than anywhere else and delivery was quick and efficient.
10 months later, the transformer stopped working: an email to Kayleigh in Customer Services resulted in a new one arriving 3 days later, no quibbles.
Excellent product, fabulous customer service, highly recommended

Not a great company to deal with
Not a great company to deal with. Order a £500 shed from them with the website stating 5 to 10 days. Not getting a call for delivery as promised we have called Garden Site 3 times. The first time promised a call back, never happened! Second time told it would be early the following week (no specific dates and a week late). Feeling nervous about them we called again to someone not very interested that put us through to their supplier directly to sort!!! Their supplier was most unhelpful with them suggesting it maybe Friday now, 5 days later. I do not ring Currys to chase my washing machine delivery to be told to ring Zanussi directly. My order is with Garden Site, you have my money, you sort your supplier problems.
Never use them please. Far better service on other sites. Amazon can deliver a shed faster!

We are disappointed to read your feedback regarding your order and can only apologise again for the delay in delivery.
As deliveries of Yardmaster products are completed by the manufacturer directly, we have to communicate back with Yardmaster for updates on the rare occasion that an issue does occur. Due to this chain, accurate updates can sometimes take a few hours to compile which means we cannot always call customers back right away as we simply do not have adequate information to provide an informative or acceptable response. We ask for a reasonable amount of time to do our job and if customers continue to call us without giving us this, it can lead to frustration and further disappointment which seems to have happened in your case.
As for your comment to other customers to use Amazon instead, it goes without saying that, of course, Amazon deliver most things much faster than independent businesses ever could due to their multi-billion dollar revenue... I am sure you were aware of this prior to choosing to place an order through us.

Poor customer service
Poor customer service. They give a timeslot of 8am - 6pm for delivery which requires someone to be in to take the delivery. I took a day of work for the delivery to be cancelled at 12pm. I then cannot get another day off until 2 weeks later. Customer care don't seem to care about this.

Firstly, may we apologise again that your original delivery date was not adhered to. For various products, we outsource deliveries to a courier and therefore they are not our own drivers, however, we appreciate that they represent our company and thus we have a responsibility to resolve any issues that may occur with deliveries.
Looking at the order notes, it seems that there was an issue with the driver going over their legal hours due to traffic on the day. We appreciate your frustration waiting in all day for your shed to turn up and it didn't. I can see that our Customer Care team were quick to get updates to you and book in a new delivery date that was convenient for you. Therefore, I have to dispute your comment that the team didn't 'seem to care'.
I can see that you are now in receipt of the item and trust you are happy with the product.

Very disappointed
Placed an order for a greenhouse in March, the web site stated delivery 3 to 5 days, told 10 days later my greenhouse was to be delivered, received an email the morning of the delivery confirmation that they could not deliver due to the lorry being overweight, the same day received a delivery of 2 sheets of plywood!!, We were at work at the time, the driver did take a phot of the delivery, informed Gardensite, said they would reschedule was told delivery would be 7 weeks, I therefore decided to cancel and look elsewhere, although I would like the large plywood panels collecting, was contacted from the delivery company and asked if we could dispose of the panels as it was not economical to collect them, been chasing the refund from gardensite (of which I was told originally 5 days) and which they now confirm it will be a further 14 days, funny that when they can take payment immediately

Although we anticipate that each and every delivery will be completed smoothly, inevitably, there are occasions when this does not happen, whether that be down to a supply issue, delayed delivery or simple human error. In your case, this particular product was being delivered by a third-party company over which we have limited control. However, I can see that our Customer Care team was diligent in chasing the order on your behalf and responded back to your emails efficiently and with adequate information to provide you with informative updates.
We state up to 14 days for a refund, however, refunds are often made within 1-3 working days. I can see that the full amount has been successfully returned to your original payment method.
We can only apologise again for the issues related to your order and hope you would consider purchasing from us in the future.

I purchased a secondhand Hillerstorp…
I purchased a secondhand Hillerstorp wooden hammock a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, when I uncovered it a few days ago, the canopy had perished. Traced the manufacturer to Sweden, looked like they no longer had retailers in the UK then, hurrah, they mentioned Garden Site had recently placed an order.
The lovely Matthew at Garden Site was brilliant. Rang me back when he said he would. I placed the order and it arrived the next day. Excellent service. I would highly recommend.

Excellent customer service from Gardensite
I had spent a frustrating afternoon searching the internet to understand which pond pump I needed- to no avail.
Then I found Gardensite and telephoned them and asked for advice. They were brilliant - knowledgeable, informative, courteous and helpful. I sent photos and dimensions of my fountain and they researched and advised the pump options available to me, with the relative pros and cons. All this within a 2 hour period. Needless to say I ordered the pump which they recommended would be best for my application which duly arrived and which I have now installed, it works brilliantly. Congratulations to the team, very unusual (particularly on the internet) to find such BRILLIANT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Bad service in collusion with supplier
Bad service in collusion with supplier. Ordered a glorified shed/summerhouse. Spent weeks trying to assure them my base, laid professionally, was level
Pictures of spirit level, then spirit level on long pieces of wood sent. Supplier wanted me to pay £180 up front for additional base. When I refused told me I had to sign an indemnity form if base wasn’t level when installers arrived which I had no choice but to agree to
As expected it was level and guys great on installation
Despite e mails to the contrary this company said I was never asked to pay £180 up front and stated I refused the indemnity . No acknowledgement even after I sent proof
Be careful who you choose…..would not recommend
CLEARLY FROM YOUR RESPONSE BELOW YOU HAVE NOT READ MY RECENT EMAIL WHICH SHOWS WHERE SHIRE ASKED FOR MONEY UPFRONT AND THAT I DID NOT REFUSE THE INDEMNITY.
Edit I notice you now state that I would get a refund if the extra base wasn’t required. Surely this shows I was asked to pay upfront otherwise why say I would get a refund?

I have to begin by asking why you would part ways with your money and order something you felt was a 'glorified' version of a shed/summerhouse in the first place?
Secondly, as discussed extensively via email, although here at GardenSite we do strive to provide the highest possible level of customer service, we also have to respect and adhere to the requirements put in place by our manufacturers (in this case, Shire GB) to ensure successful delivery and installation services for all of our customers.
We have sold Shire buildings for decades with the majority of them being purchased with installation. Installation is a service that we are proud to be able to offer nationwide and, in most cases, the fitters travel long distances and have to stay overnight for days at a time which is costly both logistically and financially. If a team turns up to find a base is not level, they categorically cannot complete (or even start) the build as this would cause structural issues that would worsen over time, including but not limited to timber movement and leaks. If an appointment fails due to the base being unsuitable, the cost is passed to the customer for payment. Therefore, it is absolutely essential that fitters are confident that customers’ bases are level prior to them attending an appointment in order to avoid this extra cost.
In your emails you state you are ‘honest and transparent’, and that on occasions we should just ‘trust’ our customers. I hope that the above helps you to understand why it is not viable for us as a company to conduct business in such a manner.
Lastly, I must disagree with your comment that we asked you to pay £180.00 upfront for another base. I can see that you did not wish to sign the indemnity contract to say you would be happy to proceed should any faults with the base be found. Therefore, an alternative base was offered, the cost for which would be refunded to you in full should the installers deem your base acceptable upon arrival.
We are happy to hear that you were pleased with the gentlemen who erected the Summerhouse for you, however, we understand you are less than satisfied with your overall experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to communicate your thoughts with us.

I ordered a Pontec PondoVario Fountain Pump 1500 last week and it arrived within 24 hours. Excellent service. I chose this pump because it allowed me to use a fountain and water feature at the same time.

Forest Greenhouse - great!
Ordered over the phone as had a query to sort out. Excellent helpful response, easy ordering and greenhouse arrived very promptly within a week. One piece to repair - immediate correspondance following photos taken by delivery driver, Andy Lewis, who was simply excellent. A smily happy face to the company! Haven't constructed yet, but the service has been excellent thus far. Thank you.
