Outstanding! From the moment we met with Sophie and her team we knew that every detail of my Father in Law's Wake would be handled with care and professionalism. On the day our family received such a warm welcome, with a number of them travelling up to stay at the George overnight. They could not have been happier with the hospitality they received. Being able to gather together for Breakfast the next morning, was the icing on the cake and confirmed a thoughtfulness and attention to detail, that is the hallmark of the Hotel. We cannot recommend the George highly enough. Thank you so much.

mouldy wall, floors creak constantly, wallpapering coming off and I had to sleep next to it, mirror unusually hot, hole in bedsheets, stairs are narrow, stains in carpet, view is hit and miss, the price is good for the location, but would only recommend the pub.

Dirty and smelly you do not want to stay here

I have used their Function facility on two occasions over the past 2 years. Both times I was extremely happy with the facilities and the food provided.
I found Sophie and her team very helpful and efficient. The Buffet provided was delicious and plenty of it. Every wish was catered for.

Just had an amazing afternoon tea here there were 9 of us staff really attentive and food excellent. Sophie in the office delt with my booking and she was so efficient along with being so friendly.

I have been eating at the George for many years, and have always had really good service, excellent food. However, during the last weeks/months I am sad to say I have noticed a definite deterioration in the quality of the food. Staff delightful as always, but today I had a feta ciabatta that was most disappointing. Dry and with a minimal filling, a few flakes of cheese, and some pale ands undercooked chips.
A definite need for improvement. Sad to say this about such a nice place and such helpful friendly staff.

Disappointing stay at The George, Nunney. I wish I had read reviews before booking. Dinner was shocking! Apparently they have a new chef. He really is very bad for the business. I ordered one of the most expensive meals on the evening menu i.e. steak at £26! How can a chef get that wrong? Medium rare with garlic butter was ordered to eat before I left to go to Frome for a concert. The only meal that needed to be cooked at the hotel at that time. It arrived as well done/ just slightly pink. I asked for what I ordered medium rare. It was then re-odered by the waitress. It then was served at my table, Luke warm, with no garlic butter. Plate cold, it was awful. The garlic butter then arrived after I reminded the server that is what I ordered. It looked awful a messy blob obviously hurriedly prepared., it wouldn't melt on the steak steak, as my steak was like wsrm £122 a night!! Breakfast was just as bad. Do they use an air fryer to cook bacon, because it was stiff, hard and inedible, as was the black pudding? When I returned from the concert I was rudely told I couldn't be served a drink as the bar was closed. Yet the local people were still drinking their pints.. Horrendous experience. I wouldn't recommend at all. I asked the server to let the owners how bed my experience was but no apology. I don't understand why the owners are letting this happen. Apparently it attracts local trades people to stay over. Why? I was excited to stay there. Would not recommend!0

I'm very happy that I used The George Hotel whilst in Norwich. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The staff were professional and were very customer focused which is always a massive plus for me in any kind of business because it leaves a lasting impression and as the cliche says you only get one chance at making a first impression. Great value for money at this particular price point and I would warmly recommend The George to anyone intending to stay in Norwich.

A terrible hotel, disgusting bathrooml

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this well located friendly hotel, and, again, I wasn't disappointed 😁
This time I opted for a small single which I was a little nervous about, but I needn't have worried as, although it was small, it had everything I needed, comfortable bed, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and, of course, compact but perfectly adequate en-suite shower room.

Been here many many times, food is always good but they are taking bookings without enough staff. 50 minutes from ordering 3 half portion meals to getting them served. Have heard this happens a lot but this is the 1st it has happened to us. Won’t rush back. Lots of tables waiting and when asked they said the restaurant was open too so they were busy.

I had a nice time while staying at this hotel. The food was awesome and the staff are very approachable. Keep it up!! THANK YOU!!!

Thanks to the wonderful team at The George we had a truly special Christmas meal: great food, amazing service and total confidence regarding safety. Nothing was too much trouble and we are already looking forward to returning in the New Year. Highly recommended. Thank you The George!
