Ordered a CFExpress card in July, I'm pretty sure it said it was in stock. It's now November and nothing. Price was good though, or else I would have cancelled the order by now.

Even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon, customer service was fantastic at the Chatswood store.

I’m a professional wedding photographer and videographer, and I would not order from Georges Cameras again.

On 27 October I ordered a Tamron 17-70mm lens for $904.95. The website showed it as In Stock with Express Shipping of 1 to 4 days. I paid for express because I needed it for a shoot that Saturday. It didn’t ship. When I asked to cancel, I was told the lens had not been in stock when I ordered. I was given no dispatch date. I was then told that 10% of the order value (about $90) would be deducted from my refund unless I chose a different lens.

So the stock information I relied on was wrong, the delay wasn’t caused by me, and I was the one being asked to pay for it.

This wasn’t a one-off. In July I ordered a Sony carrying case from them. The other items arrived, but the case still hasn’t after more than three months, despite several follow-ups and two delivery estimates that passed.

Their own policy says a full refund applies when a product can’t be delivered in a reasonable time. At the time of writing, neither refund has been confirmed.

If you need gear by a certain date, call and confirm they physically have it before you pay. Don’t rely on the In Stock label.

Georges Camera Store in Sydney has been my go to place for all my photo and video gear. The staff know their stuff, are helpful, professional, and the prices are always the most competitive. Just bought another Sony camera and memory card from them. I highly recommend Georges Cameras in Sydney.

Very disappointing customer service. Advertise a product online "available for delivery" but when you go to check out there is no delivery option, only pickup instore. Rang the store and they said if you cant pick it up too bad. Just dreadful in 2026

I dropped in to test some cameras at the Chatswood store. I had a short list but was undecided. I was fortunate to be assisted by Victor. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks to Victor's excellent customer service, I left with a brand new camera and I couldn't be happier with my selection.

When I bordered a lens with the incorrect mount, George's was extremely helpful in organising an exchange of the lens. Their advice on my camera and accessories was excellent.

I recently bought a 2 Way Tripod Head, the process was quick and very easy and was despatched quicker than the website stated.

Very helpful staff, both in the store, over the phone and when making online enquiries. Living in a regional area and not being in Sydney very often I use online ordering and I find Jem amazing, always responds and follows up with answers to any queries. The current staff in George St are super friendly and helpful and George's because of this, they are my preferred shop for all my photography equipment.
