This is my 2nd visit to this particular store, the first time was good it was just a straight forward purchase with pleasant staff. Today's visit was special the staff and manager were exceptional the service was second to none, The manager was so helpful and pleasant, give him a promotion he deserves it

Struggled for some time to get a walking shoe with a wide fit. Daniel was knowledgeable and super helpful in finding me just what I needed.Unfortunately I am between sizes and many styles don't come in half sizes.
However On my second visit Tom went above and beyond informing me that my preferred shoe was available in a half size but only through the makers website. What a generous act, putting customer support front and centre, I can't thank him enough.

James was so helpful in fitting us for our bags ahead of our trip to Bali in a few weeks. He didn’t pressure us to spend outside of our budget and was really knowledgeable on what would suit our needs best. Thanks again James :)

Lewi and Josh were fantastic in helping my son purchase his kit for his Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. Both were very knowledgeable and ensured we got the best value for money products. They took time to ensure his backpack and walking boots were the right size, even teaching him a new way to tie his boots. Excellent service - thank you both.

Great service from Tom when I bought a new pair of Scarpa walking shoes. He understood what I wanted, asked pertinent questions and was friendly and enthusiastic.

Daniel was a great help, providing excellent knowledge and advice to help my wife and I equip ourselves for our trip.

Dan was really helpful with everything we needed and made sure we bought the correct gear for our trip!

My husband and I were looking for a tent and bundle , Lewi was fantastic he had great customer service he was very knowledgeable about the product we had chosen, he assisted us with getting everything we needed, along with great advise.

I walk 2000 miles plus a year on varied terrain but mostly pavement. I was confused by the choice of walking trainers available till James came along asked me what my requirements were and terrain. He explained what situations each trainer is best suited for and potential strain on the body if used in the wrong situation. I have an 8 1/2 G foot so he suggested a size 10 in the Merrell Moab 3GTX. This shoe is perfect, easy to bend but with enough torsional stability for my usage it’s got quite a wide toe box and it’s Gortex lined. It was a great price with the loyalty card and the whole experience was really informative and very pleasant. Great job James and Go Outdoors. The staff at this store are a cut above.

Served today by Josh who helped me and my daughter get some new walking boots and socks. Just a really lovely friendly and knowledgable lad. A credit to the store.

Dan was helpful advising on walking boots. He was patient getting a few pairs to try on.
And told us about offer on socks we had not noticed.

Sharing on here as I could not find an email to share with the store. I wanted to share some positive feedback following a recent visit to the GO Outdoors MetroCentre store.

We have shopped with GO Outdoors several times over the years, but this is the first time I have felt compelled to get in touch because the service we received was so exceptional.

We were making a fairly large purchase of a tent that we had been trying to secure since May, but everywhere had been sold out. We were delighted to find one available at the MetroCentre store, and from the moment Louis came over to help us, his service was outstanding.

Louis pointed out deals that we could take advantage of, investigated an issue we were having with a voucher, and even offered to store our purchases while we continued shopping. His customer service was faultless, but what struck me most was how passionate he is about GO Outdoors itself. He spoke with real pride and enthusiasm, and the care he takes with his displays and helping customers understand what is available in store was exceptional. You truly have a brand ambassador in Louis.

Having worked in leadership for many years, I know how rare it is to find someone who is not only passionate about serving customers but also genuinely proud of where they work. People like that are absolute gold dust, and I hope he knows how much he is valued because he is a real credit to your business.

Louis also recognised that shopping with two children, including a two-year-old, can be challenging, and kindly helped us carry everything over to the till.

At the checkout, we were served by another gentleman who was equally helpful. Unfortunately, we discovered that our gift card had not been loaded correctly, which was understandably quite stressful. At no point did he make us feel under pressure. He was patient, understanding and even offered to keep our items aside while we waited to see if the issue resolved itself.

When we returned an hour later, we unfortunately still had the same problem. Another colleague, a lady on the tills, was incredibly kind and understanding. She recognised how much we wanted these products and offered to hold everything until the following day in the hope that we could sort the gift card issue.

Thankfully, we managed to resolve everything and completed our purchase the next day. We are absolutely thrilled, as we had wanted this tent for such a long time.

The gift card issue was not GO Outdoors' fault, yet every member of staff we encountered did everything they could to help. I genuinely cannot fault any of them, and I wouldn't be doing them justice if I didn't take the time to let you know how fantastic they were.

Please pass on our thanks to Louis and the rest of the team at the MetroCentre store. They made what could have been a stressful experience into a genuinely positive one, and they should all be very proud of the service they provide.

hi !! i came today just to find new walking boots for my DofE bronze , and i was helped by Lewi and Josh .

they were both incredibly informative , helped me and my mother by recommending different types of shoes and describing what was good or not preferable about them including their own mistakes and stories . lewi even taught me a knot that i still have to master to make sure that the shoes are tight enough !

both were also very very funny 😭😭 just had a great time despite shoe shopping last minute and i think it definitely came from the staff there . i hope josh has a good rest of his shift (14 hours is insane) and spends the money having fun , wishing both of you well !!

Thank you to Louie/louis sorry not sure on the spelling of the lads name, for all your help today on my purchase of a berghaus coat for my son. He was very knowledgeable of all the products, helping me choose the best coat for what I needed. All staff in the store were very friendly and there was so much choice. Thank you for a wonderful experience in store today!
