Great Service
Many thanks to Liam at VW Peterborough for sourcing the car required at a very competitive price along with excellent customer service.
Would definitely recommend.
Good Luck trying to cancel their…
Good Luck trying to cancel their insurance. You ABSOLUTELY have to do it yourself, the Toyota dealership just hands you a piece of paper showing a website for cancellation. The website DOES NOT allow cellphones, so you have to be on a desktop. Then you have to submit a LEGIBLE picture of your odometer statement ( God only knows what ), obviously your desktop will not do that. You have to use your cellphone go back and forth. In 2024, this is how hard it is to cancel your insurance with this company. It is a complete joke, obviously, the Toyota dealership where I bought the car were happy and eager to sell me this insurance but they can not cancel but they can sign you up! Oh I forgot, the car broke down less than a week for reasons they do not cover that is why I am going through this cancellation mess. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!
SCAM Tyre insurance
SCAM!
I was sold tyre insurance and told that it would last the duration of the 48 month PCP. After trying to get a replacement tyre I was told that I would have to pay. The car is only 30 months old, and that the polity was only for 24 months. Which if i had known I would not have paid out for as I Wouldn't expect a new car to go through more than 1 tyre in this initial period. When i made the booking online and took the keys in I made them aware it was on the insurance claim and yet they changed it and expected me to Pay.
Poor that they didn't contact me in advance to discuss, Poor that they didn't check before putting on a replacement, Poor that they asked if I wanted my car washed as a free service and didn't.
I Will be reporting this to the FCA.
Dishonest salesman quoted a price £3000…
Dishonest salesman quoted a price £3000 higher than what it was being sold for. Unprofessional. Avoid this company
Beware of buying your car from Group1…
Beware of buying your car from Group1 JLR Staples Corner. Sold me a car with 2 years warranty and it has a third party immobiliser which I was not informed about. It’s not working and they said it’s not their problem as it’s third party. But, hello? I bought the car from them and they even told me ‘this is the immobiliser fob’ when I questioned it. The service department are a nightmare to get through. It’s taken a week, four emails and 11 calls to get one reply saying can’t do anything. I will now seek legal advice
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs! Jag f pace broke down 6 weeks ago waited 3 weeks for a service and diagnostic check. Apparently diagnostic check was fine. On pursuing the historical matters they have now had the car for nearly 3 weeks! Customer service is beyond poor no courtesy car available ynless you pay £70 a day. No updates unless you ring and chase and even then they don’t call you back or lie about it.
Absolute appalling and demeaning…
Absolute appalling and demeaning service from Group 1 Hall Road Norwich. Sold me a used car with a 2-day MIT but wirh a front siezed brakes & caliper. Never responded when I reported it, only came back after I chased a week later, denied the fault ever existed.
I have just purchased our seventh Audi…
I have just purchased our seventh Audi from Alastair at Hatfield Audi. I keep going back because the service is outstanding and he always manages to find the car I need and when I need it. Thank you
Completely Untrustworthy.
I have just got my car back from BMW Watford Group 1 1. Work not done.
2. Vehicle was given to me in a dangerous condition.
3. Complete string of lies and deceit.
This culture is inbred in this company from the "technicians" to the front staff. Be warned.
Made it impossible to buy a car!
I'm leaving this review because I wanted to buy a car from them and they made it impossible. Who knew a car dealer would make it impossible to buy a car from them. This is purely for their Group 1 Assured Ipswich Dealership.
I saw a mini cooper s that I really wanted to buy. I have the cash to pay for it in full and made that clear. I called the dealer and they said they would get back to me within an hour. A day later I decided to call again and offered to put a deposit down on the car. They said they thought someone was already looking at the car and not sure if they put a deposit but he would call back to let me know. Another day later I call again, he said he's not sure and he would get back to me again. I called back a final time (at this point it's 5 days after my initial contact), the man that answered is still not sure if someone else has put a deposit. I offer to put a deposit and pay in full and he said he would call back.
7 Days from my initial contact, I hadn't heard back so I decided to go ahead and buy a car from another dealer. It's over 3 weeks since I called about the car, it's still listed on their website for sale and the sales agent hasn't called me back. Strange that they're a car dealership that doesn't want to sell cars. It's a shame because I really wanted that Mini Cooper S they had for sale.
Will quote you to repace what doesn't need to be!
I had a service and MOT completed 13 months ago. As part of the "pre-MOT" checks I was told that I needed to replace an off side front lower ball joint as a rubber in the assembly had failed. This would be an MOT failure. Quoted £330. I was also told that the wiper blades would fail, although I knew there was nothing wrong with them. They ended up doing the MOT because of waiting for parts and it PASSED! 13 months later and there was no even an advisory on the rubber and the same wiper blades passed. I could be £500 down based on this experience. Make me question the benefit of having anything to do with the main dealers to maintain a manufacturer service history when basically they seem to just want to take your money for unnecessary repairs. AVOID!
Date of experience was actually March 2023 but cannot go that far back
Servicing Service is Non-Existent
VW Commercials Dartford
Don’t buy a van from them if you want to have it serviced. They openly admit that they are understaffed so it takes weeks to book any type of service.
I had to move my booking and had an email conversation with them. They did not bother to cancel my old appointment or book my new one and have now told me it will be another 5 weeks until I can have another appointment.
No apology or explanation as to why this has happened. They are rude and incompetent.
Repair Audi after damage
I never been been in this situation before, and the staff members helped me so much and directed me to Hilton Coachworks (Bishop's Stortford) thank you so much and I'm very happy with your services!
Absolutely disgraceful service
Absolutely disgraceful service from this company went to view a car get told not arrived yet call emailed on few days later told still not received car but will get some photos emailed again and told it had to servicing stamps am I still interested I replied yes then nothing not even the decency to tell me it’s no longer available and by the way the sales man Oscar Ruston well what can I say
Check the car throughly don’t trust the so called 143 point check.
Recently bought a car from Colchester branch and won’t be going back again as I doubt the so called 143 point inspection ever happened? Found burn hole on back seat and had to take car back for a poor attempt at repairing it. Then realised that the front tyres were very worn and needed replacing soon. They simply were not interested and after several discussions we ended being £180 pounds out of pocket. Won’t be taking it there for any future servicing or repairs. Awful aftercare. 😡😡
The worst experience i have ever had…
The worst experience i have ever had buying a car - Sevenoaks VW . Salesman was good (although did say car had spec that it did not) but from then on unbelievably bad . The 142 point check missed creaking doors , underinflated tires , off center steering and badly misaligned cameras and a rattle from the door. They did book it in quickly to repair these - three days after dropping it off they call to tell me that they cant find anything wrong at all with the car - despite clear photos of the issue . they then admitted the next day that the doors did creak so "fixed them " . As the cameras were still clearly broken 4 days ( and LOTS of phone calls ) later i said i would reject the car - miraculously they could then see all the problems and recalibrated the steering and the cameras ! So either they lied all week hoping i would give up and leave it or they are too incompetent to actually work on a car . Finally collected it after 5 days only to find the doors still creak and door card rattles ! PLEASE do not take your car anywhere near this garage for any service work unless you want to be lied to by terrible mechanics .
Cars serviced off premises without telling customer!
I noticed that my car, booked in for service at Group 1 Mercedes in Cambridge had increased mileage unexpectedly at pick up: because of "refurbishment" they had been driven it to a different service location without telling me (they only told me they did a "test-drive")! They have no MOT ramp and so you pay for your MOT in gold and they take it to a small service stop, use your fuel and drive it who knows how, rather than telling you to get your MOT elsewhere (and pay less!) They also give no rides or courtesy vehicles and tell you to get a taxi! Horrible service at this dealership and badly spoken, badly mannered employees.
Disappointed handover
We found the car on their website so popped along to the dealership. The salesman didn’t realise the car was in despite it being on the forecourt .. he thought it was a manual until we informed him it was an auto.
We liked the car and proceeded to buy it. There was a lot of paperwork to complete which wasn’t ready and had to be done while we sat and waited. We waited until the mot certificate and paperwork was located. The car had no fuel (2 miles on red) as we pulled off the forecourt the dash pinged and indicated key battery low.
A disappointing experience
Worse than Arthur Daleys used car lot.
Worse than Arthur Daleys used car lot.
Disgusting level of customer service. Never been treated so badly by ANY main dealer in my ife (I'm over 60)
Tried DESPERATELY to buy a Jaguar used car from Group 1 in Watford. The whole experience was like having a tooth extracted - long and painful - with me doing all the chasing. My allocated salesman 'Faisal' didn't return calls or use other messaging services then allowed the vehicle to be sold by a colleague on his day off.
Fingers burnt, will definately keep away from any Group 1 dealership in the future, particularly if the training Faisal has been given is synonymous with Group 1 policy.
Liars, Poor and careless management and services - avoid at all costs
I have an Audi that is under warranty and engine light turned on and I scheduled a service appointment to Audi Finchley in London, part of Group 1.
I took the car first thing in the morning, 9 AM on Thursday to them and by 10:30 they knew already what the car needed.
I left the car there to be fixed, thinking it will be ready by the day after, given that it’s only a common lambda probe sensor that needs replacement. Something very common on VW group cars.
Today, Friday, I get a call that the part is ordered and due to arrive probably Saturday however, because of the service closure time on Saturday they won’t be able to finish it and hopefully it will be ready by Monday. Already stuck for 5 days for a simple thing.
I asked the lady from Finchley Road if they can offer a courtesy car to me during the time my car is there, and asked this only when I found out the car is gonna stay there until Monday.
She asked her managers and gues what managers came up with: because the car is not under manufacturer warranty, it’s on extended warranty, we are not able to provide a courtesy car.
What is the difference if you have an extended warranty, warranty that the customer pays for, not included like the manufacturer one?
It seems for them, the customers with extended warranty are less humans and less customers than the ones with manufacturer warranty…people from third world countries hit by poverty and they don’t do any interest for the company so they can be ignored and refused everything.
Imagine what type of mentality as a manager you have to have to take such a decision, to divide your paying customers based on the warranty if it’s extended or not. Totally unacceptable and ridiculous… and I wish they gonna be treated like that in any other industry they will go…and be refused services based on the fact they are not real customers, they are jokes for the company.
I asked again the lady from Audi Finchley to speak and explain the situation that it’s Audi’s fault they don’t have the part there and they can’t repair in time and to elaborate the difference between manufacturer warranty and extended warranty and she came back with the same answer from the stupid managers, it’s not possible.
She doesn’t have any problem, it’s coming from the top the stupidity and poor management and she only has to pass the message.
After acknowledging there’s no chance for me to even speak to somebody, the lady is asking to send a payment link for the excess for the warranty, stating after this payment is made the part will be ordered.
So now it’s obvious for everyone that they lied to their customer since yesterday, saying the part is on its way but it’s gonna be delivered so that’s why the car can’t be ready during the same day or even the day after. The part in fact is not even ordered by Audi Finchley to arrive and it’s never been even at the time of this review 3 pm Friday, 29 hours later after the car was diagnosed, why? Because they have to take the payment of excess for the warranty.
So there’s a £60k car in their possession, they lied to their customer the part is ordered and on its way since yesterday m, and today they admit the part is not ordered yet, it’s 3 pm, and they are sorry the car can’t be repaired in time, not even by tomorrow because the part is not there.
It’s not there because of the incompetence of Audi Finchley and their management that is very poor and stupid, lying their customers on a daily basis.
They could have taken the payment yesterday or they could have taken the payment today early morning… only now they say we have to take the payment to authorise the order or the part.
And it’s a part of £100 worth the lambda probe and they didn’t ordered because they were afraid the excess wouldn’t be paid by the owner or a £60k vehicle in their possession.
Literally, these management people come from third world countries where they don’t know anything about humanity and people and kindness and respect. Totally zero quality services, lies and so on.
This is a real experience happening today that would appall anyone in my position.
I haven’t asked for anything unreasonable… but because they are unable to repair the car in time, I should have been given a courtesy car not because I’m special but because it’s their fault not being able to repair the car.
It seems the car could have been repaired yesterday but the stupid management didn’t ordered the part, why? Because an excess wasn’t paid yet.
Come on… in 2024.
Totally and really disappointed of this company… ora worst than any I’ve been dealing with and I’m gonna shift my focus towards different branches where people are treated with more respect honestly.
They don’t deserve customers, they deserve to parish however, they take advantage of people not having where to go in their area.
Avoid avoid avoid regardless anything!
