The fire I chose would not quite fit in the recess. Instead of a blank no it won't work, they came up with a solution and I now have the fire I want and it looks great. The workmen were all wonderful, kept me informed of each step and made sure I was happy and understood all the suggestions.
I can't thank them enough and would certainly recommend them to undertake your gas work.

Chris & Pete came for an initial visit and advised what we needed to meet regulations for a log burner and even recommended a builder to help. Once the building work had been completed, Chris and Pete turned up on time and got stuck straight into the job in hand, each process and part was explained when we asked questions during the installation. They were very clean and efficient and gave a full explanation of how to safely use our new log burner and also gave us peace of mind by giving us their mobile number for any queries in the future. I would highly recommend groves gas particularly Chris & Pete for a log burner installation.

Excellent all round service was provided by Jack and Zak the engineer who also took the time to explain to me the inner workings of an ASHP.

I cannot fault Groves Gas Ltd as everything was completed without any fuss and their communication was spot on. Fully recommended and done at a fair price.

Engineer turned up on time and was professional, courteous and informative from the outset. Took time to explain the problem and how it would be resolved. He kept the work and surrounding area protected to avoid damage and left it all cleaner and tidier than when he arrived.

From the moment they arrived, they demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise. They were punctual and courteous.

They worked efficiently and meticulously, leaving no mess behind and ensuring that everything was functioning perfectly before they left. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to answer all my questions made the entire experience stress-free.

Well, what can I say, Chris came around on time to have a look at replacing our 15 year old boiler and advise us on the best option to suit our needs, a very pleasant chap and very experienced.
A little while later accepted the quote and agreed an installation date.
2 young lads turned up introducing themselves and putting dust sheets down.
The “2 Josh’s” were very hard working and treated our home with respect and were very polite all day, a joy to have around.
When completed they cleaned up and explained how the new boiler works, nothing was too much bother for them.
Absolutely recommend Groves Gas for the first class service and attention to detail.

I have been with Groves for a number of years now and I cannot fault the level of service I have received from them. I was so pleased I found them. All of their staff (engineers and administration staff) are totally professional, courteous, friendly and very helpful indeed. I always feel reassured by all work carried out by them.

From initial question to installation of new water tank all contact has been, friendly, professional and thorough. The team who carried out the work (led by Mike) were a pleasure to have in the house, polite and carefully explained what was happening and why. Despite the disruption of the work, the house was left clean and tidy afterwards. We have used Groves Gas for years and will continue to do so.

EDF installed new smart meters but gas meter was capped due to leak. Rang Groves and they came out same day to fix leak in boiler. Rhys found leak within twenty minutes and gas was back in operation.
He was very efficient and friendly, would definitely use again.

Had a new gas cooker installed today and he done a fantastic job. I was well pleased. Will definitely use these again thank you

I have used Groves gas for the past 20 year's in that time have had a new boiler fitted yearly service any small problem has been sorted out quickly and efficiently with reliable staff always. I would recommended this company to anybody who asked.

Unfortunately not able to recommend this company. Initially enquired about some work that we required to our home on 26 February 2024. Groves Gas received all of the necessary photographs and promised to show them to an engineer when one became available in the office and said they would be in touch on 29 February 2024. We chased via email on 25 March 2024. We received no response. We then made several phone calls chasing the company, we were told we would receive a call back. At writing, it’s 4 April 2024 and we have not had a call back. Terrible organisation and communication.

Our central heating failed to come on and we telephoned Groves gas the following morning and they came out the same day and nstalled a new 2 way value.They also accommodated us with the time of the call out.First class service.

Poor advice and service.
I had previously used groves gas for a service and parts upgrade without any issues.
However on my last service they recommended a rewire, as my system heats a business premises I took there advice.
On the day of a simple rewire, the engineer took all day and didn’t really know what he was doing. They installed a separate thermostat which was totally not right for my system, the guy was on the phone most of the day, presumably taking adivice on how to install properly. When he left, close to 6 pm he said he would be back during the week to finish the job. I never saw him again, the thermostat installed is inappropriate for my systems needs.
The bill almost £500, arrived , I messaged to say I wasn’t happy as the guy said he would be back, but I never saw him again.
No reply to my any of my messages no, follow up. Wrong advice given, when thermostat for my system.
Will not be using again. What a waste of £500

Me & my hubby visited the showroom to look at stoves, we booked Chris in to come to our home and check if it was possible if we could have a stove in our chimney.
Chris came out, he advised me what steps I should take depending on what we wanted, mid way through I asked for Chris to come back out, it wasn’t a problem and within a couple of days he came out, had a look & advised on next steps.
Then came the big day for installation, Chris and Pete were really great, they’re perfectionists. Once installed they spent a good amount of time explaining how to run the stove correctly. Really lovely genuine people.

An engineer attended our address on a Wednesday, that engineer was at the address for around 5 minutes before he left informing us that we should not use the boiler because it could burst at any time due to the damage to the pipe which would result in a new boiler. We asked the engineer if we should stop using the boiler and were told to turn it off and not use it because of the risk of the pipe bursting, resulting in us having no hot water or heating.

The same engineer informed us that our job would be sent through ASAP for the part to be ordered. I understand ordering of parts is out of Groves control because they come from manufactures.

I called up chasing on the Tuesday, 5 days now within water and was told the part had not come in. Thankfully it arrived the next day and they sent a different engineer on the Friday which was now 9 days without any hot water or heating.

This engineer made it clear to us from the start that he was not going to be able to fix the issue, he said to quote “these boilers never just need a new pipe, we get these issues all the time and it’ll need another part”.

As you can imagine we were extremely frustrated because this should have been picked up by the first engineer but we were left to freeze for another few days. It might seem dramatic but it was -6 at the time when we had the awful weather, so we were literally freezing. This engineer was well aware we had no water or boiler and promised to put us down as a “priority”.

Monday, 12pm still no phone call from them and I had had to chase them, but the receptionist was confused as to why I was calling saying they had not priced up the parts yet. 12 days now without water or heating.

That afternoon they finally sent us a new quote for the new work but thankfully we managed to find a new company who fixed our issue the next day.

I have paid over £400 for absolutely nothing but bad service so to say that I am unsatisfied with this company is an under statement.

Always so helpful, friendly, and I trust them implicitly.

Excellent service !!! Would definitely Recommend using….The lady who answered the phone was very helpful (This fills you with confidence) listened to my concerns and managed to get an appointment that day.
The gas engineer, Gareth was very knowledgeable and professional. He called me before he arrived to say he was on his way. I will definitely be recommending and using again.
