Excellent customer service, easy to follow online instructions for ordering, samples delivered swiftly, delivery within timeline suggested, no delays. Quality of unit is of a very high standard and we are very happy with our purchase - would highly recommend. 5*

UPDATE: After further use, I've discovered that the drawers rub against the frame ever so slightly which has caused further paint damage. A large scratch has formed on the inside of the unit (only visible when the drawer is open). Most annoyingly, the corner of the top drawer rubs against the frame and has already started to mark.

They offered to repaint the unit as a gesture of "goodwill" but that would involve me un-plumbing the unit, and covering courier charges there and back. Considering I've already spent £1,424.90 on a unit replete with aesthetic and functional problems, I didn't fancy the extra cost (or the risk).

Looking at reviews from other unhappy customers, compensation is clearly not something they're willing to provide in most cases, so make sure you check and double-check the unit on delivery (inside and out) and don't sign for the unit until you're good and ready.

Recently purchased a vanity unit. It cost £1,424.90, which is very expensive. Especially considering the item is only 600mm wide. I even paid for bespoke paint.

While the item looks lovely, the paint is already starting to mark/scuff very, very easily. I feel like it will deteriorate very quickly.

Considering the price of the item, I thought it would be a bit hardier. It's really annoying to have paid for a premium product, and to feel dissatisfied with the condition after only a couple of months.

AVOID if you actually use the bathroom. The paint scratches easily and fades with the abrasion of the sponge. The vanity units with open drawers/shelves should not be used for actually storing things unless you can put up with the scratches, scuffs, and marks that easily form after minor use.

Happy to provide pictures of the unit for anyone who wants to see the quality of the paint job first-hand.

Harvey George got in touch and asked me to 'rest assured that the painted finish is durable for everyday use'. But it clearly isn't, as I have already established.

Not high end, and terrible customer service...
We bought a double vanity unit from Harvey George in June 2023 due to the fact that we wanted a premium quality piece for the bathroom and waned a custom lime washed effect. We sampled the lime wash effect with HG and they managed to get what we wanted, so whilst expensive, we pressed ahead with the order.

When the vanity unit was delivered, they had completely missed off the limewash... and it was just a natural wood varnish. When we contacted HG we were told they would be happy to give us a discount if we accepted it... which we of course did not as it was not what we ordered. They said they would come out and collect and then redo it... so we had to cancel the plumber we had booked to come and do the work.

Few weeks later and we took delivery of the new unit... except it was not a new unit.. they had received the old one, taken it apart and then attempted to sand and repaint with the limewashed. I know they attempted to repaint because there were distinct marks and we took photos of the original delivery.

However, it got worse in that the unit was all warped, out of shape and really poor craftsmanship across the unit. The front face was about 2cm warped out of line, The drawer faces were different sizes, there are considerable gaps between panels where they are connected, the inside of drawers were not joined or connected properly, the plastic corner elements inside the drawers were clearly not right for the job, so they cut them down leaving sharp plastic edges, and overall the unit was filthy with dust and wood shavings.

We contacted HG and shared photos and images... We were called by the manager who attempted to make out that it was likely our walls and floor that were not level and that was making it look like it was out of shape... it was a brand new tiled bathroom and fully level.. so again i shared photos putting a level across the all faces of the unit. The manager then attempted to make out that because the unit is large it could shift and bend during transport, and that if we got our plumber to install it would all bend back to shape.

We then asked our plumber to come back, who said he would not touch it as it was clearly not made well and that he didn't want responsibility for installing something that would have problems. So we got our carpenter to also look at it, and he said the same thing... the unit was made with poor quality control and that he would not suggest installing it.

So we contacted HG again, who said they would collect again and check.

After a few weeks again, we received the final unit... and clearly minimal effort had been made to rectify any of the issues. Now we could see several more issues where they had tried to fix it, such as glue residue coming out of gaps and screw holes where they had taken out screws, and put them in to new holes.

We again contacted HG, and they claimed the screw holes would not be seen as they are inside the unit... and continued with the excuses.

The manager told us that he was confident that if we installed it, that it would solve the gaps and issues.

Reluctantly we had it installed in the hopes that it would solve most of the issues... and low and behold... it solved none of them. We now have a vanity unit that is installed that is warped, has gaps all over it, and just generally looks like it was made with zero quality control.

After speaking with HG again, it was just more excuses such as the gaps are just manufacturing tolerance, and that they cannot be held accountable for tolerances. When i challenged and said that people pay a premium to have higher quality and avoid mass manufacturing tolerances, the manager claimed that higher end manufacturing has bigger tolerances because its handmade... i work in production, and this is absolutely not true... tolerances are improved by improving production processes such as having jigs (Manager confirmed they did not have this in place, and that its something they are looking at in the future).

its clear they have manufacturing and quality issues, and if you are looking for high end, I would certainly avoid. They have high prices, but not high quality. for the price you could find alternatives with much higher quality.

but the frustrating thing is the lack of customer service, and a manager that is just full of excuses.

No doubt they will respond to this review same as they have with others claiming they have done XYZ and they have lots of good reviews... but they have been given plenty of opportunity to rectify and deliver a quality product...but they lost interest and stated that they believed our standards were too high... very strange from a high end company. This review wont allow me to post images, which is a shame as we have lots.. but will post those on other sites that allow photos.

The HG showroom is bathroom heaven! These are the most stylish vanity units I found, and the quality is excellent. Everyone at the showroom was extremely helpful and friendly, and I am absolutely delighted with my beautiful unit.

Really disappointed with this company. We went for a bespoke made to measure vanity unit with a hanging toilet unit and there were a few issues.
1. When we took the packaging off it had a chip right in the front of the unit. I spoke to customer services and was told in no uncertain terms that because I reported it more than 24hrs after it was received they would not do anything as they did not know if it was done by me or the delivery company. Legally this contrary to consumer rights where you have 30 days to come back when you have bought over the website. I highlighted to them that they are not abiding by consumer rights law and they offered to send a paint pot so we could repair it and touch up with paint afterwards.
2. They talk about handmade craftsmanship on their site, however the units turned up and not only was the main vanity unit and floating toilet unit different heights, the left and right hand side of each unit was also different height meaning the stone worktop we ordered from them would not sit flush. When I mentioned this to customer support manager I was told it is irrelevant as the silicone will stop it wobbling. In reality that is true, however it highlights the poor workmanship and lack of care that each sides of the units sit at different heights.
3. The supportive frame for the floating toilet was not flush with the front wood panel. What this meant was that if anyone was to put weight on the floating toilet it would split the front wood panel to fill the 1-2inch gap between the frame and front panel. Really bad design, and I had to pay my fitter to correct, fill the gap and make sure the frame supported the toilet without damaging the unit.
I highlighted all the above to them and asked for compensation to cover the cost of my fitter fixing the issues with their poorly designed unit, and to repair the damage on the front and repaint and was offered £200. It cost me more than that to get these things corrected and repaired, however they refused to budge. Considering we had paid around £2500 for the unit I was really disappointed with the experience. The unit looks good in fairness, but the quality is poor and their CNC design is badly thought out and clearly needs refined to be fit for purpose, particularly if you select a hanging toilet option. We had two bathrooms done at the same time and just bought Ikea units for the kids bathroom. To be honest the quality isn't that different despite it being a fraction of the price, although the drawers feel slightly better quality on Harvey George unit. Wouldn't use them again, and hoping I don't have any further issue with the unit or stone worktop as they clearly do not prioritise customer service.

I offered in this situation the refund to help cover works that you decided to have completed by your fitter as a goodwill gesture despite having offered to make the new part immediately to overcome the issue which would have minimised any cost.
THIS IS UNTRUE, YOU DID NOT OFFER A NEW PART. YOU TOLD ME THAT IF I WANTED TO PAY TO SEND THE UNIT BACK YOU WOULD TAKE A LOOK AND DECIDE IF ANYTHING YOU WOULD DO. THE COST OF RETURNING AND DELAY WITH UNCERTAIN OUTCOME WAS NOT VIABLE.

This allows us to put anything right quickly should the need arise on such bespoke items. As you said, these are indeed high value items and not mass produced so this is why we operate this policy to make sure we get it right first time and have accommodated all of our clients bespoke needs.

Thank you for showing your true colours. You perhaps feel it is clever to hide under a veil of understanding and wish to improve, however I think your latest response sums up what type of company you are. I sincerely hope Trustpilot doesn't let you change this latest response as it speaks volumes.

For clarity there was no threat of -ve review at an stage. I think you have acknowledged there were several problems with your product as the emails I have prove, so please don't be dishonest in your reply.

Just so impressed with the customer service and vanity unit from Harvey George. Toni answered every question quickly, gave advice on what to consider and what she thought would look good, sent samples and if we couldn’t work something out, sent videos on how to do something to the vanity unit. A company I would be pleased to recommend and it’s been a delight to deal with.

An absolutely fantastic company. We bought a double vanity unit. and some cupboard doors as well, whilst adding some of our own door hinges and handles to the cupboards, and some of our own plumbing fixtures to the vanity unit. When we had problems with our own added items, Harvey George were brilliant - Toni and Andrew particularly were both helpful and patient - they were amazing. And the quality of the furniture is fantastic too. We’d definitely buy from them again. Excellent service.

We couldn't be happier with the service we received from Harvey George - they were available on the phone and were able to answer all our queries promptly, they sent photos to illustrate the answers to our queries and were helpful in giving correct measurements for our bathroom fitter while we were waiting for the cabinet to arrive. They were also responsive in speeding up the delivery when we requested this. The cabinet is beautifully made and finished and I would recommend spending the extra to paying for the upgrade for the oak dovetail drawers, they are so sturdy and nicely made. This is a really high quality cabinet beyond the quality of any others we looked at in the many bathroom stores we visited and of quality beyond even our expectations. The cabinet will definitely outlast the rest of the bathroom!

Great advice and friendly chat. Can't wait to see our vanity. Would have liked an option for a beaded edge on draws in the range of vanity and toilet combination units. However, they were happy to accommodate my request for an additional cost.

Cannot rate HG highly enough. The customer service team had exceptional product knowledge (and colour knowledge too!) and were so helpful both prior to order and during manufacture. Our bespoke vanity is gorgeous and so well made. Would thoroughly recommend.
