I will rent from another rental car…
I will rent from another rental car company in the future. I booked a rental car through Hertz several months in advance, provided my flight number, and the reservation said the airport rental location would stay open until up to 7pm for flights (vs. otherwise close at 5pm). We arrived at 5:20pm, and the rental location had closed, they did not leave the key with another desk, etc. (vs. other companies like Avis, Dollar, etc. were open). We were unable to get our car, and customer service was unhelpful when we called (first AI to make it hard to speak to someone for 30-60 minutes, then 1-2 hours more of a customer service rep not helping). The customer service recommendation was to cancel our reservation and book a new one. We would have gone to another rental agency but they were out of cars. We eventually had to Uber with two young children, and then Uber to the airport the next day to get our car. Thus far Hertz has been unwilling to compensate us for the Uber expense, nor otherwise provide a discount on the reservation. I recommend you use Avis, Dollar, or another rental car company.
