Renting a car from Hertz is always the easiest pick up & return.

Easy in and out.

This is the second recent time I’ve had a really great experience at this location. The woman who is working the counter was so awesome and seems to really enjoy her job and made me feel really welcome and made the experience fast and easy. I wish I took down her name. I picked up midday and I was in and out of there in minutes.

Consistent bad experience at this Hertz location. Pickup is delayed by 30-60mins regularly even for Gold members. They don’t keep your cars ready. You need to wait for them to take pictures of the vehicle after collecting the contract which can be done in advance. No express lane for Gold members and a lady on the staff is not even apologetic about the delays which seems super unprofessional

Car was available when I needed it; Reserved meant it was there and I was able to check out within 15 minutes. Booking and turn in staff were excellent. Car was in good condition and was clean. Thank you,

Despite my early arrival and a line of customers, the staff were very pleasant and washed and moved our rental car within 25 minutes. We enjoyed the car but it did have warnings about low windshield wiper fluid and a needed oil change every time we got in. Drop off was quick and uneventful. Overall, it was a good experience with a reliable car at a reasonable price.

Pickup location is a slum. Hertz employees deserve better. They take pre-pickup photos in the dark. Seriously.
Promised car unavailable. Pickup time 9:00am. it took a hour to get a vehicle. There was 6 customers standing in line when I arrived and only one Hertz employee assisting us. Next I was directed to a rickety, filthy elevator with all our luggage only to arrive behind the same 6 customers all waiting for help from your woefully understaffed “business location” Next we spent 2 weeks trying to get help for an idiot light on the dash that no one could understand. This car computer issue caused us 4-5 solid hours of useless phone calls. Mostly to Hertz employees that have zero idea how customer service works let alone automobiles. The only bright spots of your entire organization was the gal we first encountered in Seattle and Shawn from your Corvallis Or. location.

The car I reserved, as a Hertz Gold member no less, was not available upon arrival. I was told I would need to wait for one to become available and then cleaned. Alternatively, I could upgrade. In order to keep my schedule, which included a ferry I had already paid for, I had no choice but to pay for an upgrade. This is unacceptable. If I reserve a vehicle days in advance, it needs to be there for me when I arrive.

Pick up was horrific. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get a car. Never seen anything like it

The car was not clean when I picked it up and even still had the previous renter's receipt inside the glove box. I was price-gouged on the 4 gallons of fuel they needed to add after I returned it because I did not find a gas station along the way to SeaTac.

Absolutely terrible experience. we went to pick up a car that we had made a prior booking for by calling up Hertz only to go in and get told by a rude and condescending lady at the counter that we could not rent the car because i am under the age of 25 and do not have a valid credit card. We then explained that we had called up the hertz help centre three weeks before hand and explained that I was under 25 (with valid AAA insurance) and did not hold a current credit card and they said that it was no problem at all and that we would just have to pay a $500 deposit using my debit card rather than the usual $250. This did not bother the lady behind the counter so we explained further that we had just rented a car from hertz in Salt Lake City two days before that with no issues at all and yet she did not rent us the car. I tried to ask what the difference is between giving a $250 deposit on a credit card and giving double that on a debit card with extra insurance (AAA insurance) but all I got was that is was against policy and that we needed to leave and find somewhere else to rent a car. This caused us to have to change our entire trip and loose $500 plus just to be able to change our plans. Had we been treated with respect and been treated as adults rather than being condescended, the whole affair would have been less upsetting but it was very distressing and has caused great emotional and financial upheaval as a result.

Picking up and dropping off the vehicle was extremely fast and easy. The staff were very friendly and helpful
. The vehicle was exactly as described in the booking process. We would definitely use hertz again.

I had the worst experience ever at a Hertz location with the pickup at the Hertz location in downtown Seattle - I'd give a zero (0) rating if I could.
There were several customers in line at the 8:00 AM opening with just a few staff personnel around. The customer 'check-in' (i.e. confirming a reservation) was fairly quick. However, each reservation then took at least 20 minutes to process: the vehicle still had to be prepared (cleaned, etc.), retrieved from a different floor, have 'before' photos taken, then reviewed with the customer.
The waiting location was very uncomfortable (and especially so for the families and elderly customers). It is on the floor of a large garage, has no seats and very little ventilation .
By 9:00 there were at least 20 people waiting for a car - my guess about 6 reservations with a couple families of 4 (with young children)
Since I had a later reservation, I was told to come back (in about 2 hours - near the time of my scheduled pick-up). I did that and people were still waiting from earlier check-in. After that, I still did not get a car until about 90 minutes after I returned.
It was only during this time that a couple more employees showed up and the availability of vehicles was quicker for the customers.
P.S. I've been a Gold customer for almost 40 years!

The location overbooked had no cars available. I waited for two hours. People were waiting in the hot parking structure longer than me and we’re upset.

I reserved a car in Seattle and am a gold member. I waited 90 minutes inside a parking garage with no waiting area or seating. When they finally had a car, it was much smaller than the class I reserved, but they said that was all that was available. The car was not filled with gas (noticed later and told them at return, but they did not credit me anything) and was not charged (plug-in hybrid). Overall, a poor experience.

Over 2 hours wait to pick up car in downtown Seattle. There did not have the staff to handle the customers. Car was dirty. There was still trash in the car. The car had not been washed. And finally, tire pressure was low in drivers side front tire. We had to pay to have it filled. It was at 24 pounds of pressure when we had it checked and the recommendation was for 32 pounds of pressure.

When we dropped off the car at the airport there was no one to tell about the tire losing pressure. So the problem will be there for the next customer.

It was a disaster.
