Poor Customer Service
Hi,
During my visit to the HNB Kelaniya Branch on 7 July 2026 in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, this was my first visit to an HNB branch in many years, and I was disappointed by the customer service I received from the staff member at Counter No. 5. I found her manner of speaking to customers to be unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. During my visit, I raised my concern with the acting manager who was behind the counters at the time, although I am unsure whether any action was taken.
What concerned me most was that this did not appear to be an isolated incident. While I was waiting, I noticed the same attitude being displayed toward several other customers, particularly senior citizens. It was disappointing to see them being treated in such a manner. I also observed the staff member frequently walking around the counter area laughing with colleagues while customers were waiting for assistance, which did not reflect the level of professionalism I expect from HNB.
On a positive note, I would like to commend the gentleman at Counter No. 4. He was courteous, professional, and handled my transaction efficiently. He was quick and I believe he deserves recognition for his professionalism.
I hope you will look into this matter and take the necessary steps to ensure that all customers receive the respectful and professional service that HNB is known for.
