Wilting plants interested by parasites
I bought a Dragon Tree with four stems online for £60. When I went to pick it up, only two of the four stems were left. Both were infested with parasites, and one of them was wilting. I wish I could add images here—if you want to see them, go on Google review and check homebase in Harringay, London
The seller handed me the plant and asked if I wanted a bag. Are you serious?
I can't believe I spent money to get to the store and go back home, just for this joke.

I came to collect my order which I did as a click and collect and was told it was no longer in stock once I got to the store, there was no phone call or anything to inform me in advance and I had to travel far just to collect which was a waste of time and had to be refunded. Now the item is out of stock everywhere

Useless and lazy staff
Went to pick up a confirmed Click and Collect order. Claimed some of the order was not in stock and said he’d do a refund. Refused to give any proof of a refund made. Then went and checked and items were right there in the store. Unbelievably rude and unhelpful staff.
Unethical
Try to return item within two hours of purchase, I was told they were not doing any exchange or refunds as they were closing down. The sales person pointed out small print notice near the cash desk. I was not told of no refund at the time of purchase nor this is on the sale receipt.

I purchased a Stanley knife at this Homebase store. I couldn't work out how to change the blade. I even watched a video on YouTube but no hope. I decided to take it back to the store to see if someone could assist me and Hamid kindly managed to change the blade for me. It took some time but he got there in the end! Thank you 👍

One man working on his own so the queue took ages. And then they had the wrong item so he had to wander off to look for it holding everything up again whilst a big queue behind me also

Outdoor bin click & collect …
I ordered a basic black 80 ltr outdoor bin
The click and collect was straightforward, the staff were polite and efficient, and as I had to travel home on the bus with the bin, the staff taped the lid down and made tape handles so I could carry and manoeuvre it more easily
Good overall service
Dreadful service and still haven’t received my order
The item I ordered was not available for in store despite having booked and paid for it. I received a phone call to tell me not to attempt collection.
I haven’t had a refund and I received a text message saying my order had been collected.
UPDATE: two weeks later and Harringay Homebase still haven’t solved this apparent mystery!
The worst service.

Very bad customer service
Ordered some blinds and online said they were in stock but when I went there 1 of the blinds was not in stock. The customer service guy was very unhelpful and just said chossw another colour.
Now I have to go to a different store which are almost 7 miles away to pick the missing one up.
Very bad customer service and wasted time to go and pick it up

The assistant at the Harringay home base of the click and collect was brilliant and efficient. I’ve been served by him before on the click and collect counter and he was quick and very polite unlike the other 2 assistants I dealt with before I went to collect my order. These 2 assistants need some good import from this lovely assistant who really knew how to assist the customer.
Travelled to Homebase - then informed not in stock
Arranged to collect a number of items - nearest store is far from where I live.
I wasn't informed that the main item was not available until I was there. Homebase said they left a voice message, why not send a text or an email. A total of 3 online orders none of which have been fulfilled. There is no reason to order online if available products are not actually in stock.

Waiting ages for someone to come to the Click & Collect desk. Then they wanted photo ID which I did not have. My text message stated ID. Very unfriendly service.

Super efficient and dealt with my refund straight away. Very helpful indeed and l will definitely be shopping in Homebase again soon! Keep up the great service
Great pick up but Rude and unhelpful when there was a problem
Collection was easy but when we got home found there was a fault with the mower we bought. Took it back next day and easy exchange but when we got home the mower had the same fault ..
Back again and this time was met with attitude and rudeness. Staff member politely said he couldn't exchange it again and called for a manager who without asking what the problem was also said you can't exchange again. He didn't want to listen to what the problem was but reluctantly unboxed the mower and started messing about with aimlessly. When I tried to show him the fault ( two left handed handles instead of one left and one right) he told me to be quiet and let him do it. Obviously he couldn't do it and enlisted the help of a colleague who's badge declared "expert". He ("expert")then proceeded to do the same pointless thing as the manager. When I tried to explain the issue he told me to stop talking and let him do it. My husband and I stood to one side while he continued to try the impossible. While we waited my husband asked if I had turned the oven down before we came out ( we had been in the store way longer than expected or was really necessary) and as I started to answer him the man almost yelled at me stop talking and let him do his job. After a while he finally had to concede that I was right and he took a right handed handle from a stock model and of course it solved the problem. My husband wanted to make sure it fitted and the man snapped at us and said he had other things to do....like our time was not valuable too.
If any of them had listened to me properly in the first place it could have been resolved in a few minutes but they insisted what I was saying was not possible and that I just didn't know what I was doing. Not impressed at all.

Impressed with the location of the store, few steps away from my home, very kind and helpful staff, easy to locate products and nice easy relaxing store. I will shop till I retired or till my body says so long Homebase.
