Brought a car, that was deemed dangerous!! Suspension could be done up by hand !! tools were left in the undertray when they done the oil change that was done by themselves, they charged us for work that was under warranty.. over 6 weeks they had the car, then when i collected the car i find it had been scratched from bonnet to boot whilst in their care !! Then tells me to go through my insurance.. stay clear !!!!

Been dealing with Howletts of Lavenham since 1984 when I bought my first new car from them. Trusted to service, maintain, all my cars bought from them since then. So that length of time must speak for itself! Was able to find my first electric car to spec I wanted in short time, as my 18 year old reliable car finally came unviable to repair. Helpful and friendly.

I purchased a used car in July this year and the service and advice given by Deben and Simon was excellent. the car itself was valeted and refurbished and presented not unlike a new model. During August I travelled around England and Wales visiting family and was very pleased how well the car handled the journey. One very happy and satisfied customer.

Above and beyond , from initial proper ( not 5 minutes) road test to picking up vehicle. Only dealt with 2 staff member, couldn't fault either . Nice cuppa on arrival for road test . Picked up at station on day of collecting. Cannot fault . If I lived closer , would definitely recommend and would definitely use again

The Howletts team has always gone above and beyond. I've been a customer for years and I've always had 5 Star advice and service but it's the extra mile they go that makes such a difference. Most recently following a write-off, they helped me with how to deal with my insurance claim (saving me a considerable sum) and subsequently sourced me the perfect new car, in my price range (show room condition), which they also delivered. A very good selection of clean and genuine cars on display. A long established garage an car sales serving the local community and beyond. Sales staff were friendly, co-operative, and genuinely seeking to seek fair deals satisfying the customer. Fair price paid for trade ins. Car was in showroom condition on pick up and well serviced. Good attention to detail.

An all round pleasant experience, no heavy sales pressure, test drive was comprehensive. On deciding to purchase, having looked at several other cars, Deben was most helpful and answered all my questions satisfactorily. I asked for several items to be to be serviced (cam belt, water pump, new tyre etc. all of which were agreed in the price we had negotiated. Car was immaculately prepared and ready on the agreed date, and the paperwork was completed in a helpful and professional manner. Whilst I have not used the car much to date, so far no problems are evident which leaves me very satisfied..

I was recommended to Howletts by my sister and I wasn’t disappointed. I needed a relatively inexpensive car and they had a c3 Picasso which whilst nearly 10 years old was like new. Existing car required expensive repair so Howletts recommended new car with allowance for old car fair and without reducing it for repair needed.
Knew exactly what we were looking for in new car and produced same within a week. Very happy with outcome.

I needed some urgent advice regarding a nasty clanking noise from the engine of my wife's car in the area of the auxillary components such as the Air con compressor, alternator, water pump etc driven by 2 belts from the crankshaft pulley.
As I arrived a person came out from the office area and we started to chat. I found his attitude whilst listening to engine the running, abrupt and off hand, He advised nothing could be done for 10days at least and I was told not to drive the car. He then curtailed the conversation as he was a "bit pushed" on other
matters. I went to the garage as the reviews of this long standing company were good. I now cannot understand how they gain any new business with the attitude and the way I was spoken to.
I would not recommend this business to anyone.
I returned home and after just one phone call I was advised if I could take the car over to this local garage they would have a look when I arrived. Within less than 10 minutes they had diagnosed the problem and if I was willing to leave the vehicle they would try to complete the repair during the afternoon. By 17.40 I had a call to say the car was repaired and running well after a road test. Now that's what I call service

I am so happy with the service I received from Howlett of lavenham. I enquired about looking at a car and was booked in really quickly to have a look and a test drive. Which was great! They offered me a great price for my car in part exchange too! They helped me through every step of purchasing my new car and on collection talked me through all the gadgets and buttons again and in more detail before I took my new car home! I am so so happy with all of the customer service and the whole experience of purchasing my new car. And of course I am very pleased with my new car too!
