We visited H. Samuel’s at Glasgow- Fort on a particularly busy Saturday, and while I appreciate that staff were already busy serving customers, the level of customer service we experienced was completely unacceptable.

Three staff members were positioned at the counter, yet we stood waiting for well over 15 minutes without so much as an acknowledgement. No one made any attempt to let us know that they would be with us shortly.

What made matters worse was that other customers who entered the store after us were approached and served before us. We continued waiting at the counter, and after approximately 20 minutes, one of us finally had to ask whether the staff member was actually serious about serving people who had arrived after us.

When Ian, the customer assistant, eventually served me, there was no apology or acknowledgement whatsoever for the excessive wait. Instead, he repeatedly talked over me while serving, and then proceeded to gossip with the other customers about my partner, who had understandably become frustrated and walked out of the store.

This was particularly disappointing and completely inappropriate. Rather than attempting to de-escalate an already frustrating situation, the behaviour of the staff member made matters worse and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected.

Being busy is understandable, but basic customer service, acknowledgement and professionalism should never be compromised. A simple “I’ll be with you shortly” would have made a significant difference.

I strongly feel that the staff at this branch would benefit from additional customer service training, particularly around communication, prioritising customers who have already been waiting, professionalism and de-escalating difficult situations.

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience and certainly not the standard of customer service I would expect from H. Samuel.

Smooth transaction from start to finish,also a few good deals to be had

Poor customer experience from start to finish. The service fell below basic standards. The staff member, Debbie, handled my query in a rude and unprofessional way. This is more concerning given she is a store manager.

Avoid this store, Glasgow Forth.

In contrast, my local Edinburgh store has been the complete opposite. I have had a great experience every time, and they have been very helpful.

After a last minute cancellation of a booked appointment to have my granddaughters ears pieced for her birthday within a different shop, we were advised H.Samuels did piercing. Within an hour of visiting the store, we had booked an appointment, returned and my grand daughter had her birthday wish granted. Callum (piercer) & Debbie (store staff) were both amazing, both with being an emotional crutch for my daughter watching her daughter have this done and talking to the wee one and re-assuring her all the way through the process, I’m sure both mum and daughter needed this 😂 I would highly recommend this place for your wee ones first or even second piercing, the staff were brilliant from start to finish and very supportive. Thank you to all the team. Excellent service.

Just purchased a CITIZEN ECO DRIVE but didn’t seem to get the 10% off

Casually looked at watches in store and they suggested one that was sold out but suited what I was looking for. Ordered online after reading some reviews and will collect in store. Nice and friendly customer service. Would've returned to order but as the watch was on sale I didn't want to miss out so ordered online

I cannot thank Debbie enough at H.Samuel Glasgow Fort. A few stones has came out of my eternity ring that had been purchased less that a year ago. I had lost the receipt. The ring was sent away to be assessed and came back faulty. Debbie searched the transaction receipt and finally found the purchase receipt . Debbie went above and beyond to help and advice me . Wonderful customer service. A true assist to H.samuel.

Fast and easy to find and sort what I was looking for

I had a knot in my chain which I couldn't get out, took it to h. Samuel and a very nice and friendly assistant called ASMAH sorted it for me in less than 2 minutes, I was very happy with her service and the speed which she did her work

I wrote a review on h Samuel on the 4th of December regarding my discontent at the way I was treated in the shop in Glasgow fort. Since my review I’ve had a response on my review from their head office and then buy phone call. In which the lady I spoke to could not have been any nicer. She took my details and obviously contacted the branch as later on that day I received a further phone call from a lady in the branch who again could not have been any nicer. She apologised for the way I was treated and stated she would speak to the staff member in this case. In the present climate with all that’s going on it is no surprise people can have off days and this could have just been one of they days for that particular staff member and in some ways I wish I didn’t right my first review. I have shopped in h samuels for over 40 years and always found them to be first class. And their response has been that way also. So thanks for your apology and consideration and I am happy to delete my previous review. X

Service was excellent lady was nice and polite and helped me find the perfect gift

I bought a watch for my father's for father's day and the assistant who served me was very polite and done everything in order to the covid rules very nice young man .

Staff knew of collection order so was very swift and easy

The shop was clean and I was attended to quickly and very politely. The person who dealt with me was very attentive, patient and seemed knowledgeable about the products. I was delighted with the choice of necklace and earrings.
