Multiple failures in communication, misinformation, promising things that weren't delivered and most troubiling, a failure to tax the vehicle correctly leaving me at risk of fines and my car being impounded. My formal letter of complaint:

I am writing to formally complain regarding the handling of my recent vehicle purchase and the subsequent administration of the vehicle registration and taxation process. My car is an important part of running my own business, and at several times, I have been at risk of loss of earnings due to the inadequate service I have received from your dealership.

While I had already experienced a number of issues throughout the purchase itself, I have now discovered that the vehicle has apparently remained untaxed for approximately 8 weeks following delivery due to failures on the dealership’s side, and that the V5 keeper transfer was never submitted to the DVLA despite repeated assurances and guidance provided to me throughout this period.

For clarity, the timeline is as follows:
On Saturday 7th March, an agreement was reached for collection the following Saturday. I made it clear at the time that weekday collection was not possible.
By Thursday 12th March, having received no update, I contacted the dealership and was told I would receive one.
On Friday 13th March, I was informed that only bodywork remained outstanding and that the vehicle would definitely be ready for Saturday collection. As a direct result, I arranged and paid for insurance cover.
On Saturday, no call was received. After contacting the dealership 30 minutes before the agreed collection time, I was told the vehicle was not available due to a bodywork issue and would instead be ready Monday.
On Monday, I was then informed there was also a wheel/tyre issue, despite previously being told that only bodywork remained outstanding.
On Tuesday, I was advised delivery could be arranged for Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday morning, no delivery occurred. After contacting the dealership, I was informed the delivery had not even been booked.
A video was later sent showing the completed vehicle.
Upon delivery, scratches were immediately visible on the passenger-side door which were neither visible during my initial inspection nor shown in the video provided beforehand. I was effectively told I had to either accept the vehicle in that condition or return it at my own expense.

Although I accepted the goodwill gestures offered at the time in relation to the above issues, the following separate and significantly more serious matter has since come to light:

Two weeks after delivery, having not received the V5, I contacted the dealership and was informed this could take up to four weeks.
After four weeks total, I was then informed it could take up to eight weeks. At that point, I was advised to contact your dealership to chase up on this.
After eight weeks, on the 13th April I was advised that in actuality, I would need to contact the DVLA directly.
Upon speaking with the DVLA, I was informed that no keeper transfer request had ever been received and that the car was in fact not taxed, despite confirmation from your staff that the payment had been sent.
I have now also been informed that due to a failure within your system, the vehicle had not actually been taxed during the entire period I have owned and driven it. I was advised by your staff that this would be organised to be resolved on the 14th May. I requested written confirmation of the failure to tax the vehicle on your end and as of today (15th May) am yet to receive confirmation acknowledging the fault or that the issue has now been resolved.

This means I have unknowingly been driving an untaxed vehicle for approximately 8 weeks, exposing me to the risk of fines, enforcement action, vehicle impoundment, and unnecessary legal and financial complications entirely due to failures outside of my control.

What is particularly concerning is not simply the original failure itself, but the repeated inaccurate assurances provided over the course of several weeks which prevented the issue from being identified and corrected much sooner.

Bought my car from this dealership recently and honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. Shawn was absolutely brilliant from start to finish and very friendly, easy to talk to, and never pushy at all. He made everything straightforward and took the time to answer all my questions properly.
What really stood out to me was that they changed a part on the car purely for my own peace of mind, even though they didn’t actually have to. That kind of customer service is hard to find nowadays and it showed they genuinely care about their customers after the sale as well.
The whole dealership is very professional, clean, and well organised, and everyone I spoke to was welcoming and helpful.

Excellent service very pleased also saved me money

There we excellent when i bought my vehicle thanks to Shawn, but after sales team are the worst they don’t reply to emails and if you call they tell you that they will call within an hour but they don’t. I have been waiting for my personal belongings and my refund but its been 5 weeks , i keep chasing them but they don’t care

I recently purchased a car from Infinity Car Motors and I honestly couldn’t be more satisfied with the whole experience, especially thanks to the outstanding support from the sales agent Shawn.

A while back I owned an Audi A3 which I was really attached to, but unfortunately I was involved in an accident that left the car written off. After everything was sorted, I returned to Infinity Car Motors hoping I might find something similar. To my surprise, they actually had a very close match to my old A3, just in a different colour.

At that point I was already dealing with a lot of stress, especially around finance. I had struggled to get approval elsewhere while waiting for my insurance payout to come through, which made things quite complicated. Shawn really stepped in and made a huge difference here. He took the time to understand my situation properly and worked hard to help me secure finance even before the insurance payout was finalised.

He also helped me navigate the insurance side of things, which took a massive weight off my shoulders. Everything felt much more manageable with his guidance, and he kept things straightforward and honest throughout the process.

In the end, I was able to drive away in a car that genuinely felt like the right replacement for my Audi A3, and I don’t think that would have happened without Shawn’s help. Infinity Car Motors delivered a smooth, professional service from start to finish, and I’d happily recommend them to anyone looking for a car and proper support through what can often be a stressful process.
