They contacted me to refund me when I took a second policy out

Been using this company for years and they are excellent and I am so grateful to Tania calling me today to point out the double policy and refund me. 10/10 would recommend. very impressed

You are better off getting insurance for your car rental company.
They will do anything to avoid paying out your claim. My car was vandalised whilst on holiday and they were unhappy with the invoice and a signed police report, asking for an itemised receipt from the garage, which the rental company has zero incentive to provide.
They will intentionally misunderstand the documentation due to it being in a foreign language, despite claiming to cover globally.
If youre lucky enough to get through to a human after 2 hours of calling, they will lie and tell you your claim is fine, only to then email you why they will not be covering your claim.
The online chat support is a joke, takes forever to connect and the agents are clueless.
I have given up on ever getting my full excess back.

Excellent hire care insurance
I have used insurance4car hire for a few years. They are extremely good value for money and a much cheaper option than car hire companies offer. When dealing with them, their service has been brilliant and claims are settled very quickly. I definitely recommend this company.

Excess cover insurance is great idea
Cover for car hire direct is so ridiculously expensive. Swinton offer a very agreeable solution.

Avoid!
We have been with Insurance4car hire for many years. Several years ago we had to make a small claim and it was an easy process and we were refunded the excess we had paid the car hire company.
However, after returning from holiday three days ago, I have been trying to submit a claim- online- which is the only way to do so, and each time I am either timed out ( even answering ‘do you need more time?’ and pressing the ‘yes’ button didn’t work).
Apart with running out of time, I have not been able to submit the online form, as several times when pressing ‘proceed’, I am sent back to the log in page and have to start again.
This is the third day I am attempting to submit a claim, but IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
I decided to look at reviews and realise I am not the only one having problems.
This product no longer gives peace of mind and I will be looking for an alternative policy to cover car hire abroad. I would advise strongly against using them. I really do wonder if it’s a blatant scam.

Poor confirmation and contact ability
It is 24 hours since I bought my policy and I have still not received a confirmation e-mail regarding my policy purchase. I tried to use the LiveChat service and it did not work as no-one got in touch with me for over 2 hours. I tried to find a telephone number and there was nothing for insurance 4 carhire. I got through to a Swinton number and they could not give me a number to get through and said it is only an online service - that's helpful!
