Absolutely useless company to deal with. Had every document required but because I had lost my credit card, they would not hire the car to me. I had other credit cards and debit card plus the full fee was pre-paid. This cost me over $300 plus I had to go elsewhere and pay a premium price because it was last minute. The guy at Italy By Car didn't try to help at all.

Booked a VW T-Roc or equivalent and got given a Jaecoo - useless. Told to return it full, which is normal and actually was part of the online contract but when i drove off I saw it was only half full. Returned it full and queried the issue and was told that the policy was to collect and return half full. Except the Jaecoo doesn't have a tank indicator so you can see how much is in there it just tells you in km - great if you know 300kms is half a tank! The woman who checked the car back in when we returned it was nothing short of disinterested in all this. DO NOT USE THEM - there are so many better options.

Watch out. This company is budget, but they make their money when you return your car and charge you $250 for a hairline scratch they claim wasn’t there before. They don’t go over the car upon pick up to show the condition, but ask the client to video for damage (knowing a video won’t pick up hairline scratch in a dimly lit parking lot on the underside of the car) we did take a video upon pick up and returned it in the exact same condition. Then, upon return they closely inspect for any hairline scratches. They are making hundreds off the same scratches. They tried to charge us for two other things including a rubber seal and missing hubcap, which were clearly absent in our video. They claimed our video wasn’t clear enough for the hairline scratch proof.. if you do rent, which we do not recommend, Client must beware and take detailed pictures under each corner of car and throughout. It’s an absolute scam. We rent 6 times a year in Rome and will never use them again.

Dit zijn de grootste dubieuse en onbetrouwbaare autoverhuurmaatschappij in Italy!!! Ik kan alleen iedereen voor dit autoverhuur bedrijf waarschuwen. Tussenpersonen als discoverybycar.com zijn niet hulpzaam als jij opgelicht word...want hun verdienen tenslotte aan iedere verhuurde auto door hun online boeking... mee. Jij haalt een auto op...en eerste punt die misgaat en verdacht moet zijn! ...jij krijgt een upgrade..hoewel jij hierover niet bent informeerd.. Een veel groter auto dan jij zelfs ooit zal kiezen voor de smaale straten op Sicilien. Dit gebeurt natuurlijk heel bewust...want hun rekenen op schade!!! Dus jij moet echt erop bestaat het auto weer te ruilen tegen een voertuig wat jij veilig in de engste straten van bvb. Sicilie zeker kunt besturen. Neem vooral heeeeeeel veel tijd bij het ophalen en bekijk het auto zeer intens...op al bestaande schades!!! Voordat jij het ontvangst teken. Vertrouw niet op hun formulieren met ingetekende al bestande schade...maak een video van het gehele voertuig. Als jij het voertuig naar verloop van je verblijf weer inlevert...neem iemand mee...of maak tijdens het inleveren van de auto een video als documentatie over de toestand van het auto. Hun zullen alles proberen om je aan schade aan te claimen!!! onderteken het inleveringsformulier NOOIT als jij een schade betwist. Zodat hun het bedrag afboeken van je creditcard...neem contact op met het creditcard bedrijf. Schrijf een mail aan de autoverhuur bedrijf indien u duidelijk in een zin kennbaar maakt " ...ik ben niet akkoord met het afboeken van €...... van mijn creditcard" ! Ik betwist de schade. Meer niet. Dan gaat je creditcard maatschappij voor jouw in werking....Je kans op terug krijgen van je geld is afhankelijk ervan hoeveel bewijs ...foto's video's...etc. jij kunt voorleggen. En vooral onderteken NOOIT een inleveringsformulier ( als er schade geclaimt word die er al was of die jij zker niet toegedient hebt) want dat zal een aanerkenning van hun schade claim betekenen. Het kan enkele maanden duren maar je bewijzen en de goede communicatie met je creditcard maatschappij zullen je tenminste een kans van terug voordering geven. Ik heb dit als alleereisende vrouw in Sicilie meegemaakt en dit zijn mijn ervaringen hieruit. Uiteindelijk had ik veel bewijzen dat de schadeclaim oplichting was en op bewerkte fotos beruste! hier tegenover stonden mijn video opnames en fotos !EN!! dat ik de schade altijd duidelijk betwist heb. In woord en schrift. Ja je hoord het goed hun werken met alle middelen om je geld af te pakken. Uiteindelijk had ik een super kompetente claimbehandelaar bij de credit card maatschappij die het geld terug kon halen.

Arrived Thursday 5 Feb and told no car as they couldn’t get them into airport due to Olympics. Funny how the company next door has a car. Had to hire for 24hrs from another company and then go back to malpensa to get the car again on Friday morning. Extra 76 euros for hiring a car with another company. Lovely guy at Italybycar when picking up but a tyrant on return who found a hair scratch - not a proper cratch but one you see all over cars that would be impossible for us to do on our motorway drive as it had no indentation at all. She said prove it but how can we but beware. We normally always take photos but to be honest would never have taken of this as it’s the faintest line on the bonnet. They are scamming us - and she knew it - she was just in that type of mood - we won’t be going back and want you All to be aware Don’t use them and photograph everything irrespective of when they say anything small irrelevant.

Mi hanno tolto i soldi dalla carta di credito , per un presunto scheggiatura al vetro , loro ti consegnano delle chiavi e devi andare a prendere la macchina in un piano completamente al buio , appena presa la macchina uscito alla luce ho subito notato la scheggiatura al vetro , chiamati immediatamente all” aeroporto di Venezia , mai risposto , mandato immediatamente mail mai risposto , alla riconsegna dell” auto mi hanno addebitato tanti soldi sulla carta di credito dicendo che avevo fatto io il danno , ma assolutamente vero , il danno già c’era al momento del ritiro , da me subito contestato , una società di noleggio senza assistenza e usa questi metodi per far pagare al cliente i ds no già presenti sul veicolo , non noleggerò mai più una macchina da loro , fate attenzione a non farvi fregare attenzione attenzione

Affittato auto a cagliari in aereporto, prezzo buono, abbiamo fatto anche la polizza per la copertura totale, la macchina bella tutto ok, poi succede l’impensabile, addebito di 20€ perché la tacca della benzina dava non pieno, ma era una cosa impossibile visto che abbiamo dimostrato con scontrino e kilometraggio che avevamo fatto il pieno, e anche in base ai km percorsi e i litri fatti di benzina era matematicamente impossibile che mancava benzina, cmq dopo il reclamo nulla di fatto e ci hanno fregato i 20€. Brutta esperienza visto che leggendo in giro é un giochetto che fanno spesso questo della tacca della benzina, complimenti!

noleggiata macchina a lamezia terme airport, piena di botte e graffi. mi hanno fatto problemi al rientro della macchina perche' secondo loro mancava una tacca di benzina, quando l'ho riportata esattamente come l'avevo presa. personale poco cordiale e disponibile.
