I asked this company to quote on a solar system - everything was very professional, they presented very well.
They were significantly more expensive than alternative suppliers, but I wasn't looking for cheap and cheerful.
On the basis of their apparent professionalism I said i would proceed with them.
At that point they asked me for a £7500 deposit, even though they had not conducted a technical survey. I refused but told them I would do so as soon as the tech survey was completed and prices set in stone.

After the tech survey they hiked the priced significantly - despite there being no change to the spec of the system or the associated groundworks. When I insisted on a breakdown of the increase I found that they had doubled the charge for some groundwork. The work was already costed in the original quote. Their new charge was double what was being quoted by two other companies - for exactly the same work.

They failed to give a specific reason for the doubling of costs just that they were allowed to change the prices after a technical survey. They mentioned things like "different finish" and "we may need a skip" but they know full well that this was disingenuous - the "finish" was the same as before and they would need a skip anyway.

I'm glad I didn't give them a deposit. I've told them that I wont be proceeding with them.

Following cancellation they asked me what my budget was and then offered to re-look at the quote - They gave the impression that they knew they had over-charged and just wanted to get the maximum they could charge to hit my maximum budget. !!

I think I may have swerved a bullet here.

Update - Thanks for the reply but the only reason why I didn't end up paying JPS a deposit is that I refused to !!! JPS asked me to pay a deposit before they raised the price. I acknowledge you are in business to make a profit, but taking advantage of customers is not fair. You shouldn't ask for a deposit before the price is finalised and you shouldn't raise prices just because you feel you can get away with it. There was no justification for raising the price at all.

Communication has been great throughout the process. The guys that came on-site to carry out the work were all personable & professional and worked hard throughout the day. The standard of workmanship was very high and the site was left clean and tidy.

I would also like to highlight some of the comments from our neighbours who also noticed the teams hard work and high standard of finish. I would have no hesitation in recommending JPS to friends, colleagues and neighbours. Thank you!

I initially spoke to Simon in the office and had a first class response from him regarding an adjustment I wanted to my Zappi car charger. Then very swiftly Lee and Spence who did the original install turned up to help me. I was very impressed with them at the time of the install and today just enhanced that feeling. They know exactly what they are doing and do it really well and go way above and beyond. A great response from a great company. Top!

Just had a Zappy car charger installed. The team (Luke and Spencer) did a great job. Tidy install. Well mannered. Had a small issue with my existing home battery (givenergy) just after the installation. But they came back and reset. All working and happy with the installation.

I am extremely grateful for the team effort from JPS Renewable energy, great support from my first approach onwards and the installation itself was ultra-professional, friendly and trust-building. I was delighted with the responsiveness to any requests I made and I am very happy with the final outcome. Thank you JPS!

What a great company. From initial contact, through lots of remodelling and question answering, the initial conversations were prompt, patient, and understanding of a solar newbie. When we arrived at a suitable specification the ordering process was clear and the installation done on time and by one of the most friendly and professional crews we have had the pleasure of meeting. Definitely 10/10 from us and as and when we look to add storage to our Zappi and 24 panel array, we know exactly who to call.

From initial contact with JPS, and their staff, you get the feeling you’re in good hands. They were able to accommodate our far from standard needs and came in at very competitive prices.
The two day install started with a slight hiccup that was immediately sorted out and to our benefit too. The team on site were very professional and respectful to us and our property, something you don’t always get with some workmen.
If you’re in their area, I can but only recommend you get in touch for all your solar and Tesla battery needs, JPS are great!

We have had this company in to install an EV charger and we were very impressed with the service given. The installers arrived promptly, were polite and proficient, they work extremely tidily. Unfortunately during the install a problem was found with our main supply so work had to stop as they were instructed by UK Power Network to shut the electricity supply off. UK Power Network eventually rectified the problem and after a quick phone call to the team at JPS, they dispatch a team to finish the installation straight away. We are now the proud owners of a working EV charger. During the time we were waiting for the electricity problem to be fixed JPS were very helpful and asked if there was anything they could do.
We would just like to say that the company have a very good customer service record and we would recommend them to anyone who is after an EV charger to be installed.

I am so pleased with the JPS recommended and installed LG solar panels with enphase inverters as installed in 2018, so when I wanted to investigate a battery system, they were the only people to ask.
JPS recommended a givenergy battery and inverter be installed.
The system has been expertly installed and works very well. In particular, the information available to you and the givenergy cloud site where you can see your energy usage, are excellent, too.
Very impressed and thoroughly recommended!

Recommended by a family member. Very pleased I found them. Excellent service, with a site visit, impartial advice, thoughts for future-proofing, cost options and, finally, a smooth installation process.

I’m still in the process off getting permission to install my EV point installed at an apartment block but all I can say is Richard Owen has gone the extra mile (actually 100 miles or more) to help me with everything that my management company want for what is a stupid little install of just one point if when I get my permission the work is as good as the support I’ve had so far I’ll give this company and especially Richard Owen 200 STARS for their service, I tried 6 companies in total to get this moving forward all but two failed to even respond to my request JPS and one other did come out and do a survey the other company didn’t even bother to come back to me with a quote. Anyone who wants a personal recommendation of this company are welcome to contact me they are brilliant and I would recommend them above all others

This review is a bit of an odd one and will sound critical, but it's just an honest and transparent overview of my experience with JPS.
In October of 2020 I had them install:
-2x Tesla Powerwall 2's
-1x Zappi Car Charger
-6.46kw in roof LG solar across 3 roofs
-Rewire my Tesla Wall Connector to charge my car faster
-Undertake groundworks to run car c cabling to my garage

I won't bore you with the detail, but it felt like JPS's strategy is a little backward. What should have been the easy parts (sales and admin), they got wrong but the install itself was terrific.
As a customer, if you have to have one part of the experience go badly, you want it to be the sales/admin side and not the install itself.
Examples of things going bumpy in my purchase:
-Continually got the prices wrong (I'm partly to blame for this, but a basic CRM system should have caught this every time it happened)
-The panel layout initially discussed was not possible and I was only advised right before install (this lead me to believe the salespeople I was dealing with were inexperienced)
-Senior sales member called me once he was already late for an appointment, to tell me he may be another hour or so (this really wound me up as I'd cleared my work schedule around him)

However, I'm pleased to say that the installation team at JPS were beyond exceptional. They were great, super courteous and a pleasure to have to work at my home with my family.
Often it's the installation side that goes wrong after a sales team over-promises, but with JPS it was the opposite experience. They underpromised and over-delivered.
Their work was neat, tidy and to a very high standard which more than made up for the frustration I felt at the beginning of the process with sales.

The only gripe I have is that the skip company they used destroyed the paving bricks on my driveway, so I'll need to buy new ones, but I'm not entirely sure that's JPS's fault to be fair so I never pestered them with it.

Would I recommend them? 100% Yes.
Would I use them again? Quite likely, yes.
Overall 9/10. They'd get a 10 if they can improve pre-sales and the skip people they use.

Really great service - team were very knowledgeable, fitted the solution to our house and turned up on time! Solar panels are working really well.

I would have no hesitation to recommend JPS to family and friends (and have already done so). From quote to completion they have been friendly, informative, professional and thorough. They explained all the options to us and answered all our questions with patience.
The work was completed to a high standard - all very neat and tidy with minimal distruption.
We are now the proud owners of a 32 panel solar array, tesla powerwall and Zappi EV charger.
They really did go above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with the service.

Had a car charger fitted by these people Richard was really helpful and Alex the fitter was great I would totally recommend this company

I do not recommend JPS Renewables. The director literally screamed and shouted at me (on camera) when I said I was not happy with their installation
