Can’t make this crap up

I don’t like someone picking and delivering my groceries. A pinched spinal cord and rheumatoid arthritis makes it so I have to sometimes. So, I order and pay first my groceries online. Lets say it totaled $110.00. I received 2 texts simultaneously. The first was “I substituted this soda for that” and the second (at the same time) “I’ve finished the order and on my way”. As soon as I seen the texts I get another notification from my bank. Kroger’s charged my card $12.78. I called Krogers support immediately as I don’t live far from the store and was explaining the situation as my shopper pulled in with the groceries. She over heard part of my conversation about being charged $12.78 extra. She said “oh, that might have been me. They were out of stock on your 24 pack of Dr. Pepper (on sale $10.99) so I got this twelve pack for you and scanned it on the way out”. Dumbstruck, I asked “so the twelve pack was $12.78? She said “I dont know I just scanned it through”. So I said “do you shop for yourself this way”? “ I ordered 2 24 packs of soda for $10.99 each, you said they didn’t have one case, did they have the Pepsi 24 pack? “Oh yeah I have it right here”. “Okay, why would you substitute a 12 pack that is $2 dollars more than a case” and then charge me for both”? “Oh, that’s what I always do”? The Kroger support lady said cancel the order and send them all back. I did. Tomorrow will be a week and I’m still calling and asking where my refund is. Kroger support emailed a letter stating they were going to refund my money on Thursday but here I sit, hungry. And they’re oh so sorry that this happened to a valued customer. I think we all know any one of us can send money around the world, let’s give Kroger’s the benefit of the doubt and say 5 minutes (30-60 seconds). And here I sit, hungry.

Charged for items not received

This review refers to deliveries by Kroger online in Madison, TN (not Instacart) -

I used to order from Kroger online without issues. I stopped and used Prime for some years, but was experiencing issues with expired produce. Decided to try Kroger online again. Worst decision and so much worse than Prime. Out of my two recent Kroger online orders, I experienced the following issues: Order 1 - charged for over $50 worth of items that I did not receive / Order 2: charged for $28.95 worth of items that I did not receive.

Trying to obtain a refund was a time consuming, frustrating ordeal on both occasions. Since it is not easy to prove that items were not received, requesting a refund for such large amounts potentially makes me look questionable. Customer service kept me on hold for abnormal lengths of time, deliberately I think. I felt they may not have believed me. I do not appreciate being put in this position.

I will be shopping in store at Kroger for small items only in future. I won't be using Kroger online delivery services again.

Congratulations Rawlins Wy - WORST KROGERS

Congratulations! YOU are the WORST Krogers I've EVER visited. Further. CLEARLY NO ONE CARES at Kroger. I wrote Customer Service (ha! joke!!) on 9/23/24 to report the PATHETIC experience in your store - and NO ONE bothered to reply, so... here's my original report to Kroger...

I have been a Krogers customer for about 13 years now. Only recently have I relocated to regions where I can shop at Krogers. I *almost* always find it to be a superior experience. Today in the Rawlins "City Market" was anything but.

I would characterize the store as DISGUSTING, DINGY, DEPRESSED. I know they recently had a problem with their frozen storage - that did not impact me as I ATTEMPTED to shop the store. (I learned this from the manager.) I was interested primarily in FRESH produce, chicken, yogurt and perhaps more if I was not so turned off as I walked the store.

The produce section was DISMAL - virtually NO organic and what organic was there was BAD. The non-organic lettuce was also wilted. This is NOT typical of any other Kroger store I have been to. I'm a traveler and wherever there is a Smiths or Fred Meyers, I preferentially shop there. ALL Krogers (except this one) are generally fine (or better.)

This store, put simply is the WORST kroger's I've EVER been to. If I were the CEO of Kroger, I'd shut it down, fire the management, install a new team and do a MAJOR renovation.

The chicken pricing was NOT competitive. Valley Foods - a SMALL store in Saratoga was 35% less for natural, skin on thighs.

Foragers Yogurt - a STAPLE at most Krogers was NON-EXISTENT. Ham steak? Forgetaboutit!!

I know Rawlins is not Steamboat Springs, but geez, couldn't it be as good as your store in Rock Springs???

Bottom line, I WASTED an 80 mile round trip drive to go to this City Market and BOUGHT NOTHING. I returned to Saratoga and shopped at Valley Foods. While I remain in Saratoga, I will shop there OR Walmart in Rawlins. I would WELCOME a decent Krogers in Rawlins.

I've visited Rawlins many times over the past 8 years or so, while this store was never spectacular, it was NOT nearly as poorly stocked, priced and DISGUSTING as it is now.

Please fix it or CLOSE it as it is only degrading Krogers fine reputation. Again, I wish I had NOT wasted an 80 mile round trip (about 5 gallons of diesel fuel) made PRIMARILY to grocery shop. Too bad there really aren't ANY grocery stores in Rawlins at this time.

We recently have had the pleasure of ordering lunch for our work at the Kroger Windsong Ranch deli and I can confidently say expect a great experience and good food! From the moment I walked in Ms. Yvonne and her team jumped into action. The food is always ready when promised, hot, and delicious. They have also helped me choose side dishes to go with the chicken. I recommend ordering from this deli, rather your ordering for a few or 100 like us. This team goes above and beyond! Thanks Kroger!

First time ordering

First time ordering. Most of the stuff you want is not in stock and when you do order expect a good portion to be substituted. Got their credit card and all, thinking this would be a good experience. It's not the greatest so far. Also their website when scrolling through food, you can not open more options. Just repeats the same even though it shows over 1000 options

Horrible

I tried Kroger delivery once again due to time slots being filled with HEB, which I love and never have a problem with. Once again my delivery is over 2+ hours late. Also, I always make sure and have my delivery time several hours out in case I need to add an item. As soon as my order was placed I try to add an item within 15 minutes and I was not allowed. Never again.

0 ⭐️ if I could, online shopping is the worse, I was over charged due to a “system glitch”, to my back up debit card then I was told they couldn’t put the funds back on my back up debit card because I use my EBT card with the same order and they had to put it back on my EBT card 30 days later…. I’m still waiting on my refund.

Don’t get gifts in Bucyrus Ohio Krogers store

I wanted to buy gift cards in the Bucyrus Krogers store. But because a woman, the day before almost got scammed I couldn’t buy any gift cards. I showed proof that I use the gift cards I wanted to purchase but they got very rude with me. And I said then take the gift card display down if you want sell them. It had a special that you buy them and get 2times the gas points! So I lost out on the points for gas but I had to get them 30 miles away from me. Very poor service.

Kroger Corporate Online Customer Service is Horrible

Shop for groceries at Krogers weekly. Use the online coupons. Have been a customer for 22 years. All of a sudden, (60 days ago) am no longer getting my Best Customer Bonus, Best Customer Exclusive, Boost Member Exclusive nor my Savings for You coupons dropped into my online account. They just went away. I tried a Chat and got nowhere, I sent an e-mail 3 weeks ago - no response. I called again today and got through to an actual Human employee named Kishma (little language barrier) she said she would check with her supervisor. Comes back and says you will get them back starting on 7/1/24. I asked why did this happen, response don't know you will get them back on 7/1/24. I asked her to please find out what was happening, she says I can't my supervisor didn't tell me. I asked to her ask her supervisor, she said NO. I asked to speak with her supervisor, she said NO. Then would not hang up the phone nor would she speak to me when I spoke to her.

This is my second attempt at…

This is my second attempt at corresponding with you in regards to the draconian conditions at the Texas City Kroger store. To refresh your memory – I was a part-time employee in the bakery department. I started working for Kroger in December 2023 and voluntarily terminated my employment on June 10, 2024. I never had any issues with being written up (it is odd that Kroger resorts to this practice before any verbal counseling or redirection but that is just one of many poor management practices at Kroger) until I gave notice that I was leaving. I gave a month’s notice in order to be available to cover for other bakery employee vacations, and since giving notice I have been written up twice in one week. One write up was for not following “tortilla standards” (which no one is aware of) which I was totally unaware and the other one was for not filling tables correctly – something else I was never trained on. It is absolutely unbelievable that Kroger employees – your most valuable asset, by the way – are treated with blatant disrespect and at times downright meanness by so called managers. It is safe to assume that this occurs because they (store management) suffer no consequences for treating people so poorly as upper management/corporate types apparently condone these practices. It is not unusual to see employees in tears at work due to excessive browbeating by managers (who are for the most part uneducated – high school graduates at best – and have had no training in good management practices) who refuse to address them with even a modicum of respect as well as refusing to adequately staff the store in order to preserve profits and management bonuses. Their behavior is reminiscent of the tyrants who ran the sweatshops in the early part of the last century. It is very odd that in 2024 any corporation, especially one like Kroger, would choose to model themselves after such a not only much maligned but also failed system of management.

I am hopeful but not too optimistic that raising awareness of these deplorable management practices will effect positive change for those still unfortunate enough to be employed at Kroger. I am fortunate in that I did not have to work but I will never forget the horrible plight of those left behind to suffer at the hands of the most incompetent, mean spirited people I have run into in many, many years.

You all may want to heed some of Sir Richard Branson statements –

“Train People well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to”.
“Take care of your employees and they will take care of your business. It’s that simple”.
“Loyal employees are assets – NOT LIABILITIES.

Of course, Kroger’s mentality and priority - corporate greed.
Dictators, no leaders.
Pretty sad the rating and review Kroger has and no one pays attention.
Hope for the best, to my ex-fellow employees.

it is the usual lack of quality at…

it is the usual lack of quality at kroger. broken egg stuck the the bottom of the carton. i looked at the eggs by lifting the cover but i guess i need to twist them. a typical kroger response would be 'oh you damaged them in transit.' and try to get a refund? forget about it. receipt, credit card, passport and birth certificate. it is never worth the trouble of trying to get a refund.

and this nonsense to scan items in the store to get a discount. sometimes it works. when it doesn't, it backs up the checkout line so hurry up and wait a kroger. self scanners are always problematic so i never use them. i wish there was another store close to me.

Couldn't find things in store I've been…

Couldn't find things in store I've been shopping for 30 years. So tired of looking for things their out of. When I left to go to car. I was parked 1 row outside their boundrie. Wheels of cart locked up in middle of traffic. Had to drag cart out of traffic and leave it to go get car. I have made my last trip to Kroger.
