Hello Anne, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We really appreciate it. I'm sorry to hear that the letting agent did not respond to your request for a viewing.

As a property search engine we do not manage the flats or houses directly or organise the viewing ourselves, and rather we show the properties that are passed to us by the letting agents on Lettingweb.com allowing people searching for a new property to enquire to the agent, either via email form or by phone number provided on the advert. All viewing requests and responses from then on are dealt with directly by the letting agent who manages the property.

Unfortunately, we cannot control how and when the letting agent responds, which is not entirely helpful for someone actively seeking to move, but your feedback is appreciated on this topic and rest assure that we are now actively seeking ways in which we can help improve the communication between prospective renters and agents.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, it means a lot to collect the experiences from our users.

For clarity, the job that lettingweb.com do is to present as the largest selection of rental properties in Scotland allowing them to make the best decision on their next property.

Although we have far greater aspirations, our function is somewhat similar to a yellow pages from the 90s, a choice of businesses and their services and then when you find one that meets your search criteria, you make contact.

In short, we match letting agents with available properties to actively moving or researching tenants looking for their next property.

Once a tenant sends an enquiry to an agent, the dialogue is directly between the parties and not on lettingweb.com

it is disappointing to hear that you perhaps found a great property but application process with the agent didn't meet your expectations.

Reflecting on all the feedback we have received, it is clear to me that there is a massive gap between presenting choice to a consumer user and them arriving at their desired end state.

We have a lot of work to do with our letting agent customers to create a solution that helps everyone involved in the process create value.

We wouldn't be aware of how widespread these issues are if it wasnt for you taking the time to share your experiences with us and it is our commitment to our users that we are taking this seriously and as a result of listening, we are setting the expectation we will do something about it.

Great to hear from you, thank you for taking the time to share your experiences, we appreciate it.

I'm delighted that you finally managed to rent a property, fingers crossed it is everything you hoped it would be.

Disappointed that the property you may have found on lettingweb.com didnt progress with the agent, again, as you will see from the newsfeed of user sentiment, it is a common issue.

Our job is to simply present a choice of properties to people like you who were actively seeking to rent a property in Scotland. Almost like a google for properties, we bring 70% of every available property to rent in Scotland on lettingweb.com and allow prospective tenants to review all the content until they find a perfect match.

From this point, the contact is directly between the prospective tenant and the agent, thus our function is to help you find a property you love and then in an ideal world the process with the agent would allow you to progress to renting.

We need to find a better way to support our agent users in dealing with the volume of enquiries they get and we need to do more to help good tenants get the attention from agents they need so that everyone wins.

Thank you for taking the time out your day to share your experience of using lettingweb.com with us, it really is appreciated.

Since the introduction of trust pilot to lettingweb.com, this seems to be a recurring theme and without the feedback from users like yourself, we wouldnt have this awareness and thus wouldn't be able to improve our product to better serve our users who are looking for their next property.

In this case, our role is to present a large choice of available properties for our consumer users. i.e. help our users view the largest choice of properties in Scotland on a single site, from as many agents as possible.

We cannot control how and when agents respond, which isnt entirely helpful for someone actively seeking to move (and all the attached stress, emotions that go with this process), but the feedback has been so great on this topic that we are now actively seeking ways in which we can help improve the communication between prospective renters and agents.

Thank you for your feedback, I think the short answer is you are entirely right, it is our job to help users get to where they need to be in as few movements as possible, using data and tools to help guide them towards a list of preferred properties.

We are actively working on ways to improve the enquiry process that limits the volumes of data an agent has to wade through to increase the probability of a response.

But at this moment, the job that sites like lettingweb.com or other classified sites like gumtree do is to present a volume of choice to a consumer and match them to someone that is looking for a tenant.

The communication process is left to the parties using the platform and given the feedback we are listening too, it is abundantly clear that prospective tenants are not getting what they want.

Be assured, we take this feedback seriously and will now be actively looking at ways to improve this process and track responses.

In collecting feedback from our users (good, bad and indifferent), we are making a commitment to listen, learn and apply changes to our product based on customer feedback.

In short, we are making a public commitment to put our users at the heart of our business, allowing us to present a marketplace that helps people build the confidence using our data and tools to make the best possible decision on their next property move.

Our job at lettingweb.com is to present the largest choice of available rental properties to our users, across the 415 agent branches.

Conversely, this choice translates into prospective tenants for the agents.

In short, we present choice to consumers/tenants and help agents fill their available properties.

We currently have no control over agents responding to our enquiries, but you have raised an extremely valid point and it is something we will need to seriously consider in future developments.
