If you want a garage that you can drop…
If you want a garage that you can drop your car off, never hear from anybody, not be able to get through on the phone to ask them what’s going on, and that ignore emails, you’ve found it. Do you want to use the car you bought? Sorry, not happening if you get work done here.
A repair they did under warranty failed in less than 10 months. When taken back in, they told us that their work isn’t covered. So confident they are in their own workmanship and parts, the moment you pay them you’re on your own.
They even charge you £120 for the privilege of diagnosing the problem you told them about.
What caused it? A stone chip apparently. On three sides of the car. At the same time. Remarkable diagnostics. Definitely not terrible parts.
A complaints email will sort it you might think. Or even a formal complaint. Both of these will be ignored.
Ring sales though, they answer. And when they can’t do anything because they’re not in the same department, you’ll get a call back before the weekend to make sure you know what’s going on and aren’t left ignored for 2 more days. Nope, theyll ignore your calls, leave and turn the phone off, leaving you without a car for 2 weeks for a 1 day repair.
Lookers VW Preston have single handedly ensured a loyalty to a brand of car I’ve bought since my first car 25 years ago, ends with this one. Never buying a VW again.
Hands down the worst garage I’ve ever been to. Expensive, unresponsive, neither proactive nor reactive, and when their poor repairs fail you’re on your own.

MOT took 2.45 hours instead of 1 hour…
My booked MOT took 2.45 hours instead of the usual 1 hour. I wasn't made aware of the delay at any time until I asked if my car was ready 1.30 hours later.
It was very annoying that Looker did not tell of the delay so i could have taken alternative action. Problem has been raised directly to Lookers so I don't know why I received this review request. Looker people just don't seem to want to communicate with customers.

Terrible after sales! AVOID
Sales were great but terrible experiences with service department.
Tried to claim on warranty and blatantly lied to on several occasions that I was on a waiting list for 18 months!! Then denied that I’d even raised an issue with them to the ombudsman! They didn’t even respond to VWuk. You live and learn! Avoid at all costs. Horrible company to deal with. I’d never buy a car from them again!

Poor - VW Preston
Great when they’re selling you a car! But absolutely poor after sales. Can never get through to service. Funny how sales always answer though! - leave your number for a call back that never happens. Weeks of this & constant excuses (rather than proper acknowledgement) for their poor customer service has now led to this review.

The service dept whilst extremely busy were extremely helpful. I was quite ill and unable to get the car to the garage for pre booked major service & MOT. A member of staff kindly was allocated to collect it early that morning for which I am extremely grateful

20k service
I booked my VW T-ROC in for a 20K service at Lookers Preston. The booking process was very easy and straight forward answering all my questions.
Took my car along on the date and was greeted by John at service reception who informed me of the procedure and confirmed all costs.
The service was completed on time and John text me to say when the cars would be ready for collection. Service completed and car valeted.
All staff were friendly, polite, knowlwdgable and proffesional. Very pleased with the service I recieved.

Excellent Service
On arrival for our MOT we were met by friendly staff who booked us in and advised us of the timescale for our appointment.
The progress of our MOT was sent to us via our phone with a video as well.
Overall we were happy with the professional service we’ve come to expect from our VW centre.
