Overcharging and awful service
We had Martindales appointed by insurance company after a break in when we were on holiday. Almost as big crooks as those that broke in and stole our cars.
Poor quality locks fitted and charged us double what locals would do for the better quality locks. Initially refused to supply invoices and only did so under duress.

Firstly, we are sorry to see you had felt the need to leave a 1* review in relation to our service.
We were appointed by your home insurance provider in July 2025 to secure your property on an emergency basis. Our locksmith was with you the same afternoon & quickly secured your home by replacing the barrel & handles on a like-for-like basis, thus returning your home to its pre-loss position. Please be advised that any upgrades to higher quality locks would have been an additional charge, as your insurance policy covers like-for-like only.
We have a pre-agreed fixed price schedule with your insurer & our costs were invoiced in accordance with the same. Once authorised by your insurance company, we were able to share a copy of the invoice with you.
In line with your insurance policy, you made your excess payment & your insurer covered the costs above this amount. Our file was then closed in August 2025.
We apologise again if your feel dissatisfied, but we have acted in accordance with our agreement with your insurer.

Would recommend unreservedly
Andrew and his colleague replaced our front door that had been damaged during an emergency service call out having previously been authorised by our insurers to assess the case. On each occasion their service was excellent at what was a very difficult time for us - not only did they have the technical skills to do a perfect job and punctual they also showed great sensitivity to a recently bereaved family.

10/10 experience all round.
Really great experience with Martindales, lovely guy who came and measured up, gave me all of my options and was completely honest about what he recommends and why. Then 2 fabulous fitters who were polite, friendly and professional and got the job done quickly to a very high standard - super happy with my new composite front door and door frame - also got a random refund as the work costed less than originally quoted which is very honest and good of them, the quote was cheaper than everywhere else to begin with so a refund was quite the treat! 10/10 service great company.

Top service
Don and Curtis came out to replace my broken glass, they were friendly, efficient and very mindful of furniture and making sure my cats didnt get out. Cant have asked for a better service!

Kitchen window replaced
Don and Curtis came to replace a window as the glass had shattered. The company was assigned from my insurance company.
They did the job quickly and professionally. They were tidy and even fixed my front door which had dropped in the frame. Would recommend.

Great job, friendly & helpful, tidy workers
After a nightmare start to their day (motorway closures), Don & Curtis got straight onto the job in hand, replacing both front & back doors. They kept me informed throughout the day. There were a couple of hiccups along the way, but they were resolved quickly & with minimal fuss. A "cavalry" of Don & Curtis' workmates turned up, later on in the day (due to the delay caused by motorway closures & said hiccups), to help ensure the job was finished on time. They made sure they cleaned up after themselves.
Don, Curtis & gang were a pleasure to have around. Thanks guys!
