Ordered an Allett mower with cassettes in June. Was told there was a delay, tried to contact them with no response to emails, the phone doesn’t accept incoming calls. Contacted my bank and they organised a chargeback, received my money back two days later. I think the outfit has folded, if not I certainly would not do business with them again. I was attracted by the lower price they offered. I have gone direct to Allett and have had a great experience with them

Just to update everyone who has had issues. I have been in contact with Bristol trading standards on 5 July 2021, who are fully aware of this companies activities and have been in contact with me my phone. I eventually received a full refund from my credit card company, who were obstructive, awkward, stalling, inept, inefficient, and as frustrating as the vendor. Bristol trading standards admitted that they have received numerous complaints regarding mowersupermarket/ Avon garden machinery. Obviously this company are still trading, so enforcement action has not been taken, to your disadvantage. Don't order from this company and report them. If you have placed an order after July this year, and have suffered a loss, you may have a claim against trading standards, for failing to take action against known fraudulent activity. This is a disgrace and someone is accountable..

I've been scamed like so many others and those who have given excellant rating don't believe it!
I paid for a cassette cartridge for my lawn mower £284 in July 2021 which said was in stock,and paid on my debit card.Following day i get email just saying refunded?
I checked with the bank over a week and guess what...No refund!
Rang the company repeatedly and they don't answer the phone.
I am now waiting to hear from the bank if i can make a claim?
Why is this business still trading and why is it trading under Avon garden machinery and Mower Supermarket?
So avoid at all cost!

I ordered and paid for a hedge trimmer in June 2021. I immediately received a confirmation e mail and was informed that the product would be delivered via 'Standard delivery' which I assumed meant 7-10 days. However, when the item failed to arrive I tried to contact the company both by e mail and by 'phone but without success. I paid by Visa Debit card and I am not sure where I stand in relation to a Chargeback. I just wish that I had read the reviews for both Avon Garden Machinery/ Mower Supermarket before purchasing. The whole episode appears to be a scam and I wonder how Trading Standards are not involved with so many negative reviews.

One star is one too many, completely fraudulent company. I fell for the very professional web site and ordered a mower for £525 I was a bit suspicious when I received the invoice which stated they would “be in touch as soon as the payment was cleared” I had paid by credit card! They don’t answer the ‘phone and don’t respond to emails. I finally received an email stating the money had been refunded, it hadn’t and so far hasn’t.
I have raised a disputed transaction with John Lewis Partnership Card but as yet no action has been taken by them. A search on Company’s House shows this to be a one man band trading from a single small premises
Need prosecuting
This company are a complete joke. We searched for a lawn mower and found one on this site £100 cheaper than everywhere else - there is a reason for that, they have not got them and have no intentions of supplying.
They take customers money and then refuse to communicate with you. I can bet money on the address for this company being an empty warehouse somewhere. The trouble is they get away with it because if investigated they would just say supply issues and we are trying to get the products. They operate under various names again a reason for that because why would any company do that unless there are 2 completely different sides to the business - not the case here all gardening supplies.
Do not touch them go elsewhere and pay more to guarantee supply.
Now having to go through credit card company to get our £1400 back.
Worse than Terrible!
My experience is like many others - terrible. I bought a go-kart for my son’s birthday. I placed my order, had an acknowledgement, they took my money, circa £135, and then nothing. After 3 weeks I complained, and was sent the wrong (much cheaper) item. I’ve been phoning and e-mailing everyday for a week to let them know, but with no response. Now I’ve read other reviews I’m not waiting any longer and I’ll call my bank and let them sort it out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Just wish I’d looked here first…. smh

Finally got my bank involved and they refunded me,. I contacted trading standards!

Do not use
ordered tow hitch online, wrong one delivered from Avon garden machinery which is the same company cant get hold of them and not responding to emails, had to get the credit card company to refund me but still have the wrong hitch and no instructions on how to return it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - took £4399 from me for a Stiga ride on mower. No delivery, four weeks later no correspondence and no delivery or refund. Have had to escalate to PayPal. Wish I’d read these reviews before ordering!!!!

As others have said, do not do business with this company. Ordered a chainsaw mid December, after chasing for delivery was told their supplier had left them down and stock was not expected 5/1. Said I'd wait (a mistake!) since then been chasing continuously - phone goes straight to answerphone with no means of leaving a message and emails all ignored. Bank now involved to do a chargeback.
I wouldn’t use this company
Ordered a go kart in November 2020 for a Christmas present. Initial confirmation received, but then got to a couple of weeks before Christmas and I had no further contact so I phoned and emailed with no response. No go kart for Christmas. Still chasing 11th January and no return of call or email to date. Please don’t risk losing your money with this company.
Avoid at all costs
Charge your card straight away, don’t send item. Don’t reply to phone or email. Even the eventual email stating “refunded” is a porky.

Good service and communication
Confirmed item was physically in stock as other internet retailers were showing in stock on their web sites but they did not have stock and there was several weeks delay from manufacturers. The lady, Charlotte, I emailed was helpful , confirmed stock and delivery. Order was placed, mower arrived on day I was told. Good service and fast communication. I Will use again.
The worst company I have ever dealt with.
I ordered a bulb planter in October which, according to the website was in stock & delivery would be 3-5 days. They took payment immediately but after 19 days it still had not arrived. I emailed them, as impossible to contact by phone & was told it would arrive Friday, although they didn't actually specify which Friday! I waited several more days then emailed again twice, asking if it was actually in stock & if not could I have a refund. Eventually I received just an automated email showing that the order had been updated to "refunded". Three weeks later I am still waiting for the refund & further emails to them have gone unanswered. I am about to start chargeback proceedings with my bank.
Toxic – don’t go near this company.
As with the previous reviews below, payment was taken. I received an email the next day saying that they had just run out of stock and weren’t expecting new stock soon. I was offered an alternative brand of mower that I’d never heard of.
I’ve tried to contact Avon Garden Machinery to get a refund both by telephone and email without any luck.
I’m now waiting out the 30days until I can raise a dispute with the credit card company to get my money back.
BIG WASTE OF TIME!
