Fleet old and poorly maintained. The first proposed van was full of bumps with a flat tire. When I complained they gave me another one again bumped, but apparently in condition to drive. 15km after we left the agency 2 engine dashboard lights turned into red. Went back to the agency and they gave me a third one, again bumped with missing parts in the car interior. No way to get anything better. Totally disappointing

Highly recommend this rental car company. We had a great experience with them. Ekkert checked us in and out and was extremely organized, professional and nice. Our car was ready for us when we got there and was exactly what we picked out online.

We had rented a dacia duster with roof box from 15 to 25 July, through our travel agency. Had arranged to pick us up from our hotel at Keflavik in order to get the car. Phoned 2-3 times until I managed to get someone to pick us up (they initially told me they do not do that kind of service!). Got there around 8 am , they told us there was no such car available and we should wait. After more than an hour waiting and after my reminder that we should get a proper service, they offered us a "free" upgrade to an old Toyota Land Cruiser 358.848 km. We took the "offer" since it was our only alternative at the moment, but that cost us surely 20% more on diesel fuel.The stuff was polite and apologized for the inconvenience. We finally left with the car past 10 am. When we came back to return the car on July 25, they did a first inspection of the car and told us that we should perform a car wash so as they could do a thorough inspection, even though we had been charged the platinum insurance package, which surely covered every damage of the exterior surface of the car they could not inspect at the time! I pointed that out to them, but their response was that either way they had to make the inspection! So, we had to lose another 30 minutes looking for a car washing in the area. Otherwise, they would charge us an extra 110 euros for the cleaning. Think everything was done for the extra charge. The lady and her supervisor which served us during the return of the car, where indiferrent and gave us less than enough attention.

Dangerous cars putting your life at risk!!!

These are very old cars with extremely high use - over 200,000 km in many cases. These should not be on the road at all. Brakes that don’t work – worn tires that need to be replaced – engines that barely start – check engine service lights on – rusted body damage apparent and who knows what else that cannot be seen.

Do not fall for the low rates -- it is a scam!! You will risk having car stop working in the middle of nowhere... or worse have a flat tire or other mechanical malfunction and crash. The Ring Road and many others do not have safe places to pull off -- the road is built up and drops off steeply to the side. You do not want to have your car die on you in Iceland. Imagine being stuck overnight somewhere in the cold with no shelter other than the car, your car is stuck on the road where it can be hit by other cars, the lights/power have died on your car, and you have no mobile signal. That is the risk you are taking with this shameful company.

Think of the workers as actors -- they seem nice at pickup and in the office. But it is an act so you don't realize until too late that they are giving you a horrible dangerous car that no one would ever rent. If you do end up there and are reading this review while waiting forever (between the pickup, shuttle loading, and further wait at the location), ask to check the kilometers on the odometer and open hood to see engine before you accept the car -- you won't believe how bad. You may be tempted to just go along with it – don’t do it. You’ll end up having to return the car or break down somewhere.

Vi lejede i juli 2021 bil hos ovenstående firma, den var betalt og forsikret.
Alligevel blev vi opkrævet depositum på ISK 243.873.
Bilen blev afleveret uden anmærkninger, men der ville gå 1 uge inden vi fik depositum tilbage. Der gik 1 uge og så kunne der pludselig gå op til 30 dage. Siden da har vi rykket mange mange gange – både for depositum og for svar, men der sker intet – ingen penge og vores mails bliver ikke besvaret.

Vi har ikke fået vores penge – det rene tyveri.

Des voleurs. Réservation reportée en mai 2020 en raison des restrictions sanitaires, 950 euros d'avoir, et depuis impossible de les joindre pour réserver une nouvelle date. Ils ont gardé l'argent et font les morts quand on les sollicite. Impossible de laisser un avis sur leur site, ils ont tout désactivé en raison de la quantité d'avis négatif. Des escrocs. A fuir.

After posting the review below I received an email from the company requesting the review be removed, and then a few days afterwards when I didn't respond, a bogus credit card charge appeared on my statement for over $700 USD which I will be disputing. DO NOT BOOK HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

City Car Rental - also known as Cheap Car Rental, or Nordic Car (they are all run out of the same office) offered the cheapest prices for car rentals that we could find. However, as we soon learned, this came with numerous shortcomings.

- Waited 1 hour at airport for shuttle pickup
- Waited 1.5 hours at the rental car office before receiving car
- Excessive $3,000 USD deposit required
- Reservation was not in the system and received a different car than reserved (but manager did upgrade to a larger sized SUV)
- Car received at 1/4 tank of gas and told to bring the car back at the same level
- Returned car with dirt on it (this is Iceland, after all) and was told that I needed to wash the car myself or face a 100 euro charge, which could have been an issue if we hadn't arrived well in advance of our flight time
- In-person service was cold

Vente forcée, véhicule ridiculement âgé et en mauvais état... Bref je vous explique tout !

Malgré les avis négatifs, j'ai choisi de faire confiance à cette société, notamment par via ses tarifs attractifs. Quelle n'a pas été ma bêtise ...

Tout commence lors de mon arrivée dans leur bureaux pour récupérer le véhicule.. après 2 heures d'attente, on s'occupe enfin de moi !
Ne serait-il pas raisonnable d'augmenter l'effectif de personnel lorsqu'il y a beaucoup de check -in et check-out ??

Deuxième déconvenue: quand je présente ma carte bancaire pour déposer une caution, on me dit qu'il me faut une carte de "CREDIT" et non de "DEBIT".
Sachez que si vous avez une carte de crédit, on vous chargera une caution de 3000€ qui sera bloquée un mois après la remise du véhicule.. on peut donc se servir sur votre compte.
Étant donné que je n'ai pas de carte de Crédit, mais bien de Débit, on me dit qu'il faut que je prenne l'assurance Platinum à 50€ par jour (sinon ce ne serait pas drôle) sans quoi ma location serait annulée.
50€ par jour de plus pour 17 jours de location, ça fait plus de 800€ en plus du prix de location !! J'appelle donc ça de la vente forcée, du vol...

Ensuite, on ne me présente pas un véhicule de 2016 (Dacia Dokker) comme présenté sur l'annonce, mais un vieux van Renault Trafic de 2005 avec énormément de kilomètres au compteur... Imaginez-vous un véhicule qui a 15 ans de location derrière lui.. de surcroît en Islande avec ses Gravel roads..
Usé de toute part en terme de mécanique, ce camper van n'aura eu que des problèmes de bougies de préchauffage, de voyants orange (voir rouge sur la gravel) ou encore de défaillance de turbo. En effet, le turbo ne se déclanchait que vers les 2700 tours.. soit le moment où l'on doit passer le rapport supérieur.. Ainsi, ce van n'avait pas la pêche et beaucoup de problème de reprise.

Ne vous penchez pas non plus sous les véhicules de Wild Campers/ Nordic Cars/ Fair Car, vous risqueriez de prendre peur en voyant l'état et l'omniprésence de rouille..
Clé cassée obligeant à ouvrir manuellement la porte conducteur afin de déverrouiller les autres portes.. Infiltration d'eau lors de forte pluie.. Duvet ridiculement petit.. Pas de poêle ni la présence de la cartouche de gaz que j'avais acheté... Un chauffage webasto qui n'a pas de sonde.. Un véhicule livré sale autant extérieurement qu'intérieurement...

Bref, inutile d'en dire plus, je crois que vous avez compris !! Passez votre chemin et faites confiance à des sociétés sérieuses tels que Kuku Campers, Happy Campers ou Go Campers !

1.5 hours waiting for a shuttle to the agency, when it was supposed to be on airport. 1st car had more rust than paint, lots of body damage, bad gauges. In three days, it overheated and cost me a full day of vacation to get it back to the agency. 2nd car failed after 2 days with bad alternator leaving me stranded for another day in remote Iceland, and costing me nearly $1,000 to get another sent out. 3rd car had not operable gas gauge, idiot lights were always on, and the roof leaked. Amazing that these cars are permitted on the road! I can't begin to relay all of the issues with this agency, but they are not providing cars that will perform to any reasonable standard. Interestingly, there are numerous bad reviews online for this company, so I wonder why Wisecars continues to book with them. I will never use Nordic Car Rental again, and by association, I will never book through Wisecars.

Achtung!!! Die Fahrzeuge hier sind "Seelenverkäufer"!!
Wir haben über CarJet - übrigens auch sehr unseriös!!!- ein Jeep Wrangler gebucht. Die Abholung zur Autoausgabe sollte per Abholung erfolgen, indem uns ein Mitarbeiter am Ausgang erwarten sollte. Es war niemand da und wir mussten erst anrufen, dann machte sich jemand auf den Weg. Wir haben ca. 60 Minuten gewartet bis jemand kam, der aber nicht das angekündigte Schild mit unserem Namen hielt, sondern den wir ansprechen mussten, um dann mit viel Geduld unseren Namen auf seiner Liste zu finden.
Der Transport fand in einem alten Kleinbus stand, der nicht einmal einen Gepäckraum hatte, die Koffer mussten dann, auf wohl auch dadurch, schmutzigen Sitzen verstaut werden. Die Fahrzeit betrug nur ca. 10 Minuten und dann begann die Odyssee!
Der gemietete Jeep Wrangler stand nicht zur Verfügung - auch kein Fahrzeug gleicher Klasse!!
Laut Aussage des Mitarbeiters hätten wir auch nur Anspruch auf einen Duster und Jimny - ganz andere Klasse!! - und es wäre auch derzeit nur ein Duster da!! Trotz langer Diskussion - wir müssten das mit unserem Vertragspartner CarJet klären, da Nordic Car nicht unser Vetragspartner sei, hatten wir schlußendlich , Nachts um 1.30 Uhr, keine Chance und uns wurde ein Duster hingestellt, der bereits 169.000 km gefahren ist, bei dem die Türen nur mit Gewalt zu schliesssen waren, und dessen Gesamtzustand unterirdisch war. Als wir losfahren wollten und das Fahrlicht einschalteten, ging die Amaturenbeleuchtung aus, damit war das fahrzeug nicht nutzbar.
Also nochmals ins Büro und richtig aufgeregt, so dass wir plötzlich einen Suzuki Vitara erhalten haben - war zwar kein Jeep Wrangler, aber mit knapp 60.000 km fahrbar.
CarJet hat sich bisher nicht auf unsere Reklamtion des falsch gelieferten Modells gemeldet, außer mit einer automatisierten Antwort, dass unsere Anfarge eingegangen sei...
Letzendlich haben wir unser Island-Rundreise, über 4500 km, anstatt mit einem Wrangler mit dem kleinen Virtara gemacht - das war schon frustierend!
Der Vitara war dann zum Glück OK.
Bei der Abgabe haben wir dann im hellen sehen können, dass hier uns Unfallfahrzeugen wieder Mietfahrzeuge zusammengestzt wurden. Beim warten auf den Shuttle zum Flughafen konnten wir miterleben, dass diverse Kunden, die gerade angekommen waren auf ihre Autos warten mussten, da sie noch in der Halle in der Aufbereitung waren, es standen also nicht genug Fahrzeuge zur Verfügung!
Ein Paar bekam einen frisch gewaschenen Hyundai Kleinwagen, dessen Beleuchtung nicht OK war, was die Mieter aber nicht gesehen haben, da bei der Übergabe der Wagen aus war. Aber das war wohl nicht das einzige Manko, sie kamen 3 Minuten nach der Abfahrt zurück und meldten, dass die rote Motor-Warnlampe leuchtet.
Unser Gesamteindruck von Nordic Car Rental ist: Hier werden alte und Unfallfahrzeuge ohne technische Überprüfung an die Kunden vergeben!!
Ok der Vitara, den wir anstatt des defekten Dusters bekamen, war dann ok, aber serös ist anders!!
Wir werden nie wieder bei einem Online Vermittler wie CarJet buchen, da man keine Chance mit einer Reklamation ans Ziel zu kommen und das gleiche gilt für Nordic Car Rentals, die Autos des Anbieters sind alte, technisch anfällige und zum Teil vermutlich ehemalige Unfallfahrzeuge.
Wir buchen nur noch bei den seriösen Vermietern, auch wenn es etwas teurer ist. Unser Tipp: Finger weg von Nordic Car Rental!!!

Do not ever rent from these people. They did not pick us up from the airport as they promised, I had to wait for over 2 hours while they ran around like mice back and forth to the counter then to the cars then to the garage then back to the cars then back to the counter. They truly did not know what they were doing. Finally they brought a work van with o windows and beat up for me to accept. I refused and they found a car with 190,000 kilometers, a broken windshield and a broken gas cap including CV joints that rattled and were obviously worn out and were dangerous. The car worked well even with those things wrong with it. Upon my return, I told them about the items that needed to be looked after and they just said that all their cars and vans were pieces of junk. They even admitted it. NEVER rent from that company EVER.
