Visited Nordorthopaedics, purely for consultation, communication was very quick and in depth. My sincere thanks to Justina who helped me with everything leading up to consultation. I travelled to Kaunas which was a breeze. Thank you so much to all the staff that attended to me. No procedure done this time, but Nord Clinic will be first place I will look for, for any future procedures.

I have just returned home to Scotland having had a total hip replacement.
I cannot fault my experience at Nord, total professionalism, excellent care and support from surgeon, anaesthetist, radiologist nurses, massage lady, receptionists, drivers and my wonderful point of contact organiser and information giver Agne’.
I cannot praise the whole team enough for my experience with this 1st class Clinic. I had no worries or concerns while there and none now when at home, the information given and backup available gives me total confidence. Thank you Nord

After a year of thigh pain and no real diagnoses, I went to a private clinic for a consultation, the surgeon told me I needed a total hip replacement which would be 2-3 years NHS or 16K private. Being a stingy Scot, neither option appealed!
A friend of mine had received a new knee in Lithuania 2 years ago and said I should go. She was so right.
From my first contact with Neirnga Trainauskaite of the Nordorthopaedics Clinic the whole thing became easy, she could not have been more helpful answering every question immediately and obtaining from me, my full medical records to insure that the operation would be suitable for me, she was very kind, patient and knowledgable. With her help the whole thing was set up in about 10 days and I flew to Kaunas Airport on March 30th. met my surgeon Prof: Sarunas Tarasevicius
(who is very well known and highly respected) and filled me with confidence, and had my op. on April 1st.
On coming round the nursing staff were excellent and very kind. and 1 1/2 days later it was down to Prof: Laimonas Siupsinskas for Physio. A lovely, kind and fun man who we had for the next 7 mornings. Then it was home, the Nord Logistics team who picked me up from the airport and took us each day for physio took me back to the Airport. The whole operation was smooth, and effortless and 2 weeks after the op I am walking a mile or two a day and doing my exercises., it is a lovely clean city to live in for 2 weeks with a beautiful tree lined main street with cafes and restaurants spilling out onto the street. I couldn't have made a better decision and if this review encourages anyone else to go to Nord then I am delighted, you won't regret it,

I had to make a difficult decision to travel abroad for surgery. I choose Nord after speaking with a friend who had 2 x total knee replacements done at the clinic in Kaunas Lithuania. From my first contact on 31/1/25 with Neringa to my last day of physio on 4/4/25 my journey was run like clockwork. I had total knee replacement surgery on 27/3/25 and already I am able to walk without crutches. The Surgeon, nurses, physios , drivers and administration staff were a pleasure to work with. Nothing was ever to much trouble. My journey was seamless in every way. I can only HIGHLY RECOMMEND this clinic. Of course a special word of thanks to Neringa my customer service agent who made it all very easy. I would have no hesitation in using Nord again. Thank you all so much for giving me my life back.

I had THR in December past and I’m totally pain free and back to living my best life. The team at Nordorthopaedics is first class all the way from the lovely customer reps who help us book everything, the fabulous drivers who took us to the clinic every day, the amazing nursing staff and the fantastic surgeon Professor Tarasevicius and of course Professor Laimonas who through his wonderful physiotherapy has us walking about the gym with no crutches and cycling before we leave!! I needed both hips replaced as soon as possible due to osteoathritis but was informed the waiting list was at least 3 years in my area of UK. Private surgery in UK was very expensive too. I looked online at overseas options, my criteria being cost, surgery, availability, customer service and customer experiences. I’m came across Nordorthopaedics who seemed to quickly tick all the boxes. I joined their facebook customer / patient group which was extremely informative and helpful. I then contacted Nord Customer Service who were very helpful and within a week or two my surgery was booked in for approx a months time ( my choice due to work commitments,I could have have gone nearly 3 weeks earlier ). Operation was successful. Recovery going fantastic so far, driving no issues after 6 days, back to work 9 days ( not manual work ). Everything was smooth and done with professionalism from the Surgeon and clinic teams to the transport logistics team. I’m in the process of booking my 2nd hip operation for end of June 😊.

From the moment I made my initial enquiry, the experience has been absolutely outstanding with the amazing team at Nord! Just three weeks after my total hip replacement, I'm thrilled to say I'm striding through 5,000 steps a day! What an incredible journey!

After waiting 4 years for the Welsh NHS to carry out my knee replacement surgery I was told about Nordapaedics by a few people who had been there. I went to a seminar in Cardiff and they answered every question about hip and knee surgery. I then decided to go there and they have it down to a fine art, from being picked up at airport to physio after the operation. Staff and facilities amazing and full of British people who had given up on the NHS. How are the waiting lists so long in the UK when places like Nordapeadics are undertaking hundreds if not thousands of operations. Price half of what you would pay in the UK and that includes state of the art knee replacement which cost me 800 euros more. I went on my own but my friend arrived after being discharged which helped me get dressed and see a bit of Kaunas in a wheelchair provided by the hotel. Nord provided crutches which are yours to keep. Stayed at Radisson which was great with a fantastic breakfast and close to restaurants on main street. Big decision to make given all the horror stories, but Lithuania is way ahead of the UK in this type of surgery. Flew from Bristol and stayed 10 days.

After being told that I would 5 years waiting on a TKR on the NHS, I started to look at private clinic options. I heard about Nord Clinic on the BBC news when another patient recommended it. I contacted the clinic and was very impressed with their
swift response and professionalism. They held an information meeting in a local hotel close to where I live in which I attended and found it very informative. From here I decided that Nord Clinic was the best option to choose. I found that the post operative physio sessions has greatly aided my recovery. I am now 2 weeks post op and manoeuvring around home without the aid of crutches. If you are second thoughts, don't, it was the best decision ever!

I had my knee op in January 2025
Can’t say anything negative about the over all experience
The first few days I had a bit of pain
Nothing that meds didn’t solve
I had 15 days of physio at Nord which I would recommend
After the first week I had no pain
Recovery is going well physio every day

Everyone taught I was mad to go to Lithuania for surgery But I have no regrets
Will probably return to do the other knee

I guess if your reading this you are thinking about going to Lithuania
My advice is just do it you will get your life back

Apart from my flight delays, which was nothing to do with the clinic. In fact they responded magnificently to my change in arrival time, everything went well.
Collected at Vilnius airport and transported by car to Kaunus. Same day evaluation assessment. Ched in the next day, blood test x-ray and ecg..Interview with surgeon. Nest day surgery.
Woke up back in my room Food excellent.
Checked out after second night. Hotel in Kaunus Then 5 days physio. Back and forth by Nord transport. Walking around town on crutches in the evenings.
Flew home to Portugal on day six. carried on exercises And now after 8 weeks I would say I am 85% recovered from the surgery. Previous pain gone. I am expecting to be 100% recovered in the next few weeks
I am walking dogs daily on beach and cliffs..I ride my mountain bike daily. BTW I'm 74 this month
Nothing negative to say about Nord Clinic
But I was especially pleased with the Tiramisu 😁

I have just arrived home after 10 days in Kaunas where I had an MRI followed by right shoulder surgery. From the minute I arrived to the minute I left I felt I was being looked after.
The logistics team that transport you from the airport to your accommodation to the clinic and back are first class. You are contacted with timings for pick ups etc and everything goes to plan.
The clinic itself is extremely clean & efficient. The staff and nursing individuals highly professional.
My surgeon explained everything to me both pre and post operation. Again first class.
Cannot recommend this company highly enough and will be ensuring friends and family know what a great service they provide.

I would say Physio is necessary. They seem very professional.

Had bad nausea 2 nd day felt sick . But other than that , it's a journey. Has it challenges.

Operation in 2023.

My name is Michael Bryan from Calgary, Alberta Canada. I was referred to the Alberta Hip and Knee Clinic after having X-rays of my hips. Both hips needed replacing, but my left hip was bone on bone. I was informed that the wait time for the procedure would be 3-4 years. At this stage, I was already compensating in the way I was walking which was putting undo pressure on my knees, so waiting 3-4 years was out of the question. My quality of life was greatly impacted, as I am a golfer and hiker so other options had to be considered. In Alberta, you either wait on the list, or opt to pay for the surgery out of province.

My wife, Barbara, took to the task of finding the right place for me to have the surgery, After spending countless hours on internet research and reading reviews, the decision to choose Nord Clinic was 50% cost and 50% a leap of faith because of the reviews.
I contacted the clinic and booked my surgery for March 10, 2025.

I knew I was in good hands from my initial inquiry with the Nord logistics team, to the surgery itself and to the physio after care. The whole experience was seamless. My wife and I were picked up at the airport in Vilnius and driven to Nord Clinic in Kaunas and from then on, all the transportation to and from the Clinic was provided by an awesome team of drivers. I had pre-op testing that included a consultation with my Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Tarasevicius as well as the Anesthesiologist. Everything was explained clearly and at each step, I felt more confident in my decision to choose this top notch Clinic!

After surgery, Dr. Tarasevicius spent time discussing the operation and the post-op nurses were first class. I opted for 7 day Physiotherapy Session led by Laimonas Siupsinskas which was excellent and gave me everything I needed to steer me on the right path to a full recovery.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the whole team at Nordorthopaedic Clinic. I am 2 weeks post surgery and walking unaided. I am so pleased and would recommend the Clinic to anyone who needs hip replacement. Throughout the whole process, you will be treated with kindness and top notch care.

Absolutely amazing, First class treatment. I would 100% recommend this to anyone seeking surgery abroad. The care is supreme, from start to finish, the whole experience has been brilliant.

From initial contact, to arranging the surgery, making bookings, the whole process was world class in every way. Not just the efficiency, but the staff, Dr, and everyone I dealt with.

We all know how important it is to minimise atrophy when you finally get to a bone on bone situation with your joints. Time wasting could be devastating in fitness health and mental health.
Knowing that I wouldn’t be looked after by home services (NHS) I started to look around , google etc , i have international connections, and have worked over seas , I’m an Osteopath , cyclist, poor surfer and dad with dogs, activity is everything to me.
So through word of mouth and google I arrived at Nord clinic.
From start to finish a clean organised easy to follow system. Great chances to build friendship's with fellow patients and a lovely team of very fluent clinicians to guide you through the surgery,
Now no surgery is pain free and knees defiantly not , but within 2 weeks yours doing great and within 6 almost fully able. Then it’s a matter of rebuilding yourself to your own levels.
I returned recently for my second knee, Nord are great , hotel is a choice thing and if I had 3 knees I would try Nords own accommodation next time , look it up !
Thank you Nord , I’m home safely after a good flight , there’s more leg room in a normal seat on Wizz air by the way. Im now using all the advice from the awesome physio’s at Nord.

Where to start...
I have just come back from Nordorthopaedics, I had shoulder surgery with them( after waiting 13 yrs with the NHS)
I have never been somewhere as professional as Nordorthopaedics, from the second I landed in Lithuania they were there.
I was treated so professionally but also freindly, I can honestly not fault a single thing with them, from the first email I sent, right the way up to me writing this review.
I would advise anyone thinking about sending the first email to them, to do it. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Thank you so much to the surgical team and the nurses, you were all amazing.

I have returned home a few days ago from having hip replacement surgery performed by Dr S.Tarasavecius. my whole experience from start to finish was outstanding. From the girls that I dealt with on enquiring in admin. Neringa and Agne, who were outstanding and so very very kind, informative and helpful. Continually communicating and never leaving you hanging on waiting. I don't know how tjey manage it, but they do a superb job. And this was the catalyst as well as other reviews, for me choosing nordorthopaedics in lithuania. Tje nurses were fab, and clinic immaculate. Food amazing. And care better than any I've had. The physio after op with Prof. Laimonas siupsinskas was absolutely fantastic. It made my days every day after op. He and the team were just perfect. I had one overall 100% amazing experience and it's for this reason that I cannot recommend the professionalism and capabilities of all nord staff/ clinic right down to domestic staff. I'd recommend to anyone. Thanks Nord for my life changing experience. I also had a great time in tje country and would return even for a holiday and absolutely for any future procedures. This was my second visit to Nord. My first was for a PKR 3 months ago and this time for a THR. Obviously I felt as though I had totally recovered from the knee operation 2 months afterwards, a little stiffness in the mornings but full motion and movement and no pain. The first week after a hip operation is to just get through but as I’d had a THR 3 years ago in England I found the discomfort following the Nord operation was soooo much easier. I made full use on the on-site physio both times. This was critical to my knee replacement recovery and no doubt the hard work for the hip will reap similar benefits.
