Delivery and missing items.

I’ve ordered from old hall farm in the past and this is my second order I think the farm is a really good regenerative farm with 100% pastured cows and etc which it claims to be which is hence why I ordered however on my 2nd order the shipping times were ridiculous they did not even send any emails to apologise for the delays and I had to even contact them by phone and the woman told me it would come a week before but it came almost 2 weeks later my first order was within days.

When I got a delivery notification that the order was coming I requested that it was sent to the depot and then returned as the delivery took too long however apparently since I did not let old hall farm know before dispatch even though they said they sent an email but I did not see one they didn’t want to take the order back since it was fully delivered to me they can’t accept returns which is fair as the goods is perishable however what is not fair

Is I ordered 2l of milk but only 1l came 4 eggs were also cracked when I opened the box so I’ve lost 4 eggs they may have not been cracked at old hall farm but when I received my delivery they’re cracked besides all this I do think the company is good they’re products is nice and I would
Order again in future but customer service needs to be better and they’re delivery times.

Worst Customer Service I Have Had Ever.

Shocking customer service from Old Hall Farm. Not the first time either. Have been a loyal customer for a long time ordering large amounts of milk regularly.

Recently ordered 18L of raw milk. It took over 3 days to arrive in a heatwave, unrefrigerated. The box was damaged, 1 bottle smashed, 2 missing, and the rest completely spoiled. I sent photos and videos immediately.

What’s worse? Zero response. I sent 7 emails and called multiple times—completely ignored. In fact they just kept putting the phone down and didn’t even answer.

Old Hall Farm has refused to take any responsibility. They just don’t respond to any emails nor do they take calls. I had to throw everything away and reorder from elsewhere last-minute just to ensure my family had milk.

Product is good I’ll give them that and they not cheap by anyones measure but they have no idea how to run a business or what customer care or service means. You would think they would look after their loyal customers, they don’t. They obviously think they’re so popular that individual customers don’t matter. Avoid them because if anything goes wrong - alls you will hear is crickets.

Utterly disgraceful service. No refund, no reply, no accountability. I’ve raised a chargeback and I am considering reporting them to Trading Standards.

Good cheese, poor quality chicken

I was pleased with the selection of cheeses, particularly the availability of A2 cheese, which was a great find. The butter was also very flavorful and of good quality. However, I did receive cheese in May with a "best before" date of April 2025, which raises some concerns about product freshness and stock rotation.

Unfortunately, the chicken was extremely disappointing. I would strongly advise against purchasing it. The chicken wings arrived with multiple bruises, crushed bones, and emitted a very unpleasant odor. The taste was similarly poor, resembling very low-quality meat. As someone who consistently purchases pasture-raised or organic chicken, this product fell far below those standards and did not reflect the quality advertised.

We were invited today to join some…

We were invited today to join some friends for afternoon tea at the farm cafe.
What a treat! The food was absolutely amazing. I could not fault it. None of us had been to the cafe before and we all felt that the afternoon tea offering was really something special. Without exception every item on the afternoon tea was delicious.
The service was extremely good. The lady, who I think was the owner check more than once if all was ok and if we wanted more tea.
Brilliant food brilliant service. We most certainly will return again.

Me & 2 of my friends went to larchwood…

Me & 2 of my friends went to larchwood kidderminster turkey and tinsel meal yesterday 12/12/24 it was FABULOUS loved it so did my friends staff was amazing food amazing the guy who did the entertainment of singing Christmas songs/carols fabulous i was telling my other friends & have booked round 2 with them for nxt Thursday 19/12/24 can't wait

Received my first ordered today

Received my first ordered today . Came beautifully boxed not leaks or damage . Ice was still cold but not frozen meat was cold . All looks very nice and healthy gave my pork joint to a family member for a Sunday roast to big for two us cannot wait to try the belly pork looks amazing definitely ordering again .

Disappointing Customer Service - Refusal to Replace Damaged Goods

I truly want to support local farmers, especially when they provide high-quality products, but I have to speak up when businesses fail to take responsibility for their actions. I have ordered from Old Farm twice now, and both times I received broken and damaged products. Despite reaching out and citing the Consumer Rights Act 2015—which clearly states that consumers are entitled to receive goods that are fit for purpose—the farm refused to offer a refund or replacement. Instead, they merely pointed to a policy on their website that says they won’t take responsibility for goods damaged in transit.

While I understand the risks involved with certain products, businesses still have a duty to ensure items arrive in acceptable condition. Refusing to rectify issues directly violates consumer protection laws, and I find it incredibly disappointing that they wouldn’t stand behind their products.

Unfortunately, I will no longer be ordering from Old Farm and would advise others to proceed with caution if they expect quality and accountability. Supporting local is important, but so is holding businesses to fair standards of service.

Absolute disgrace terrible customer…

Absolute disgrace terrible customer service bought a lot of mince and the lady’s attitude was shocking the mince is supposed to be around 10 percent fat yet it is in fact around 30-40 percent and is a fat mess her response was cook it off although it was not what I paid for No proper refund spent 120 on mince and offered a 12.50 refund what a joke of a woman go elsewhere pipers farm are ten times better

Read her reply below people this woman’s arrogance is beyond belief I rang was nice polite got offered £12.50 what a joke £12.50 total insult I spent £120 on mince supposedly around 10% fat but it was around 30-40% it was a fat mess showed all the images to her even a comparison image of other meat that was ten percent hers was off the scale her response I’m not refunding you people pay more for fatty cuts but I paid for ten percent ????, then took 3 days to get another £30 when all I wanted was a full refund as I couldn’t eat that mess she sent me !! I’ve dealt with pipers Ruxtons and they all no how to deal with there customers this woman sold me something I never paid for FACT then refused to refund me that’s not how you run a business stay away people there are way better farm shops online I have her phone call and emails all proof of how she dealt with me in the wrong way so take the warning people
I’ve ended up paying around £90 for a small block of cheese 4 steak burgers and 3 sausages and had to bin 12 kilos of fat with a bit of mince in it such a nice lady
I got ripped off basically paid for around 10% fat mince got around 30-40% fat content how is that right

Mr Pape has obviously forgotten to mention the other £30 that was refunded which is rather a shame. The shipping £12.50 was refunded, then after I asked for Mr Pape’s bank details, a further £30 was refunded. This equates to a 25% discount for the additional fat. Had Mr Pape dealt with us in a different way, the refund may have differed.

Outstanding customer service!

I went out to pick up some furniture and buy a chicken on Saturday and something went wrong in my back while loading the furniture into the car. I managed to get into my car in a great deal of pain and drove home using 1st, 3rd and 5th gears (too painful pulling back on the stick!). Since my wife is expecting a baby this month and was very keen to have her organic free range chicken roasted and on the table for lunch and the leftovers and stock processed for the freezer for easy food when baba arrives I just had to get that chook. Now Old Hall Farm has been our go-to place for organic happy chickens forever. We don't eat much meat as a family (I've been veggie since I was 8) so when we do we insist on the highest quality and welfare and we know we'll get this at OHF. Now, having known these guys for years, I know that Rebecca and Stuart are always keen to help someone in need so I asked Siri to dial OHF as I slowly made my way home via Woodton. The farm was clearly very busy as no one could answer and after a few rings I was diverted to Rebecca who was driving home from a farming conference (these guys are a shining light of regenerative agricultural hope in an otherwise destructive, desertified unsustainable farming landscape) who was more than happy to direct-dial someone at the farm to come out to my car. I arrived to a busy farm-shop and restaurant and despite the busy vibe a very cheerful and polite young man came out to my car and took my order. He returned a few minutes later with a whole organic chicken and a chick'n pin terminal to take my payment. Wifey got her chicken (she and our daughter yummed it). I eventually managed to get out of the car. I got a doctor's appointment in Hempnall the next day and although off work with a pretty intense prescription of serious pain medication and muscle relaxants I am well on my way to recovery and have the unusual amount of spare time that I can write a review and say thank you! If you've not been to OHF before it's brilliant and the kids love to see the animals. Everything is top notch, the service is beyond compare and any pounds you spend help to nice up the environment on your own doorstep! What's not to love?

The "Raw Butter" is 80% PASTEURIZED!

They pretend the butter is raw but they actually buy bulk pasteurised cream to make it, it's only 20% raw, they lie to their customers seeking honest products to make a few extra quid. Appalling ethos, greedy owners and swindling locals for monetary gains all under the guise of "ethical natural foods" - which you don't get.

Only just seen this - whoops! Utter drivel and I doubt that Shaun has ever been to our farm - he certainly hasn’t been inside our processing room to see how we make our butter.

Amazing farm shop and cafe

Amazing farm shop and cafe - it's amazing how well the team cope during an extremely busy half term, and extraordinarily badly behaved customers too.

The other person who has left a review (KB) has omitted a few details from her review:

1. Yes, her table (number 15) had very unfortunately been allocated elsewhere.
2. No less than 2 members of the team including the owner, apologised. Profusely.
3. 3 alternative tables were offered (2 of which were inside - numbers 10 and 5) AND a discount of 25% if Karen (aptly named) wished to dine on the day.
4. Karen was also offered the chance to come back another time with the same discount if she preferred.
5. Customer service was excellent up to the point at which Karen became completely unreasonable, at which point Karen was told that as sorry as the restaurant was that the table had been given away, the only options were to accept another table (remember, there were 3 others available), or return another time. Karen sadly made such a fuss to the extent that the owner had to advise Karen that a mistake regarding a table (we are, after all, all human), is not the actual end of the world, unlike a cancer diagnosis.
5. Karen was not "told" to wait half an hour - the option was presented if Karen did not wish to accept any other perfectly lovely table. Karen chose to storm off in a huff.
6. I feel exceptionally sorry for the young child that Karen had with her - I assume, her grandson. Not only did he witness his grandmother having a toddler tantrum, but he also witnessed the man I assume was his grandfather, having a strop as well, being very rude, and leaving. Not a great example to set to an impressionable young man.
7. The restaurant was EXTREMELY busy, but perfectly within control, thank you. To an untrained eye it may have looked chaotic, but for those of us who know what we're doing, it was just fine, thanks very much.
8. It's HALF TERM. Anyone who expects a good restaurant not to be busy at this time is delusional.
9. We have had a lot of LOVELY feedback today, from genuine customers who have their brains and their hearts in the right place.
10. Karen, whether or not you decide to come back again is entirely up to you, but don't ever treat my team like you treated me today - your behaviour was utterly unacceptable.

27/10 (following Karen's amendments to her review)

For clarity, the tables that Karen was offered were No 5 by the window (where she sat at the weekend prior) and No 7 by the cafe servery. Table 1 wasn't free and was not offered, which is the one closest to the bathroom. A lovely table outside UNDER COVER, was also offered. (Pls note, the 25% discount was offered on all food and drink by way of apology and offered for another day.)

The gentleman with you was incredibly angry and rude, and yes I did invite you to bring him back in so he could tear a strip off me if it made him feel better.

A further note - the opportunity for Karen to wait half an hour then come back with a discount of 25% wasn't the only thing offered - we are pumpkin picking at the moment, and the chance to take the young boy with them to pick a pumpkin for free was offered, which would have been a fun for him whilst Karen's favourite table became free. Instead, he was frog marched out of our premises, and I feel very sorry for him.

It very much felt like Karen wished me to removed the people from "her" table, but as they had already started eating it would have been impossible.

Karen, if you wish to continue this discussion, do feel free to give me a call.

For anyone else reading, we really are a rather lovely shop and restaurant, but I will always stand up for my team when someone is unreasonable.

Yes, we made a mistake but we apologised and could not have done any more for you. We were exceptionally polite up until the moment in time that it all became a bit ridiculous and over the top.

At the end of the day, this ridiculous argument is over the misallocation of a table, and is not the end of the world. I am sorry that you feel that it is, and that is a tragedy in itself.

Dear Karen

I'm sorry you feel that this is a personal attack - it isn't - I'm RESPONDING to you.

My team have had to deal with theft, destruction of property, rudeness from customers (I'm not talking about you), children running riot, and all manner of other things this week.

I tried very hard to apologise and make it up to you yesterday, and it felt like you threw everything back in my face, and you did (whether you meant to or not) upset the member of staff that you spoke to before me.

I do not wish to upset anyone, however, as I said before, I will stick up for my team. Always.

No one gave "your" table away on purpose, and you wouldn't let any of us apologise.

You're welcome to pop in to discuss this any time - I'm actually a very nice person, but I'm sure you won't believe me.
