A timeless stunning piece that's now a highlight of my wardrobe

I absolutely adore my dress from OliveandOath! Not only are the colours vibrant, the fabric amazing quality and the cut outrageously flattering, they are also a small business with great ethical values. I have recommended this brand to all my friends as their dresses work across a range of events. I'm wearing on my friend's wedding soon and can't wait! Great experience all round with them❤️

Products are beautiful and very high…

Products are beautiful and very high quality- I’ve ordered three items so far and have all been delivered in great condition and comes within very reasonable time frame for a small business! I had a question about sizing and they were extremely helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for high quality pieces!!

Do not honour their returns policy

I would not recommend ordering from this company.
Their customer service is abysmal and their returns policy is deceitful. I ordered a dress from them and felt confident in doing so because their returns policy explicitly stated it could be returned if unsuitable. I purchased the dress with the WELCOME 10 code, which their returns policy clearly states is eligible for a return and a cash refund.
They now refuse to refund me because the dress was purchased with a discount, in direct contradiction to their policy, and it has been virtually impossible to get any reply from them.
I’m looking into consumer protection recourse.
I would not purchase from them ever again.

Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify several points so that the information presented here is accurate for readers.

Your dress was purchased during our Moving Sale with a 20% discount, and an additional WELCOME10 code was applied at checkout. This resulted in a total discount exceeding 15%.

As clearly stated in our publicly available Returns & Refunds Policy, orders discounted beyond 15% are eligible for store credit only, not a cash refund. In accordance with this policy, your return was processed as an exchange to store credit, which is the correct and consistent resolution.

The statement that our policy allows a full refund in this scenario is incorrect. While the WELCOME10 code on its own is eligible for refunds, this does not apply when combined with additional sale discounts, as outlined in the policy.

As a small, independent business, we cannot absorb the combined costs of significant discounts, outbound shipping, return shipping, return processing, and full cash refunds on heavily discounted sale items. This policy exists to ensure fairness and sustainability and is applied consistently across all orders.

We acknowledge that return outcomes can be disappointing. However, we respectfully disagree with the claims made here and confirm that your return was handled in line with our stated policy.

Be cautious: long delays and no email support

I wanted to share my experience so other customers can make an informed decision.

I placed an order on 18 December for a high-value dress from a relatively new brand. For 22 days, there was no shipping confirmation and no communication regarding delays. I checked both my primary and junk/spam folders thoroughly — there were no emails advising of holiday delays or extended fulfilment timelines.

During this period, I attempted to contact customer care six times via their official email address. Every email was met with an automatic bounce-back, meaning my messages were never delivered. With no functioning email support and no proactive communication, I eventually reached out via social media as a last resort. They ended up blocking me after I shared my experience on one of their posts.

Only after this did I receive the first confirmation that my order had shipped arrived 22 days later, after I escalated.

The returns process is also unclear and misleading. The online returns portal explicitly presents store credit as the only option, with no visible indication that a refund to the original payment method may be available. Customers should not be expected to infer or “discover” refund eligibility that contradicts what the system clearly displays.

I understand this is a small business, but that does not excuse a lack of basic customer service, clear communication, or functional systems — especially when charging premium prices. Buying from a new brand is already a risk; when there are few reviews or testimonials, attentiveness and transparency matter even more.

I hope this feedback helps others decide whether they’re comfortable taking that risk.

Please don’t make the same mistake I did, customer service is absolutely abysmal.

We’re disappointed by this review and feel it’s important to clarify a few points for accuracy.

This order was placed as a pre-order item, which was clearly disclosed at the time of purchase with extended fulfilment timelines due to production and the Christmas - New Year holiday period. As outlined in our policies, we’re unable to offer cancellations once an order is placed, as we work with an external fulfilment partner and stock is allocated immediately. For this reason, the cancellation request fell outside our policy.

During December, we experienced a temporary platform issue where some outgoing email responses showed as bounce-backs, despite messages still being received by our team. This issue was identified and resolved as quickly as possible.

While we were actively working to resolve the matter, negative commentary was posted across multiple public platforms. This included claims about the quality of our garments before the item had been received, as well as statements suggesting a refund was not offered - both of which are not accurate.

We absolutely welcome fair and honest feedback. However, we won’t engage with commentary that misrepresents events or shares information that could mislead other customers or unfairly impact our team and business.

We’re a small, women-led brand navigating one of the busiest times of year, and we take pride in acting transparently and in good faith. In this case, we stand by our policies, our product quality, and the way this situation was handled.
