Recent subscription buyer, had a very small issue in a duplicate of previous subscription coffee being sent. Origin got back to me within the day, offered multiple resolutions above and beyond my expectations. Will be a subscriber for a long time!

I've tried to give Origin a good try. I had a subscription to 2 x Rotating Espresso Coffee Subscription and 2 x Feature Coffee Subscription and 1 x Decaf Coffee Subscription for two months. So I tried 4 of their non-decaf beans and their decaf. For the non-decaf in particularly they all lacked body and flavour. I came to the conclusion that something just isn't right. The theory that I have (I could be wrong) is that the beans are either stale (which is contradictory to the roast date on the packet) or the packaging somehow lets in oxygen when it's sealed and hasn't yet been opened. It could be something else but they tasted stale.

My set up is the Sage Bambino Plus and Timemore Sculptor 64s grinder and I brew flat whites. During the course of the three months (I skipped a month over Christmas to try other roasters) I upgraded my set up with a spring loaded tamper, a puck screen, a bottomless portafilter and an IMS basket so I wondered whether that made a difference. So I waited to write this review until I'd tried a different roaster with the new set up. I can categorically say that Origin beans have less body and flavour due to tasting less fresh than all other roasters that I've tried since moving back to the UK in 2022. Some of the other roasters that I've used are: Bailies, Lucid, Union, Pact, All Press, Square Mile, Bell Lane (Ireland), Coffee-Direct, Grind, Blue Coffee Box, and Modern Standard.

I don't know what to say because I gave them a fair chance over a period of time and across a variety of beans. It's not a roaster I will try again soon.

Wow, do they know what they are doing. So many examples: objectively the best quality coffees I have ever tasted, given their use at world championships, and coming from the most famous farms, and chosen by a cup tasting world champion head of coffee; omni-roast actually works for all brew methods; espresso blend actually works for espresso; some top-notch baristas too, also competitors and winners at the highest levels. Who else has all that in the UK?

Ordered 3 different blends- all delicious but Stronghold is my fave so have now set up a subscription!

Ordered a lovely coffee machine and experienced a first class service from Origin and got some free coffee beans also 3 months worth with the deal.
Sarah in customer service at Origin was very helpful and polite would use again with confidence.
99% of people that have a positive experience with company's don't tend leave feedback so leaves the 1% to take 5 mins to say thanks 👍

Rude staff, awful customer service. Bitter roast.
I’ve been a subscriber for a few months and the last two batches have been awful, so bitter and just tastes disgusting.
Sent in couple of queries - no response. Went to the Southwark store and was faced with some annoying rude staff who was being Mr Know it all. Didn’t bother hearing me out and just kept giving the talk of he’s the barrister and I’m just a rando.

Never ordering here again.

Went there for a coffee workshop in London. It was informative. The tutor shared with us some knowledge about coffee on a PPT. Then we started to do some hands on latte things. Each of us made about 5 to 6 times. At the end, we were gifted one bag of coffee to bring home. Nice Expereince in general. The only thing I think they could improve is better not let the staff keep mention to their customers that this is her last day within this company before she joins another coffee company….

We were loyal and largely satisfied customers of Origin Coffee for four years since we placed our first order on 23 April 2019. We spent £2,652.11 with them in that time and approximately £800 per annum since 2021.

Due to persistent recent issues with orders and resolution to them, including indifference to issues by people I speak to on the telephone and excuses like “we were struggling after the bank holiday”, we will be buying our artisan coffee from a more local supplier (Artisan Roasters in Edinburgh) for the foreseeable future.

Excellent customer service. I contacted origin when my sage barista express wasn't grinding my coffee beans. I didn't buy the machine from origin,I just wanted to be armed with information about the beans being used. They offered support and advice. Really impressed and will most definitely carry on purchasing from a great company!

I recently purchased an espresso puck leveller from Origin and was very happy with the quick delivery of this item. I then signed up for a coffee subscription, and was very impressed with the quality of the packaging (including a fancy card with details of the producer and tasting notes etc), though I haven’t yet tried the beans. Finally, I put in an order for barista equipment which I subsequently decided to cancel. Origin’s customer service were very quick processing the cancel and the refund, no fuss, no questions asked. Solid customer service, would definitely order again.

Awful experience ordered cofffee never delivered, rude customer care, particularly the operation manager i spoke who swore about me as he put the phone down very unprofessional. Still waiting for a refund!

Promised next day or same day delivery, several days have passed with no coffee

I started a bi-weekly random-coffee subscription service with Origin and the first coffee I received was the Chelbesa, a super sweet, bright and fruity coffee that impressed me from the first cup, although it will require a few attempts to get the ratio perfect.

I am ordering coffee from them for more than a year now. Communication is always good and timely, I know what to expect and when to expect it. The quality of the beans is also to my liking.
Can only recommend them.

The San Fermin is a good coffee but the espresso grind is too fine for coffee machines which is a shame.
Customer service is a lot to desired for.
Raised this with the customer service but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Best speciality coffee roaster in the UK.
They only have a small number of coffees on, but they are always exceptional!
