Instead of shrinkflation pedigree chum have for some time being adding more and more jelly to their cans of dog food,

Got to find another brand as both my dogs don't like fish and as charged the jelly flavours. My dogs won't eat the gravy one so your food is no good to me now

This is the second time we’ve had Pedigree treats completely infested with grain mites—either Schmackos or Rodeo. The first time, we had no idea what we were dealing with until it was too late, and we spent days deep-cleaning our entire kitchen, throwing away so many infested items. They even got into the seals of the fridge! Vinegar, bleach, steam, bug spray/pesticide. Even after that, we had to regularly vacuum the infected area for weeks just to make sure the infestation was gone completely, and move absolutely all food they could feed on away to starve the rest.

After that nightmare, we became very aware of the signs to look out for. Today, we found an unopened package of Schmackos absolutely covered in grain mite dust. Straight to the bin.

This is a major quality control concern. Absolutely avoid or be VERY careful how you store treats and systematically check for signs of grain mites. Absolutely unacceptable!

3 months ago my dog started shaking his head and chewing his paws and ended up with red sores in between his pads,swollen eyes and inflamed ears and he could barely walk. We went to the vets and were given anti allergy tablets and we bathed his feet 3 times a day with many different products....
We had no idea what it was as nothing in his diet etc. Had changed....
Roll on 4 weeks later and we noticed dust all over our fridge freezer that was moving.
On top of our fridge freezer was our pedigree dog treats (dentastix,schmackos & jumbones)
The schmackos box had burst open and the packets inside had also opened and what was inside had infested our kitchen...grain mites!!!
We had to throw all the food in our kitchen out that could be contaminated and we have spent the last month steaming and bleaching the kitchen trying to get rid of the grain mite infestation.
Even our bins outside were covered where they managed to escape our sealed bags of contaminated matter.
We had to use pest killer on them.
Funnily enough we still have a box of schmackos in the garage which we missed when we had to clear the kitchen out...it is still sealed and has a small window where you can see the
Mites walking around inside.
We have now realised that as soon as we stopped giving the dog the pedigree sticks which contained the mites his allergies have cleared up and he is a happy dog again.
I have been contacting pedigree for months with pictures and asked them if they wanted the box of sealed grain mite treats for testing and they haven't even had the decency to reply.
This problem has so far cost us around £800 in total for vets bills,spoiled food, cleaning and pest chemicals and 4 weeks later our fridge still has them...they are probably living in the parts we cannot see.

Schmaccos contaminated with Grain mites - which even though kept in an airtight container, they have managed to contaminate everything. Trying to eradicate them is proving impossible. Pedigrees response has been poor, and by poor i mean non existent. Trading standards have been notified as the quality etc is just shocking!

Har prøvet at bruge Dentastix til min hund og den elsker den, men som snack. De er væk på 5 sekunder og det er kun en cocker. Det som reklamefilmene viser at hunden kan ligge og "hygge"tygge men Dentastixen maserer og renser tænder og gummer, det passer ikke. Den bides over og så er den væk
