I struggled so to find a roof maintenance company that met my budget, kept promises and / or was available / reliable / professional. And then ProCompare provided relief. It was good to be able to see real current reviews before deciding on a company. (Pro-Lec electrical and construction)
A good service by ProCompare!

I received several quotes through ProCompare and ultimately chose one of the contractors referred to me through the platform.

I paid approximately R59,500, but received only around R8,000 worth of work. The contractor repeatedly promised that materials and workers would arrive, but kept delaying and ultimately failed to complete the work.

I contacted ProCompare on 29 July 2026 and reported the problem. ProCompare provided me with the contractor information they had on file, including a business name, address, phone number and email address.

I subsequently discovered that the address appeared to be incorrect and that the contractor appeared to be using the registration details of another company. I informed ProCompare about this. ProCompare also confirmed that they did not have an ID for the contractor, only a company registration number.

This raises serious concerns for me about the level of verification performed on contractors before they are referred to customers.

I understand that no platform can guarantee the behaviour of every contractor. However, I would expect a service that connects customers with contractors to perform reasonable checks on their identity and business details.

In my case, this resulted in a financial loss of approximately R51,500 for work not received, as well as considerable time and stress dealing with the situation.

I would strongly recommend that ProCompare review its contractor verification process and clearly explain to customers what checks are performed before contractors are referred.

My company is doing well because of Procompare, very helpful and provide great services that is helping me getting clients

As a service provider, finding consistent clients can be a massive challenge. Procompare offers a streamlined solution by sending local, verified project requests straight to your phone. The platform is intuitive, and they do an excellent job of limiting competition by sharing each lead with a maximum of five professionals. However, lead generation platforms inherently come with an unpredictable variable: human behavior. Ultimately, Procompare can only be as good as the individuals who post the ads. There are always going to be prospective clients who submit a request out of curiosity, change their minds, or simply refuse to answer their phones when you try to reach out. What truly sets Procompare apart—and makes it a platform worth trusting—is how they handle these ghosted leads. It is incredibly appreciated that they will credit or refund your money back to your account balance if a client fails to respond. This policy alleviates the financial risk of paying for dead ends and shows that they genuinely care about a mutually beneficial partnership with their service pros. While no platform can guarantee every lead will turn into a paying job, Procompare's willingness to back up their service with a fair refund policy makes them a highly reliable tool for growing a business.
