Provident are very hostile and dont check if you can aford the loans the interest is more than the loan itself, and if you hit hard times they dont care and still harrass you, please take note and get in touch with Stepchange debt charity for a debt relief order only DRO one of payment of £90 then after 12 months all debt written off ,provident do not like people knowing this, dont delay phone stepchange charity 08001381111

Chris Gillespie Managing Director of Provident , Your company does not care about the Customers , Your staff are rude all but 1 of your staff is OK , They are the worst company ever , do not use them you will have a lifetime of misery , Still waiting for my REDRESS to be issued to me that was upheld by the FSO , But they are calling customers that have not gone through FSO to complain , and been offering them redress money that is way below they would get if they went through the FSO, .... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL

Provident is a joke don't work for them don't treat there staff right and put on the vulnerable

They were late twice and didn't even call to explain why in the se ond visit. Claimed that the law stopped them from taking bank statements as proof of income. Then claimed DWP would respond within a couple of days.

I felt sorry for the local bloke who was a new starter. His manager completely let him down.

These will throw cash at you without even checking affordability!! numerous loans just given and the figures bodged to show you can pay not fit and proper checks !!

Currently waiting for lending complaint to be carried out by them issued 28/819 they said within 56 days it’s now nearly 100 days

Been told by different people every time I ring up should hear by next week !!

This company is a joke. Avoid at all costs!

I thought it would be a good idea they come out go on about it refer to a friend so you accept to end up in more debt doesnt let you borrow again as pay of bill leave your self skint badley bad idea never again will I go with this

We took out a loan about 3 months ago. Was only 600 pound to help pay off some bills as we fell behind on a few payments. The guy come round went through it all, he got the money out counted it on the table and that was that. Money went in the bank few direct debits were dealt with. 3 months down the road were paying bk 800 pound still out of over 1200... Andrew were in even more debt than before. They make it seem cheap with the wkly costs your paying back. But we're paying back 100 a month, were even more behind with bills than ever all because we took out this loan to help with money in the first place. We have 800 pound left to pay and I CAN NOT wait for this to be finished! It honestly couldn't come sooner.. Or it could actually! Never agian will I go with this joke of a company.

This review is to talk about my struggle with historic "door step" loans 
The two company's used where provident and greenwood's in my area at the time they where trading like two separate company's with different local agents even though they were merged in 1977 I beleave 
It's starts off all nice and smiles on your first loan you are told "if you do well with this loan there can be a bigger one issued" weekly they knock on your door smiling and to be fair the agents I worked with for both the trading names was pleasant one of the agents was a long term friends father 
Later in life a bit after my loan was "off his books " after my hardship became too much told me some thing's about the way agents are encouraged with leading behaviour how if they get loans paid in full early that Is more comission for them when a new loan is issued there is comission and on every payment they collect from you will all go towards there wage 
I won't name his name out of respect told me that on days he would "have to go and put pressure on enough people to make there payments so he could use the money he had collected to pay out on a loan already agreed with some one else " earning more money for him self
I sufurred with mental health since a young age and the pressure these two (or one ) company's put on me the interest rates and leading behaviour promoted by provident with little or no checks to even see you have an income untI'll the point you can not breathe 
I have contained both through resolver and also in person with customer care
I will update this review on there performance with response and resolution and weather after acting unfair in the first instense providing un affordable loans and top ups from the very first weather they maintain them standards or do the right thing by this conplaint

Company full of liars and dishonest reps, forced into debt as they kept re loaning to clear a previous loan, which I clearly could not afford! Now taking legal action!

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!

Last week I booked an appointment with my sisters agent to come round to arrange a loan. After trying to get in touch with him without success i found out he is off sick.No one phoned me to tell me I phone head office who was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot.
They are sending email to the colchester office who never call or answer emails I got told it's all gone to Ipswich but the twit on the phone new better.
TOTALLY 100 PERCENT FED UP WITH PROVIDENT

Provident tells you clearly what you will pay back for the loan! They don’t go into your bank account to take money. Don’t even take bank details so unlike payday loans!!! They give you 3 different options on how much to pay back each week. My friend got a payday loan from another company and basically she is skint after being paid... these are the companies that need to be destroyed. Provident has been around for years. If you borrow money it’s your responsibility to pay it back. I’ve had a great experience with provident. I’m actually a victim of online fraud because of payday loans. Filed a report with action fraud. Yes definitely would rather the agent coming to my house for payment.trust them more than any other lenders.

Had a case with FOS, company slowed it every way possible, case upheld. now they stating their no way I will receive my refund within the 28days, and they don’t no when it will be.. quick to take money off you but giving it back is a different story. Advisor who work their are rude and refused to put me through to complaints department, and told me if I wasn’t happy about it “I best contact the FOS” then moving my account into arrears when it should Be cleared and rest funded. unprofessional company. Contacting all media/ press sites possible who will listen to make people aware of what this company does to you. Do not loan from them

Worst company every, customer service is not a service it is a joke. If you speak to 4 different people you get 4 different scenarios. They agreed to refund my interest after I made a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman. I have been waiting now 3 weeks for a cheque to be issued. They lie to people. I have been told they never ever make a bank transfer, though I know of at least 3 people who had their refund paid direct into bank instead of having to wait for a cheque. This company should be investigated by the FCA immediatley

2 weeks now the agent hasn't been around, what can i say worst company on the planet.

Due to some serious financial mismanagement with my life over a decade ago I got drawn into the murky world of sub prime credit. Found myself using this shower of s@&t from 2012 to 2017 taking out a total of 8 loans. The APR is shocking but hey, when you're desperate you take what you can get. To be fair they offer a service where the cards are completely stacked against you, the people who can least afford credit are the ones being given the most ridiculous APR rates known to man and being kept in a spiral of modern day money debt slavery. This company draws you in and when you are on the verge of clearing your debt they offer you more, affordability questionnaires are filled in by the agent (used to be) and you just smile and sign up for another 12 months. I am lucky enough to have broken free from this cycle and over the last 24 months have cleared off the majority of my debts and now have access to decent sensible credit with my main stream bank and constantly check my credit rating. I have pursued various companies I had to use over the last decade and have so far recouped over £10,000 in refunds, YES £10,000 in unfair charges thanks to debt camel (check it out - its free to use). I am currently pursuing these bunch for a whopper payout but they are the least helpful and feet dragging bunch of S*%ts known to man. All with the Ombudsman now, along with bank statements from 2012 to 2017, copies of credit records and fingers crossed I can get some closure and money back. They are not the worse out there BUT, they are preying on the most vulnerable and weakest in our society so please explore every avenue before you go down this slippery road of pay day lenders as they are utter scum and are there to make money from the most vulnerable.

Don’t be tempted . I was a customer for years, the APR is astronomical. My agent left and her replacement was a creep, I only had a few weeks to pay so did it over the phone

I had €2000 euro loan 2 years ago interest total repay was €3120 I paid it back

Applying for mortgage paid €8k deposit on house to secure so I've sale agreed, all my credit history is good, I only got provident loan as needed cash for a week as I've a good job and pay back very quickly .

But provident have been putting missed payments on my ccr for the last 2 years ? Saying I never paid . I have the receipt book and says paid in full.

I've made complaints and have a solicitor advising me that I could sue provident for data protection now as it's false information proventing me from buying a house and costing me money.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Home credit loans with extortionate interest are a legalised form of loan sharking. People often turn to home credit due to poor credit history. This is then took full advantage of with extortionate interest rates. No amount of form signing, paperwork or telephone calls can disguise the fact that it essentially preying on the financially vulnerable, Also provident do not comply with any financial Ombudsman service recommendations or timescales regarding irresponsible lending. My complaint is still ongoing since september 2017 and im still waiting for a senior ombudsman to be allocated after provident rejected my adjudicators recommendations to redress interest ive paid.
Awful company do your self a favour and stay well clear!
