scam - it's a 10% coupon at a few low end places
It might not be restaurants.com fault as much as the people at a timeshare presentation that called this a $200 dining credit. It's a 10% coupon if you spend so much $$ at only 3 restaurants of the literally hundreds in the beach cities area of LA. All 3 places are low end places (a pizza joint, a chicken shak, and a soup/salad place - all 1 or 2 star places).

We’re sorry the offer you received from a third party wasn’t what you expected. All of our partners agree to present the offer in accordance with our marketing standards to ensure it’s clear and transparent—but unfortunately, they don’t always get it right.
The "$200 dining credit" you received is equivalent to 20,000 Restaurant.com points. These points never expire and can be broken up however you like—so you’re not limited to using the full amount in any single establishment. Many customers find more variety and availability by redeeming their points in $10, $25 or $50 increments.
While our dining deals are not stored-value gift cards, they are designed to offer up to 50% off your final bill at participating restaurants - and you receive the full value of the dining deal. So with a $200 dining deal, you'll still get the full $200 off of your restaurant bills, provided you meet the restaurant's minimum, which is usually 2x the face value (for example, a $25 dining deal may have a $50 minimum spend, so you'll save 50%). Each establishment sets its own minimum spend requirement and agrees to participate in the program. These details are clearly listed on our website.
You can browse and redeem your points at any time and even exchange your unredeemed certificates if something doesn’t work out - no questions asked.

Unable to use certificates
I bought some gift certificates about a year and a half ago, thinking they could be used at popular restaurants. So far I have NOT been able to use any. First issue was the limited number of restaurants in my area available. I was under the impression that the certificates could be used almost anywhere. Second issue, my certificate ID numbers no longer work because the we site requires a 12 digit code and mine are only 9 digits. Going round and round with restaurants.com was finally able to convert one certifcate to points which I am supposed to be able to use on diningdiscountpass.com according to the help people. However, now I cannot get into that account. The Reset Password does absolutley nothing. many emails later, I just get the same information reiterated, but I still cannot get into my account and cannot use the certificates that I purchased. So, this has been a complete waste of money and time!
No, no one has contacted me about my "diningdiscountpass.com" password. I did get another reset for my "restaurant.com" account, but I Do NOT that one. I have no problem getting into that account. And it is NOT a problem of a particular restaurant not accepting my certificate. I have NOT even been able to generate a certificate for ANY specific restaurants......

We’re sorry for the frustration this may have caused. All restaurants on our site have agreed to participate, but if one unexpectedly doesn’t honor a deal, your certificate never loses value and can always be exchanged for another option.

website is very misleading, it appears you can use the e gift card at any restaurant on the sight which is not true at all. I would not recommend this as a gift for anyone as the restaurants that you can order from are not popular. I searched my city (Lafayette, In) to see what restaurants accepted restaurant.com cards and it was ! restaurant! and it was closed !! don't ewaste your ,money

To see only locations currently offering a dining deal, we recommend using the “Show Deals Only” filter at the top of the search results.
While not every restaurant has an active offer at all times, many users find value in discovering new spots, reading reviews, and saving up to 50% when deals are available.

Literally everything we clicked on does not offer anything. And there is NO contact us! The site should just be shut down since none of the places listed is offering any deals!

To do this, we recommend clicking on the “Show Deals Only” filter at the top of the search results page. That will help narrow your results to just those restaurants with active offers.
Many of our users find value in browsing the full directory to discover new restaurants and read reviews—and when deals are available, it's a great way for diners to save.

I've ALWAYS had good service...okay...excellent, at Restaurant.com. I've been with them for Years and still have several coupons (still good, too) that I've had longer than I like! But the good thing is that they're not only saving me money, the coupons last forever...at least through the Covid problem, when many did not! Restaurant.com saves money...PERIOD!

I've been using Restaurant.com for a few years now, and occasionally, the restaurant I have a coupon for either closes or there's some other issue. That happened recently, so I reached out to their support team. They responded quickly and gave me credit to use at another restaurant of my choice. The whole process was simple, and I really appreciated how fast and helpful they were!

We have been using restaurant.com for many years. In recent years, there have been fewer and fewer restaurants that nearby that I have been interested in using. We still have one faithful restaurant in Aurora that we frequent using a restaurant.com coupon. We would love it if this new ownership group would bring in more great restaurants to visit.

Great that you can return certificates and trade for other ones, but it’s a bit difficult sometimes because they don’t go into one single “credit” on your account….For instance, if you return a $10 certificate and you have another credit of $25. And another credit of $15.
You can’t just go in to “buy” a $50 certificate, because all the credits are separated…..
They will do it for you, but you have to call and have them reconfigure the credit. It would be better if they offered that option online.

To help clarify, our points-based system was actually designed to offer more flexibility for exactly this type of situation. Rather than being locked into specific certificate values, you now have the ability to redeem your points for any available dining deal that fits your balance — no need to call or combine anything manually.
Each dollar of value you return is converted into points ($1 = 100 points), and your full points balance can be accessed from your account at any time. So in your example, if you have 5,000 points from different returns, you can absolutely use them all toward a single $50 dining deal.

Total rip off. Most restaurants don't even have gift cards to get at a discount
I bought a gift card off groupon that restaurant.com was offering that was only redeemable for points. After redeeming the card and getting my points, i discovered how much of a rip off and a scam the website is. Out of the hundreds of restaurants they list, very few of them actually have gift cards you can buy, and even fewer have gift cards you can buy with your points. You still have to spend a significant amount of money with those locations too before you can even use the coupons.
The company is just a giant scam, and it looks like a majority of those restaurants arent even aware they are on the website.

You can use your points to redeem these dining deals, and most are structured to save you up to 50% off your meal. For example, a $25 dining deal typically requires a $50 minimum spend — so you’re still saving $25 when dining out.
To find restaurants that currently have deals available, just use the “Show Deals Only” toggle when browsing our site. Only those restaurants with active deals will appear.
As for restaurant participation — we have formal agreements with all restaurants listed on our site. If a location isn’t honoring its deal, we absolutely want to know. We’ve requested more information from you here on Trustpilot and would truly appreciate the chance to investigate and make things right.

Have been with Restuarant.com for years! They have changed their App and the format is easier to use once I got the hang of it! I hope more restaurants join so their will be a much bigger selection to choose from in my area.

Lost my certificates
I had gift certificates from the old app, they disappeared and I found out that now I have points but not able to redeem for $5 so if I exchange my point I lose $ because I exchange 2500 points for only $20, where’s the $5 option?
