What a great concert
What a great concert! Grandma’s first and she was very impressed. Thought Daz was brilliant - ‘What an inspiring man!’ Always amazed at what the kids manage to achieve in such a short amount of time and the confidence they show.

A fantastic way to learn music!
A fantastic way for children to learn music, experience being in a band, and in no time at all be confident enough to perform! The band leader Abbey is inspirational, full of enthusiasm, very attentive and responded promptly to my email query. Weekly updates on what your child is doing and great support if needed. Highly recommend this!

My daughter absolutely loves rocksteady
My daughter absolutely loves her rocksteady sessions. She had grown in confidence so much. Her teacher Rich does a brilliant job, gives so much encouragement and makes it fun. Evie loves coming home telling us what she is learning each week.

Went into a 7 year old’s school and…
Went into a 7 year old’s school and lied and said they’d all have an opportunity to join the class. They didn’t. You have to pay. Disgusting that anyone is selling to 7 year olds without the parents’ consent when the cost is so high. It’s higher than any of her other clubs including weekly swimming and gymnastics. It’s literally disguating that their sales technique is to go into schools and try and sell to the children rather than to the parents. Also lied and said the first few sessions would be free but they aren’t and there’s a hidden extra cost. Vile and weird behaviour and I’m not sure why nobody else has called them out on it yet.

School assemblies and workshops are designed to give children a fun, pressure-free experience of live music and what it feels like to play together as a band. Letters are then sent home to parents and guardians with full information about the programme, including how to sign up if they would like their child to take part in regular band lessons. All details, including pricing and what’s included, are outlined and there are no hidden or extra costs.
Lessons are paid via a monthly subscription, which parents can cancel at any time. There is also a money-back guarantee for the first month, so families can see if it’s the right fit for them and their child. Alongside the weekly band lessons, children also work towards an exam-free music qualification accredited by Trinity College London which is included at no extra cost.
We regularly hear from schools and families that taking part helps children grow in confidence, build friendships and feel more connected at school.

My son has been taking Rocksteady lessons for 3 months now. He absolutely loves his teacher and looks forward to Mondays as that's when he has his lesson. He's currently super excited for his first concert in a couple of days.
The confidence i've seen beaming from my son these last 2 months especially is amazing. He's well and truly in his "Rock" era. Spikey hair, wanting to see rock bands live etc. He's only 4 but already knows he wants to be performing on stages when he's bigger.. seeing the confidence soar out of him is wonderful! I can't wait to see his progress over the next few years.

I would like to share some positive feedback about Phoebe following a recent situation where my daughter, Preetirose, was unfortunately not included in the concert due to some miscommunication. Although it was initially disappointing for us, Phoebe responded with genuine care, kindness, and understanding.
She took the time to listen to our concerns, and as a parent I truly felt that I was heard and supported. That meant a great deal to me during what was initially a frustrating experience.
What stood out even more was her thoughtful suggestion that Preetirose might be able to choose her favourite song for the next concert (looking forward to this). This kind gesture brought encouragement and positivity, and it meant a lot to our daughter and to us as a family.
Phoebe’s empathy, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile truly deserve recognition. We really appreciate the way she handled the situation with warmth and sincerity, turning a negative experience into a positive and reassuring one.

Boosts confidence
Both of my children have joined Rocksteady and absolutely love being part of their bands. The biggest highlight has been watching my usually quiet daughter grow in confidence. Seeing her get behind the drums and perform in front of the school is incredible. The supportive atmosphere, the fun approach to learning, and the chance to be part of a band have made a huge difference for both of my children. I do find the lessons expensive, especially for two children, but when I see how they thrive—especially during performances—it feels worth it.

EDITED: Rocksteady has now supplied me with a video of my daughter's first drumming. It took 4 months of chasing but I am glad they have been able to supply it so have adjusted the review accordingly.

So Disappointing.
Three weeks in a row they've cancelled at the last minute. Kids left very disappointed. With Half Term it's been 5 weeks since the last lesson and yet they're happily billing me £45 per month.
Really gutted this has turned out to be such a mess. And today I have to deal with a sad/angry/confused son again.
Thanks a bunch. At least I'm paying handsomely for the privilege!!!

Encourages confidence - recommended
Our daughter has been taking part in Rocksteady for 2 years now. I like that she is working towards a qualification, that she builds confidence through lessons with other students and quarterly performances. Her band leader is Kostas who is very brilliant with the children, knows them all so well and has a great relationship with them, he keeps their confidence high when playing in front of the school.
I believe that Rocksteady is definitely more about team work, confidence building, learning to work together as a band vs your child solely learning a new instrument, due to there being 30 mins a week and a number of kids in each band, it isn’t really possible for them to
Progress with their instrument in the same way as a one to one would be, however, they do learn musical skills, it’s just at a slower pace due to the time for each lesson and the band setting.
We are really pleased with Kostas and rocksteady in general, and would highly recommend. We only ever had one instance in the past 2 years that Kostas couldn’t make a lesson and we were sent a video of a supply teacher that would be coming in his place so we could show our child before the lesson which was very handy. We have never had a lesson cancelled.
It’s great that it takes place in school time, they are never too tired/ it doesn’t eat into time at home etc, they are collected from lessons each week.
A couple of things that would make this even better-
Longer lessons, maybe 45min- 1 hour
One to one music sessions being available for a further cost to focus solely on the instrument learning, it would be so great as our children already have the relationship with the bandleader vs going externally for one to one lessons elsewhere.
