Beware of fake competition
This is a website where you pay money and then you hear nothing back whatsoever.
Most likely it is one of the many 'scam' award businesses - where the company is collecting a lot of money from people and then profiting from it. Real award doesn't cost money.

"We feel that the entry fee is fair... The fees are not as large as those requested by the BookTrust or by other competitions when an author is shortlisted. For example, WH Smiths requests £25,000 for a book that is selected by the new Richard and Judy book club (correct figures in 2010). These extra costs that publishers are expected to pay are not generally publicised but they exclude authors and independent publishers who cannot afford these prices. We feel that our entry fees are more reasonable and obtainable for authors and publishers with a modest budget."

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand that paying an entry fee can sometimes raise questions, and we’d like to clarify how the Rubery Book Award operates.
The entry fee is used to cover the costs of running the competition, including administration, prizes and marketing. Unlike some larger competitions, our fees are designed to be affordable and transparent, making the award accessible to self-published authors and small independent publishers who might otherwise be excluded.
Our long-standing history and winners demonstrate that this is a legitimate award with a genuine judging process. The fees are not profit-driven; they ensure we can maintain the quality, fairness, and sustainability of the award year after year.
We always send an email confirmation to all entrants - except for ebook entries as they receive an automated response to show it has been received.
Winners and shortlisted authors are always contacted personally.
A newsletter is sent out but you have to sign up to that.
If you didn't receive one of the above emails then the usual reason would be that it ended up in your spam box. Unfortunately there is little we can do about that.
